RankMeUp
With this plugin, players can with 1 command use money to go up one rank.
This plugin needs the following 3 plugins installed:
- Permissions (Any permissions plugin supported by Vault (Group Manager seems to only work on some servers), preferably bPermissions)
- Vault
- Economy (Any supported by Vault and (important) Vault's bank feature!)
It will not work without those 3 plugins!
The ranking system is based on the tracks.yml file in the bPermissions folder, or by default the tracks.yml file in your RankMeUp plugin folder. Each time a new rank is bought, the player is promoted to the next rank in that file.
In the plugins config file (config.yml), you can set a default cost for players to pay when they wanna rank up. If you wanna be more precise on some of the ranks, or all the ranks, you can give each rank a custom price under 'costs'. Under 'costs' just simply put the rank name, followed by the price. The ranks not defined, will use the default cost. Set "useOwnTrack" to false, if you use bPermissions, as it allows you to use the tracks.yml file in the bPermissions plugin folder instead.
The plugin have 3 command (with a shortcut command).
- /RankMeUp - Will rank up the player saying it if he has enough money
- /RankMeUp next - Will show how much money you have, and how much more you need
- /RankMeUp player <player> - Will rank up the desired player without using any money
- /RankMeUp help - Will show you the commands with a short description
The shortcut command is /RMU
To allow players to use the RankMeUp command, give them the following permission node:
rankmeup.rankmeup
To allow admins to rank up players without using any money, give them the following permission node:
rankmeup.admin
If you have any questions, please comment or PM me!
This plugin is properbly gonna remain as simple as this, because some people only want this features, and not all the extra stuff.

Just exclude VIP from the track. You can't have multiple tracks.
I have vip rank on my server but i dont want non-donor's to be able to rank up to vip. Basicly is there a way to have different tracks for different players. (I use bPermissions)
Could i use PermissionsBukkit with this plugin.
pls make it for 1.5.2 i need it for my server so i can make it say im the owner pls
Just Wanted to say, amazing plugin, it works just how it should, great job(:
Suggestion
You Should add it so when someone ranks up you can have a message displayed!
@AwesomeDude1677
It sounds like some other plugin is blocking it? Do you have any other large plugins installed?
@bobsqeezeorg
Yeah, it's supposed to be a player controlled plugin, and not console controlled.
I have setup a plugin to do rankmeup player (name) in console, but when, in this case, someone completes a quest and the command runs in console it does rank them up to the first group, but then when they complete another quest, it sets them to the same exact group. For example, in console you type rankmeup player billybob it will says in game to that person "You have been ranked up to group '1'" then you type that command again to try to get him to rank 2 sets him to rank 1 saying the same thing, "You have been ranked up to group '1'". In-game it works fine but in console it doesn't work.
Now my server thinks RMU is out of date. I'll try redowloading it.
I'm sorry but im kind of a noob to making a server but i do know that im using the latest recommended build because i just downloaded it a week ago. I do know that I am running bPermisions and iConomy as well as Vault. I added a default price to rankup but now it doesnt even say /RMU it doesn't even say that the command isn't recognized it just ignores the command. Any Suggestions?

i'm not 100% sure, but i think that you in your bPermissions tracks.yml file have to delete the "default" after "default:" in the top line, så it says:
default: - default
instead of
default: default - default
Also, it miiight fuck it up because your default group, is called default. You could change it to "beginner" or something. If you do that, remember to keep the default cost in the config.yml, but add a beginner cost to the list :)
I added the number after "default:" and now when i go into the game and try to do /rmu it says I'm not in a group allowed to rank up. In bPermissions I have the group with permissions to rankmeup.rankmeup, tracks.* and I don't know why it isn't allowing me to do /rmu. I have also added the command directly to my character in game and it still won't allow it. Its almost like its looking somewhere in my plugin files for the groups but dont know where its getting them. here is a pastie of my bPermissions groups.yml and users.yml. these files are lockate in minecraft>plugins>bPermissions>world

@AwesomeDude1677
Please provide your craftbukkit version, permissions plugin and your economy plugin :)
@Hectic1997
I think it's because you have deleted the default cost to rank up, if the next rank cost is not set in the config file. Just put in a number after the "default:" in the config file. Let me know if it works :)
After is says "rank up p" the rest of the line is "rank up players. Set to false to"
The link to the pastie is below, I posted the Rankmeup config file, tracks.yml, and the bPermssions tracks.yml http://pastie.org/private/ss8jztnmkls1hnfekako2a
Whenever I do RankMeUp commands of any sort it just responds with the text /RMU. Please help me because this plugin is perfect for my server.
@Hectic1997
That's a good offer, but i think we'll just have to fix the problems/errors you have here. :) Start by pasting the tracks.yml and config file via. pastie.org :)
I can try that. But if you could i would really love it if you can code and are good with perms, i can have you come on the server, and let you do them? I could pay you for your time and that way i know they will work and work right? If you could do that i would be greatly appreciative.
@Hectic1997
could you try pasting your tracks.yml file to pastie.org and send me the link? It will never work with Group Manager, but bPermissions should work just fine, as it's originally made for bPermissions.
Tried with both bPermissions and Group manager :/
