is there a way to permanently rename an item?
Hello! I've installed this for my server just to mess about and works great! The commands are really easy to use, it can do pretty much anything related to renaming items and much more. There's only one problem. I don't see a "change color" command on the list above. I've also tried to find the command for it ingame, and I've not seen any commands related to the coloring option on the server list. Can you please tell me if it's there yet or I just missed it? Thanks!

oh wait nevermind its an anvil lol sorry
Hey! If you want, i can translate the plugin in Italian.
In reply to UknownGino:
That would be great! Thank you!
Hey, I see the sr.anvil perm in the list, though players can still use color, magic and format codes, even if they don't have the permission inside anvils. Anyway you can make it so that they require the sr.color, sr.format and sr.magic to be able to do those inside an anvil?
It might be easier just to remove the anvil: true/false from config and just have sr.anvil, anvil.magic anvil.format etc?
Many thanks

Hello!
What MC version are you using?
In reply to Forge_User_07364140:
Since last SimpleRename update players can't use color codes in the Anvils if the don't have the sr.color permission (same for sr.magic and sr.format). Please let me know if that doesn't work like that for you.
Anywat, this is only true if you are using MC 1.9+, for older versions I'm not sure what the behaviour is (In general I only support the latest versions).
About the sr.anvil permission, I didn't update the documentation yet, but that permission is true by default. That means that it's only useful if you deny it explicitly. For example if you are using PermissionEx you would have to add the "-sr.anvil" permission to those players. That means:
- Players with no permission set CAN use it
- Players with sr.anvil permission CAN use it
- Players with the permission denied CAN'T use it
In reply to Forge_User_07364140:
Players without sr.magic can still use the magic codes in the anvil, using most recent jar. I've even denied the magic permission to be sure and they can still do it.
Same applies for sr.format and sr.color, these permissions do not work for anvils. They can do all 3 of these with anvils without the permissions. That's the problem I'm having, a player shouldnt be able to add colour, format or add magic to anvils without these perms added to the list.
Image showing magic text in anvil working with the magic perm denied.

What Spigot or Craftbukkit version are you using?
How do i give permissions to players. And how can i give certain permissions to players to only use the /rename and /relore command?
In reply to Forge_User_84379395:
The permissions in SimpleRename work as in any other plugin. I think you can configure them directly in the permissions.yml file, but I would recommend you to use a plugin for managing the permissions. I used to use PermissionEx, but I think it hasn't been updated in a while.
Any chance for a perm for using this in anvils so I can add it to specific groups?

Hello!
Thank you for the suggestion, but could you please give me some more details? What exact permissions do you have in mind?
In reply to Forge_User_07364140:
1. At the moment any one can use the anvil to colour their items.
I don't see a permission setting for preventing anyone to use the anvil to colour?
Could we have "sr.anvil" and the player requires this permission to be able to colour items within the anvil.
There is only "AnvilFeatures: false" in the config, but no permissions to allow different ranks to be able to use it.
If you could add this I'd really appreciate it.
2. Also, if you could also add the following go ontop of that:
Players who are looking to repair Coloured items without permissions to format, providing they don't change the name should maintain the colours. Similar to what ColourAnvils plugin does, though its outdated.
In reply to Forge_User_74434314:
I second this addition. i am mainly using it to create an item based economy for my server but with players being able to rename any item at the anvil with custom colors it basically creates the same object allowing me to still be able to purchase items from the "store" with "counterfeit" items.

Thank you both for your comments. You are right, I think it's important to have some specific permissions for the anvils. I added it to my tasks list.
In reply to Forge_User_07364140:
Brilliant, thank you! I look forward to you adding it so I can drop the ColoredAnvils plugin. :)
Hello! I uploaded a video on this plugin showing all its commands and functions on my channel (English), if you want you can insert it on the plugin page as a "guide".

Thank you very much for the video, I really appreciate it. Already added it to the wiki
