RegExChatFilter
I'm not visiting Bukkit Dev very often, so please send an email to iiMaXii at djupfryst dot com, if you want a quick response.
RegExChatFilter
Allows you to filter chat messages and commands using regular expressions.
Features
- Allows you to specify your own regular expression filters if you're familiar with this.
Commands
Command | Permission | Description |
---|---|---|
/regex reload | regex.reload | Reload the RegEx filters from the configuration file |
Background
A player on my server found that you can use colours in your chat messages and commands if you use the ยง-symbol together with a number (0-9) or letter (a-f). The most annoying thing with this is that you can use "k" to create rapidly changing letters. This bug seems to be fixed in the later versions of Minecraft (probably since 1.2).
@iiMaXii
Hello, Mr. plugin is the best for filtering IP, domains etc. .. Therefore I would like to ask if you could add a filter such as Komeda: / tell nick <message> or / msg nick <message>.
Yours sincerely
@dropposite
If you want to filter out IP addresses from the chat you could use:
"[0-9]{1,3}\\.[0-9]{1,3}\\.[0-9]{1,3}\\.[0-9]{1,3}"
This will filter out any address (including the invalid ones) in the range 0.0.0.0 to 999.999.999.999. I'm sure there are more accurate ways of doing this, but I'm not too familiar with regular expressions, just google "java regex ip address" or something to find a better solution.
I will continue to update this plugin as long as people are using it. For faster response please send me an email (iimaxii at djupfryst dot com).
i revisited this page to find out how to block server advertisements on my server, and I am little shocked to find no recent comments or updates.
please dont tell me this plugin is discontinued.
Is there a way to filter out the typical xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx spam in chats?
I'm sorry that I haven't updated this plugin in a while and that I didn't implement the reload command as I said I would. I have moved, started studying and I completely forgot this little project. Anyway I have fixed the deprecated chat event and added /regex reload, the new 0.3 version should be available as soon as it gets approved.
can you upgrade this for 1.3 pls :D its using a deprecated chat event apparently
@iiMaXii
This is the best chat filter! We are still using it. Plugin just works. A /reload option as Cilerba said would be great
@Cilerba
What a nice surprise, I weren't aware that anyone were still using this plugin :). Anyway, a reload feature shouldn't be that hard to implement; I'll start working on it as soon as I can.
Any way that you could get a "/regex reload" command in or something like that? It's annoying to have to /reload the server to have the changes take place.
