NormalizedDrops
We found that on Minecarts.com, monster spawners and traps greatly devalue their loot and makes hunting trivial. While we still allow the use of spawners and traps, we created this plugin to normalize their drops to minimize economic damage.
A sample configuration file is provided below. You can use /ndrop reload
to reload the configuration file.
Note: Reloading plugins with /reload
will clear the tracking history.
debug: false #Log debug messages when normalization occurs
radius: 10 #How close entity events need to be before considered nearby (radius in blocks)
minEvents: 4 #Minimum number of allowed events before normalization
maxEvents: 17 #Any events more than this will cleared of drops, but also the closer this is to min, the rarer drops will be
maxAge: 600 #How long before events expire in seconds
animals: true #Normalize animals
monsters: true #Normalize monsters
Good plugin, but what does normalizing entities mean?
Regards.
Oh alright, I was at work and didn't have the time to test to see if it did.
You know how the old saying goes; When you assume, you make an ass of yourself.
@UltrafaceGuy
It should still work. We're running this on the latest RB.
I'd really love for this to be updated, it is exactly what I need. :(
@kozzy68
It doesn't account for how a mob was spawned, only where it died.
Im gona try this one I hope it still works. also bit more description would be handy. like does it affect other mobs or just spawners ?
@JoneKone
Just uploaded version 1.3.0 with this issue fixed. Thanks for the report and sorry for the delay!

Not yet, but it's something that is planned. I'm not sure when I'll get to it, but I'm really hoping for some native per-world config methods.
Nice this was picked up. The old version used to have per-world config, does this version still have that?
@TrimFlinders
Be sure to pick up the latest version (1.2.3) as soon as it's approved.
awesome. Will be testing this out in a few hours. Good work, and thanks :)

Ah, sorry for the confusion - I thought this was standard practice. No need to edit the jar. Just create plugins/NormalizedDrops/config.yml and add whatever configurations you'd like to override the defaults.
I think TheDarthNix means can you create a NormalizedDrops folder and put a config.yml in there to override the default config because no folder is created when installing the plugin, or do we need to unpack the .jar, edit the config and then repack back into a .jar file.
As most plugins allow the use of a seperate folder to store the config file inside for ease of editting, recreating a .jar file is abit more complicated that usual.
@TheDarthNix
Debug should be off by default. An example config is provided in the repo linked above.
@TrimFlinders
Exp normalization added!
if this worked with XP too, I'd install it today.
Awesome idea mega, and props for a very well designed solution that doesn't seem to break anything else. :) I've always thought that most items dropped by monsters weren't worth farming in the first place, but that aside, I think a change like this should go into the core game. Monster stupidity is too easy to exploit.
What filename do I have to put for the config & in what folder. Plugin is working great but I want to disable debug mode and I can't find the config file.
