MoxieSkills
MoxieSkills is a skills plugin like none you've ever seen before. Having had three previous recodes, the current version is as fast and efficient as you will ever see. Train yourself in a range of fifteen unique skills to beat your friends. With hiscores, good interfacing and challenging levelling, you'll never be bored.
What Does MoxieSkills Do?
- Competitive levelling formula
- Vast range of skills
- Skill leaderboards
- Skill and XP dynamics similar to that seen of online MMOs
- Multipliers for individual players and their skills
- MySQL Database support
- Each skills is highly configurable - each has it's own file!
This plugin uses an email API to automatically report errors. I do not receive passwords (this would break Bukkit rules). If you want to keep your email anonymous, use Yahoo! email, otherwise use GMail (only Yahoo! and GMail are supported). There is also an option to send your server IP to improve communications. This plugin also uses an auto-updater and MCStats.
A great job!. It is a simple plugin well, today I tried it on my server and I liked a lot, but I have a problem with the rewards, when it increases my level in a skill gives me no reward. Why does this happen?
My settings reward is this:
money: Initial: 1 Multiplier: 1.0 Single: 1: # The 'level: 5' here means That This Will Be rewarded at level 5. Level: 2 Type: money ID: null Amount: 500 2: Level: 3 Type: item ID: 278 Amount: 1 Recurring: 1: # The 'level: 5' here means That This Will Be rewarded every 5 levels. Level: 4 Type: item ID: 89 Amount: 3
If you can help me I would greatly appreciate it
How do we perform abilities using this plugin? Does this nice plugin have any tutorial videos? :)
@x3nec
While I'm going over the skills, I'm also writing (not writing actual code, just making up some system) "game mechanics" associated with those skills, such as status effects, elements, critical hits, etc., since those are very RPG-ish elements to combat. :)
So I was just wondering, how hard, or how likely do you think it would be to implement "elemental attacks" into the plugin? This will basically mean that there are "elemental weaknesses" and attacking an elemental weakness with a certain element will multiply the damage accordingly.
ok is work all i need to do was downloading vault lol
Please update and fix this problem when i type in /moxie /moxie come back and it don't work
@NobMapster
All form of abilities will be taken from moxie2 and put into a separate plugin for moxie3, makes it all run a bit faster :)
So just to clarify..
If you level up your mining skill, it doesn't have any direct effect on things like your mining speed or drop quantity?
Likewise with woodcutting.. These levels don't have any effect on the efficiency of the action that it is rewarding you for?
@Gartral
"For more detailed access to permissions, click here"
what's the perm node for the signshop? >.<
Can you make a permission node a possible reward?
@Chsteerr
Fairly soon, I'm hoping before next week, but things at school can easily crop up - it is making progress though.
when du you can finish MoxieRpg?
@CommodoreAlpha
As for your ability ideas, just PM them to me, and they might make their way into MoxieRPG! :D
@IamMcDylan
I think it's too precise a skill, although if I get the time, I guess I could consider it, but that might not be for a few weeks yet.
It would be awesome if there could possibly be a lockpicking skill that links in with LoreLocks
@CommodoreAlpha
One step ahead of you :D Basically, the MoxieSkills rebuild for V3 was to enable the mysql support, but also to allow external plugins to register abilities with the plugin easily. I did this for MoxieRPG. That way, a plugin can handle abilities, but also have the option to have it unlocked in MoxieSkills first. This could be adapted to commands, permissions, or abilities, as long as the developer knows how to handle it :)
I'm not sure how it would work exactly, but it would be awesome if you could have other people make "ability sets" devoted entirely to your plugin, like a few developers did for Heroes.
For example, the plugin, Heroes, itself has some abilities, but you can download more abilities developed by other people to use in Heroes. This could take a lot of stress off of you when your plugin catches the attention of other developers, and those developers decide to share their abilities. (Which could then be incorporated into your plugin, if you wanted.)
Speaking of abilities, I've a massive amount of ideas for those. I could practically carpet-bomb the comments if I tried to list them all. :D
And again, I like where the plugin is headed. Keep it up.
@McBirdCraft
I think that goes a bit far for Moxie, but you could check out Codisimus's plugin Lores? And link that with the command/permission rewards?
Is it possible to add names or enchantments to items rewarded upon leveling? Also, what are these "wands"?
@IamMcDylan
Yup, added by tomorrow afternoon, which is also conveniently the time when MoxieSkills V3.0 will become available! Could you maybe PM me your config/locale/tools/xpvalues files so that i can work on getting some sort of file update going? cheers :)
@x3nec
Would it be possible to make it run a certain command upon leveling?
