redProtect
Description
redProtect is an area protection mod made for users. No longer do you need to have an admin worldguard a region for you. The user can take care of themselves now.
Features
- Set a maximum amount of area players can define.
- Select what material you want used, (fence or redstone currently).
- Permission nodes to build in any region, or use commands in any region. Great for admins.
- Very easy to understand, surround your house with redstone, stick a sign with [rp], name your region, and you're done. Great for younger players.
- Automatically detecting info command, users will be shown all available commands.
- Automatic backups, and save. Even if your server crashes, people will retain their protections. You can delete chunks out of the data file and it will still load a backup.
- Two current file formats, oos & oosgz.
- Protects from sky to bedrock.
- Changeable maximum-area via 'options' in PEX & bPermissions. See Maximum Area Config.
- Open source license. Source is available through github. (Link)
Upcoming features
- Json, Yaml, and MySQL support.
- Additional material types.
- Possibly pooling maximum area to create towns.
Installation Tutorial
- Download a build from the 'downloads' page. files
- Start your server once, then shut it off.
- Open "/plugins/redProtect/Config.txt" Edit it to your will.
- Open "/plugins/redProtect/Flags.txt" Make which flags you want on or off by default.
- Add permission nodes from Permission Nodes to your permissions file.
- Optionally set 'maxregionsize' per group, bPermissions' is 'metadata', and PermissionsEX's is 'options: '.

- Using redProtect is as simple as reading "/rp tutorial" and following the steps.
Notable commands
- "/rp i" - Shows information about the current region you're standing in
- "/rp ?" - Shows all available commands to you
- "/rp tutorial" - Gives you a brief tutorial on how to use redProtect.
- "/rp flag info" - Gives you information about the flags your region.

Download
- You can download the main .jar from the 'Files' section. files
Changelog
- 1.8.0: Added long-distance editing, all commands that you need to be in a region to use can now be used with a region name appended to the end. "/rp info testregion" "/rp rename AwesomeName testregion" < Renames testregion to 'AwesomeName'
- 1.9.0: Added support for all major permission plugins through vault. (dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/vault). Fixed the code internally, it's much nicer for people adding sub-plugins now. Also fixed some of the commands, /define and /redefine should be less picky now.
- 1.9.1: Fixed quite a few debug errors, and a few interface changes. (Thanks to GodWar101 and GodWorld)
Added a simple admin wand system, define two points with the wand item and do /rp define [name] to create it.
- Older: Changelog
Closing notes
This plugin uses complicated algorithms such as bounding rectangles and point-in-polygon technology for maximum performance. Feel free to edit, but re-publishing any of my code as a jar will not be tolerated.
Just an idea, if you have keep redstone on, when the region is made the redstone lights up, and if a piece of redstone is broke, the region is unprotected (but griefers can't destroy the redstone) and the sign could say [RP]: Region Broke
Just a thought, would be nice to implement.
@ikillforeyou
Thanks for you reply but there's only an example how to define the region size that players can define? But I want to know how I can configure it that a specefic groupe of Players only can define 1 or two zone's for each player?
Thanks
@BlackHawwk
Go to this link. Maximum Area Config
Hi, sry for that question but how can I define how many area's players can define?
Thanks
@ikillforeyou
I'll try that thanks.
@DimmurWyrd
I'm probably going to make something like this eventually. I'd suggest using a plugin like 'factions' until then though.
I would like to see this plugin expanded greatly :) as it is it's the easiest to use property claim system I have seen/tried. I would like to be able to define mega-regions (countries) major regions (counties) regions (towns) and residences/shops... each with appropriate permissions for example someone could found a country and that person alone would then be able to form the other sub-region types inside the mega-region. they could then sell or rent rights to lower regions anyone owning rights to a major region could define regions and residences and so on. so you could have the original founder (the king) who then assigns duchies (or whatever) and the dukes could then assign burgers/mayors who would then provide shops/residences for the people. each tier would pay taxes to the next one up (rent) this is all within the scope of this kind of mod... I'd love to see FAR more but that would be outside the scope of this mod so I'll refrain from asking hehe. the actual economy portion could be handled by another mod but tied into essentials economy for the rent would be best I think or Iconomy. all regions should have maint costs based on size while rent would be set by the owner of the next region up. that way the king would have to be careful not to get too greedy and only claim what they can maintain until they get enough people in :) well it's an idea eh? also there should be a difference between rent and own. renters would have to accept the permissions the king sets while if the king wants to give more autonomy then he can SELL (or give) the sub-region allowing the new owner to pay tax instead of rent lol same thing except that now the new subject can build and set their own permissions on their region and any sub-regions...this allows for things like hotels or even workshops that are pre-made and stocked with furniture that cannot be stolen hehe. a lot of this is taken from the residence mod but I can't get that one to work right while this one works fine ;) If anyone would like to work with me as an ideas/planner type then please feel free to get hold of me at dimmurwyrd at hotmail dot com and the same at msn messenger. sorry no skype.
@EndCraftMC
Great. =)
@ikillforeyou
Updated to 1.6.2.. Fixed the problem! :)
@keto23
@Puremin0rez
Have you tried using 1.6.2? I'm curious as to if it fixed your problems or not.
@EndCraftMC
It doesn't reference any of my code, so something is wrong with your bukkit.
That's exactly the error I'm getting. Anything after that are player commands/actions. http://pastie.org/3612232 hmm :\
@EndCraftMC
You only pasted part of it, paste the end bit after 'caused by: ' too.
Getting this error in console :s
http://pastie.org/3606459
@jmbftw Go to the following link for a list of all permissions
http://pastie.org/3606103
What are the permissions? every time i click on the link it says error 404 i dont have permission to access this page.
@bfathman6
Yes, it saves 2d polygons, though, they have a 'semi' 3-d aspect.
@ikillforeyou
It does it saves 2-D polygons, and I mean for like Essentials And Other Permission plugins'
@bfathman6
Per-group maximum area is already a feature, see pages.
And worldguard doesn't save polygons as far as I know.
@Puremin0rez
I'll keep mucking about. This is some strange stuff.
