SimpleChat allows server admins to quickly set up chat prefixes without any hassle that those bigger plugins make... Its straight forward and doesnt have any confusing points. It also comes with lots of extras like die messages, join/leave/kick messages, me formatting, colored chat, curse word censoring, caps preventing, and more! The guide below will take you step by step in configuring your config.yml file. Features:
- Provides colored prefixes

- Provides colored chat (Can assign perms for individual color codes)
- Provides a user override list (Prefixes and Suffixes set here, will override those in groups)
- Provides a default list, if a player's prefix, suffix, and/or group were not found, it will default to these.
- Provides a configurable curse word list (stars out any word on this list, if turned on)
- Provides a configurable private welcome message to player
- Provides configurable public join, leave, and kick messages
- Provides configurable broadcast and say messages. Cannot do that with Essentials.

- Great PARTYCHAT system
- SocialSpy for PMs and PartyChat. Much better than Essential's

Think we misunderstand each other.
we want all players in the different groups write in chat as follows:
& 0 [& 7 Member & 0] & 7 "Player" & 7 "message"
& 0 [& E VIP & 0] & e "Player" & e "message"
& 0 [& 2 Admin & 0] & 2 "Player" & 2 "message"
& 0 [& 2 Owner & 0] & 2 "Player" & 2 "message"
The colors in the main chat. So they looks like this. I have mastered all the other setups but are not able to change the color of the player / Nick.
So we can change so that all players do not have the same color in the chat in their name
@ExtremeMiner2
If you're running essentials, you change apply a nickname using the /nick command. For this nickname to work, use +dname instead of +pname in the MsgFormat
Thanks it was exactly what I asked for now it works.
Is it also possible to change the Nick Name. In different colors to match the color as you write with
@ExtremeMiner2
In your MsgFormat (config.yml) add the +suf tag. So it can look something like this:
+pre &7+pname&f: +suf+msg
Now, in the "Groups" section of config.yml, add those groups you mentioned. Set prefixes for each of them (it will appear in place of the +pre tag) and set suffixes. The suffixes you set can be color codes (&1 &2 &a &b etc). If you set color codes as suffixes using the above MsgFormat, it will make colored messages for each group.
Thanks for instant response
Could you be more specific where you put the different groups up to write in different colors So they write with following colors in the open chat in the following colors
Membership &0 - VIP &e - Admin &a - Owner &a
Such so they write with different colors in their message in the chat
@ExtremeMiner2
Yes, change the format in the config/extra yml files.
Is it possible to change the color that member writes in the chat with to White. And the Admin writes with to green text in the chat. so they always write with the colors. It would be nice
@cheracc
Can you open a ticket and post the extra.yml file? I think I might know what's going on.
@Hotshot2162
I've also just discovered that party chat isn't working either. the commands work, such as:
/party create admin - says it works /party invite <player> - player gets the invite and can do /party accept
but when we do /p <message> we get nothing. I also see nothing in the console.
@Hotshot2162
We are having the same problem even after relogging. I've also tried a full restart.
I've disabled the bChatManager that comes with bPermissions as well. I'm still fiddling to see if there's something another plugin is messing with.
Here's my plugin list. Perhaps you might have some insight or an idea on where I could look? Thanks a ton for any help you can offer.
NoEntityGrief, QuickShop, bPermissions, WorldEdit, NoCheatPlus, SimpleFly, BOSEconomy, AFK Kicker, Vault, Multiverse-Core, FirstLastSeen, Jail, WorldGuard, dynmap, SimpleChat, PerformanceMonitor, CoreProtect, Duties, BanManager, Lockette, GriefPrevention, FishChecker, InfoMan, FoundDiamonds, PwnFilter, WorldBorder, OtherDrops, Multiverse-Portals, Multiverse-Inventories, Multiverse-NetherPortals, VanishNoPacket, HomeSpawnPlus, ChestShop
@cheracc
Have them logout and log back in.
I'm having trouble with adminchat:
I have given my staff the simplechat.adminchat permission node.
If I use /a <message> in-game, I can see the adminchat in the console, but not in-game. None of my staff can see it either.
If I use "a <message>" in the console, everyone with the permission node can see it in-game.
I'm using bPermissions and SimpleChat v5.0
Other than that I love the plugin, and it's exactly what I'm looking for.
@wiedzmin137
It'll be done in the next version of simplechat :D
Can you add name of mobs in config-extra (polish translations of death messages is not pretty with english mobs)?
@EpicTrance
Glad to hear it!
@Hotshot2162
Worked thanks :)
@EpicTrance
Figure out your groups and permissions, and make sure that's working. And then use the command /scconfig groups sync
@wiedzmin137
That's because they have their PM locked. If a person does /msg [anotherplayer] then it locks their chat to that other player. All chat the player sends will go to the other player as a message. To UNLOCK the PM, do /msg [anotherplayer] or just /msg
Sometimes, when I use SC and TownyChat, my player don't see what others write. It fix when they relog. Can you fix that?
EDIT: Players can see any messages in PM which goes to them.
how do I link perms systems cause it says perms do not match
I use groupmanger and I do have latest vault installed
@AlphaFarer
No. Those are core functions in the plugin.
