Solar Apocalypse
SOLAR APOCALYPSE!
The worlds rotation is slowing, We must move underground to Survive!
Solar Apocalypse is a survival game, to make mine craft even harder! The mod destroys all plant and animal life on the surface over a span of 4 days. Players are forced to move underground and try to survive as long as they can.
Mod Features
Natural looking Destruction and Regrowth
- World Changes to a fiery or frozen wasteland.
- All exposed plant life dies off.
- Biomes Change to desert during the day and tundra at night.
- The world can be slowly restored with the regrow system a few blocks at a time.
Day GamePlay Mechanics
- Lava balls fall from the sky
- Anything exposed to Sun Light will burst into flames.
- Colored glass can protect from the suns death rays.
Night GamePlay Mechanics
- Players and Animals take cold damage when away from heat sources (lights) even under ground!
- Full Leather armor can keep players warm underground, but not outside.
- Players can see there breath when they are getting too far from the light.
- Snow Piles up to form huge drifts.
- Super lighting storms strike without warning.
Time Control
- The time length of Day, Night and Dusk/Dawn can be independently increased, decreased or skipped entirely.
- Players can right click a clock for info about whats going on and how much time is left.
Mulit-World Support
- You can destroy as many worlds as you like in many different ways.
- Destruction pauses if no players are in the world
Fully Customizable World Config
- Each world can have its own config separate config file.
- Plugin config file.
- The World's Config File can be modified for new types of gameplay.
- Share your Config files on the forums!
Basic Commands
- /apocadmin -plugins help
- /apocadmin [worldName] Start - Starts Solar Apocalypse on [worldName]
- /apocadmin [worldName] Stop - Stops Solar Apocalypse

How To Install and run
- Download the plugin
- Place the .jar file in your plugins directory.
- Run the server.
- To start a game type "/ApocAdmin world start" where world is the name of the world you want to destroy!
- Enjoy the game!
- type "/ApocAdmin world stop" to stop.

its not set up of night only, but you can run just the freeze settings.
how would i set it that a player only took half a heart of damage every 10 seconds when they where not near fire at night.
Does this plugin work with 1.7.9?
A second world is created with the same key and the locations are compared to see whats missing.
I have a question regarding the Regrowth system. I made Solar Apocalypse turn Dirt to Air and then Stone to Lava(which was pretty epic :D). After the 40th day I set it to regrow. How exactly does the regrow work, how fast and WHAT will it regrow. Will it fix the lava ?

normal speed is 1.0
0.8 is 80% slower
2 is 2 times as fast
0 means skip it.

I have a big problem with the config. file in the world folder. When I edit the file and put: "- Set <> DayMultiplier:0.8" to "- Set <> DayMultiplier:0" they don't work and the sun is still and don't move. I need that sun move to normal speed. Any idea?

Where do I get the IDs to use in the ApocConfig? They're not the same as the normal IDs or the name IDs.

Not sure I'm up to the task but ill look into it.
I do have a idea on how you can make the sun get bigger. With now server texture packs you can make it so that each day it will use the bigger sun for each texture pack.

Nice explanation lol, I think the vortex storm will get its own mod some day.
Solar Apoc is done other then bukkit updates.
Checked back recently, noticed that you replied to my message about not advancing at day 5 with a fix. Fantastic :) .. As for the vortex storm, that would be great as long as it doesn't destroy anything other than wood and soft minerals. (no stone or ores).. keep in mind that huge storms happen at an abrupt change in temperatures or climates. this being the case, The storm would be best suited to happen just after the sun sets, or after it rises. (or both). people would be running for their underground protection at the end of the night, (not just hiding under objects due to the oncoming sun) so they didn't get swept away by the incoming storms. With the crazy amount of temperature change, there should be many squalls/tornadoes happening simultaneously.. On top of this, I would always have it rain like the dickens after nightfall (all that evaporated water in the atmosphere would be cooling at this point and getting heavy). If the vortex is configurable, have it default not destroying iron doors (For storm shelters). One last thing I can possibly think of is a special kind of firework that puts off o-zone particles in the air, blocking some of that pesky scorching sun, launching so many could block the suns rays for a bit in a particular biome, allowing some mid-day collecting of items.. I would use some sort of metal based firework (possibly gold ingot created) for these fireworks. The more you shoot off, the less sun effects you have for that day. Anyway, I didn't mean to flood you with Ideas, just thought I would take some initiative to try to help out. Thanks for the fixes. take care!
