SiloLaunch
SiloLaunch v1.2
Description
A TNT missile mod that allows users to fire highly expensive and explosive rounds at specific coordinates on the map. A set silo/cannon must be built in order for the plugin to function. This cannon will cost players 9 blocks of diamonds, 40 blocks of iron, 18 obsidian and various other small blocks to construct. The explosive rounds currently consist of 3 diamond blocks, 5 gunpowder and 1 TNT. These values can be changed from the config files. In version 1.2 there is also a simple anti-air defense system that requires 64 obsidian per defensive round. Scroll to the bottom of this page to see a layout of these devices.
In my opinion, this mod works best on Towny/Faction servers where large groups of players are in control of the most firepower. Often times this leads to a very interesting ColdWar-esque dynamic that really compliments the mods. The silos are easily destroyed if their location is discovered, so it is also necessary to properly protect and hide them. All explosions are logged to console with the name of the player, time and location, allowing for easy administration.
How To Use
Cannon
Build the specified cannon, as displayed in the pictures below. It consists of 10 layers. When complete, press the launch button and you should receive a message verifying the integrity of the silo. Then proceed to writing the coordinates of the targeted area (X and Z coordinate on lines 1 and 2 of the sign above the launch button). Finally put EXACTLY 3 diamond blocks, 5 gunpowder and 1 tnt in the chest in whatever order you wish. It will consume everything in the chest at each launch. Do not cover the launcher with any blocks or the launch will fail and your items may be consumed.
In the config file the types of ammo used can be chosen! To do this just write in the desired item name following the bukkit format found here: http://jd.bukkit.org/rb/apidocs/org/bukkit/Material.html
AA Pod
The anti-air pod, coming with version 1.2 is a much smaller device that consumes obsidian to shield bases from silo attacks. Every time the machine defends a shot it required 64 obsidian. Multiple stacks of obsidian can be loaded in the machine. Build the AA pod first (picture at the bottom of this page) and then press the button. A message will appear either saying, "AA pod creation successful" OR "Move pod 1 to the right or left". If the second message shows up, shift the machine over 1 block. Please note that all machines will display this message if they have already been activated. Only move the machine if on the first button press after creation, you get the error.
NB: YOU MUST FACE THE CANNON AND AA POD SOUTH FOR THEM TO WORK! ( When you look at the button, you are facing south)
Upcoming Features
- Early warning system against missile attacks.
- Automatic defense system (Iron Dome)
- Different types of cannons.
- Technical aspects in relation to cannon. Such as: Cooling, electricity and general maintenance.

is this project abandon?
@inxiya
If you have movecraft (nothing against this plugin) I personally suggest using torpedoes above this, as 10 coal blocks is equivilent to a cilo launch (rough estimate)
@GuavaTree Hello, a server I play on has installed this, and they dialed down the cost to launch amd defend attacks to 2 diamond blocks to launch and 4 iron blocks to defend, however we also have movecraft, and with torpedoes I find this to be highly ineffective. So I decided for my town, rather than making a cilo at all, that I would make a defense system. I intended to automate it, and all I really need to know is if the Anti Air Defense needs a button or if I can simply power the iron block when I have a missile launched at me?
Because if you press the button to check if its right you would think its the redstone signal telling it, so maybe if you build it with the button and send a signal from the back?
And: Can you show a more detailed thing of how to make Anti Air Defense? I cant tell whats in the far corner, possibly show it as you showed the cilo please?
Does this have Multiverse Support?
I havent had a chance to use this plugin yet, but can you add something to allow you to change the amount of materials needed pershot, for factions i get it, but for private/server use, yeah... also create something that allows you to configure weather the explosions grief of not. If you already have something i mentioned, correct me if im wrong.
it keeps saying Operation failed and verify if it is built correctly and the ammo and coordinates are correct. The coordinates are right, it is built right and I have the right ammo inside.
@stevogamer
I have resolved the problem. There was a hidden block way above the launcher.
@huntershenep
I got it working for a while using 1.1 but now it won't let me launch. It keeps saying the silo can't have any blocks on top of it. But there aren't any blocks around it. I can't figure out the problem.
I like this idea :) Btw may I suggest you add a smaller type of silo that can be placed in warships or submarines (ex: for movecraft)?
sounds like a fun plugin,
anyone knows if the coder keep it up 2 date or even add more stuff, as as i have seen he has not been on for a good while?
Stevo, don't use the latest version it doesn't work. use the 2nd to latest version
I have tried running this plugin on Craftbukkit 1.7.2 and Spigot 1.7.2. I have also tried it on craftbukkit 1.7.9. When I press the button nothing happens. I have checked and I have built the silo properly. I don't know what I am doing wrong.
Hello, it seems that you're newest update broke for me. but when I put the version on from before it works. Please add me on skype, I'll PM you.
I love this plugin! Please add more and more types of silos! I love this on my server and so do my players!

@GuavaTree
Just an idea, if you wanted to get complex with this plugin maybe you can add different tiers of missile silos and have the lower tier ones have a limited range of where they can fire.
@Jleeevinnn
Hey,
This mod works by simply using a minecart TNT falling from the sky. Due to this, it is possible to use most all mods that effect explosions and their aftermaths. I have performed some preliminary tests on the compatibility of ObsidianDestroyer with SiloLaunch, and it seems that both function together flawlessly. Is there something specific you would like me to look at in relation to ObsidianDestroyer?
Can you hook this up with ObsidianDestroyer plugin and make it damage obsidian a specified number?
@GuavaTree
Did you read that PM I sent you before?
@TheTechPony
Hey,
The hole created by the blast is around 10 blocks wide when fired on dirt. On any harder material the hole decreases to a humble 5 wide and maybe 2-3 blocks deep.
Yeah I will definitely be fixing up the general instructions for the cannon. (Clarifying it) This first version had no time scaling when it comes to how far you fire, but now this upcoming version will have a longer delay depending on the distance. I have implemented measures to fit this in with worldguard and already this version (1.0) works with it. Just turn the tnt explosion flag to deny and no harm can be done.
In terms of the benefits of this plugin compared to placing tnt, the user can remain impossibly far from the destination of the blast. Also, this plugin allows for servers with towny or factions to have tnt explode inside towns, seeing as there is no need to place the tnt (which is blocked in these areas).
Currently 3 diamond blocks are needed every time you fire. Version 1.1 will feature a config file where the server owner can set the desired ammo.
I will try and roll out the next version by tonight/tomorrow.
