SignEdit
Description
This plugin allows you to edit signs while they are still on block/wall they were placed on.
Features
- Logging.. Every edit made to a sign is logged in either console or a separate log file.
- Colours! See the Colours With SignEdit page
- As an added bonus, SignEdit will parse colours when you place a sign.
- SignEdit throws a SignChangeEvent with every edit. This means that if a player is trying to make a sign that they don't have permission to create, they can't! This is compatible with almost every major plugin that uses signs. It also works with HawkEye, so you can see who changed what!

Thanks to VariationVault for featuring SignEdit in a tutorial video on YouTube:
is this for 1.12
The permission signedit.edit doesn't work for me. I have to give signedit.override as well for players to be able to use this plugin. In that case, they can edit signs that they shouldn't, such as the signs in the admin shop, to change prices and such. Is there a way around this?
Using colour codes get counted as characters so I get the "truncated message". I set truncateLines to false but it still truncates.
Bug or limitation?
@1709jamie
Nice work!Thanks!
Could you make it so that you can use special things like nicknames?
So on signs, you could just edit it with {USERNAME} and it replaces {USERNAME} with your username, and it also works with nicknames. So stuff like,
/signedit 1 {FIRECONTROL1847}
The Sign: [Owner]-Fire
With the appropriate colors and everything?
Example:
My username is FireControl1847 My nickname is Fire
If I edited a sign with my username in brackets like so; {FireControl1847};, then it replaces that with my username.
So if a sign said
1: Sup 2: I am 3: awesome 4: butts
/signedit 1 {FireControl1847}
1: Fire 2: I am 3: awesome 4: butts
The plugin doesn’t work properly, because in 1.8 and above, signs can have more characters, which means that editing signs with this plugin doesn’t allow you to have as many characters as you can normally. I really want to use this plugin, or a similar one, in a 1.8.8 server I run with my friends.
So I found out that this plugin wasn't working in 1.10.2 so I made a GitHub to fix it for you guys. This is compiled with the 1.10.2 API

Was working fine on my 1.10 community server until yesterday. For some reason it just broke... with no apparent reason. CheckMyInventory's SignEdit feature broke also.
Dead for 1.9.4+ might work when Tux updates TuxTwoLib
Using Spigot 1.9.2 I currently haven't had any issues, will update if I do. Thank you for the Plugin.
The plugin works in 1.9x but it throws an exception on task 40 every now and then.
Is there a way to place a sign on top of a sign cause when i try is says edit sign each time.
I am in the middle of midterms, but I am hoping to brush some dust off of this plugin in the next month or so. I'm just going to start with getting it back to 100% functioning (no errors). Then I can begin looking at some updates.
It seems to work fine in 1.9, except that it throws exceptions in the console. I'm sad because I doubt it will ever be updated to fix that.
Wow, it acctualy works!
5 star rating
If a sign is regioned with Worldguard, will people still be able to edit the sign? And if a sign is locked, will they be able to edit it still?
thank you so much!
