This plugins command help system is totaly useless if you type /sk it tells you to use /sk help command and to use /sk to list commands..
the problem is /sk does not list the commands so with out knowing that how can i get help for a command?
Hi Grandwazir,
I am running a beta for an apocalypse server that uses your StarterKit plugin. I was wondering if you would add an option to give kits upon a respawn from death. My issue is that once a player dies they no longer have the option of acquiring a kit. My server does not favor the unprepared and can quickly kill those without the luxury. The server also bans players after so many deaths, so abuse is not an issue. Would it be possible to add this option? If not, can I have the source code for editing, credit to the creator for the basis of course?
@KillerKrabs
Tekkit items work when I tested with latest version of Tekkit. Made a kit of out high voltage solar arrays and a crystal chest. Could you try again and see what happens?
@Maluzis
I am not sure what you mean about item names and descriptions. The plugin itself links to the item list Bukkit uses so it does not need updating unless Bukkit breaks something I am relying on. New items should work automatically.
@deathhzone
This would turn StarterKit into a generic kit plugin. I may spin out another version with more generic kit functionality at a later date.
@Infuscu
I agree. Still waiting for Bukkit to add support for that. I am not keen to hack my own classes into the plugin to make that happen.
@KillerKrabs
Tekkit items will not appear in the Bukkit item list I am guessing and that is why it is failing. I have not tested with Tekkit yet. I'll have a look and see what can be done.
@SharkInWater
Means the plugin is not loaded. Check your console log for more details.
Maybe support for items names and description? Please update it for 1.4.
Please add some sort of thing where when they join, it asks them to do a command for a certain starter kit, so lets say I wanted them to choose from 2 different things: Miner, and Farmer. So they would join, and it would say in their chat, Do /sk <kitname> (and possibly would list the kit names) So, if they did /sk farmer, they would get, for example, seeds and a hoe, but if they did /sk miner, they would get a pick and some torches. I think it's a good idea, and would probably make this plugin unique, because the Essentials starter kit is enough.
Book support would be incredible :-)
Can you add support writen book saved by this - http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/bookmanager/ ?
It's will very good, if will.
Does this not work for Tekkit? Not a single item I put in the kit works. I've also deleted all players from the world's "players" folder. And to clarify: the only Tekkit item I used was industrial credits. The rest should work even if IC's don't work with it.
Book support? So I can write a guide and it will save? As of now it just prints a blank written book.
When I type in any commands it just says /sk, how do i fix?
@DiabloTheDark
i think CommandBook have that option
is there a way to set this up so that when players die and re-spawn they automatically get the kit again. The main reason i ask is that i use the thirsty plugin and want to make sure that players will always start with a bottle of water and if they die and re-spawn they will start off with the kit
@grandwazir
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/reading-rainbow/ this plugin has done it though... ?
@sharp237
It is because Bukkit does not support books yet. I thought they would add the API quickly given someone as already made a pull request but it does not seem to be forthcoming.
@bigggan
Make sure you are using the latest version.
doesent work, i create a kit but they dotn get it when they log in.
@THEFID
I was thinking the same thing. At the moment if I create a book and add it to the starter kit (by using /sk load, adding the book, then typing /sk save) it only saves the default 'Written Book' to the kit (id 387) and so the book does not contain writing.
Suggestion... How about being able to spawn with a copy of a book in their inventory when they enter the server. This book can have the server instructions, rules and tips on how to use the mods installed.
Thank's. Works fine.
Maybe you could add the option of giving written earlier books. Something similar to this plugin: http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/reading-rainbow/?
I tested your plugin and the plugin Reading Rainbow. Do not work together. First, get a book from ReadingRainbow, and then replaced all the equipment from Starterkit. It's a shame ;(
As a general note, please do not use 1.2.5 and instead go straight to 1.2.6 when it is approved shortly. 1.2.5 has a bug in it which prevents kits from being granted. 1.2.5 is only there now for the version changes and is marked as alpha just in case.
@Maluzis
Delete the config.yml and then create a new kit and the problem should go away. It was fixed in an earlier version, but it does require that you refresh your configuration.
