NoPillar
NoPillar
A quick and easy way to stop players from building one-block pillars in your world.
Features
- Automatically destroy pillars (blocks are returned/dropped)
- Warns players before action is taken!
- Lots of configurable options!
Configuration
- warnHeight: This is the height a pillar needs to be for a player to be warned.
- maxWarnings: This is the maximum number of warnings a player is allowed before he is punished.
- removePillar: If true, pillars that are built will automatically break.
- minimum-Y: This is the minimum y-level for the plugin to be in effect. This defaults to sea level so people building underground are not affected.
- resetWarningsOnQuit: If true, warnings are reset when a player logs off.
- punishments:
- killPlayer: If true, the player will be killed on punishment.
- kickPlayer: If true, the player will be kicked on punishment.
- warnMessage: This is the message sent to players as a warning.
- punishMessage: This is the message sent to players when punished.
Commands
- /nopillar reload: Reloads the configuration
- Alias: /np reload
Permissions
- nopillar.bypass: Allows you to build pillars without any punishment/warnings
- nopillar.admin: Allows you to use NoPillar's admin commands
like i said .. i would like to use this plugin to generate rocks...
by mixing lava and water and raising generated rock blocks with a piston .. if the generated column will collapse you could regenerate it and collect rocks indefinitely
In reply to atesin_dj:
hi... i have another better solution to generate rock blocks = https://dev.bukkit.org/projects/pistonhopper
however i liked and used this plugin and i would also like to write a similar one with enhanced physics, contact me anybody to discuss it
Caution! This plugin dupes blocks if you are in a protected place (like worldguard) or faction land where you cannot build. If your block setting is too low (for example 3 to 4), people can place blocks on the ceiling and blocks will just dupe and fall to the ground.
Works great in 1.7.2
could this be reached with piston generated pillars too?
it would be very useful
please.. who knows how to get it work with these ones?
The plugin is great but it's causing some annoyance to the players, but I believe it can be fixed. Can you make the plugin bypass when there are blocks diagonally to the pillar instead of just when the blocks are touching the surface of the pillar?
Hi guys, plugin works finŠµ on 1.6.2 but have problem. If player build two pillars one by one block he grants build big pillars on two block size pillar. Thanks. I know, this is problem and no problem/ just warn)
@TheJatoc
Boxes are set to either be sold for a high value, as a house is worth, or given out by console command. There is no way they can obtain it for free. This can be set by group permission, so no risk in this part. But i can't get the author to change anything regarding this.
@TheJatoc
Agree 100%, a creeperheal-ish idiot tower auto-rollback. That is the style of plugin I was hoping to find here when I first read the name. I hope you consider including this type of protection in a future release.
@TheJatoc
Basically, yeah.
@fungreenfox
I took a very quick look at the source and I think the problem may lie in that plugin itself (they have fake blockplaceevents triggering in order to simulate the build in a box owner building the house). I would ask for a feature from build-in-a-box to disable the face blockplaceevents in the configuration so that it doesn't conflict with plugins such as mine. (the downside would be it may open a door to griefers using the builds if you have build in a box available to everyone)
@drnatedogg
So basically you don't want to punish them, but you want the towers to break after a short while?

A nice feature I would appreciate is in the config the ability to set time to true or false and then set the time. The time would be how long after the player creates a tower does the tower break. It would be useful as some players may have legit reasons of needing a tower, so a configurable time would allow them to make these towers, but they would eventually be demolished.
@fungreenfox
Could you link me to this plugin? I've never heard of it before.
When my users buy a build in a box and spawning the house, they are getting kicked for building towers.
This is a bit unknown to me, why this happens, since biab builds its buildings layer by layer, and my pillar config is 8 pillars before kick.
For now, i have had to give all users exempt for nopillar, since we are selling boxes everyday.
There are also options for getting up in other ways than building 1x1 up. I am offering the players a hoverpad, which can be build or even given in a box as a gift or sold. This one takes a few wool, logs, a lamp and a lever and makes a pad, which can go up in any hight. This is the Machina plugin, and there is also for example magic carpet.
@semirotta
Most players don't have anywhere to get to that requires a 1x1 pillar. Pillars will destroy themselves (all configurable) when built initially, but there are ways to get around it. E.g., if a player needs to climb somewhere high, they can build their pillar next to existing blocks. If there are any adjacent blocks, it is not counted as a pillar. As for building 1x1 pillars underground to climb up caves, etc. that's not a problem because the plugin has an option to ignore all pillars under sea level so that it only stops the 1x1 buildings above ground.
What if a player needs to get up somewhere? usually players make a 1x1 pillar which they break afterwards :D
@UnUltima23
This only affects 1x1 pillars. You can still build high walls if you don't start with a 1x1 pillar: e.g. place 2 blocks at a time instead of one. This isn't meant to be a foolproof antigriefing plugin. It just helps stop the random 1x1 towers that people make for no reason. However you idea is great and I'll consider adding it in the next version.
