motd
Download (1.12.1 ready): v1.3-alpha1
Overview
motd is a lightweight MOTD and basic command plugin for your minecraft server.
There are lots of 'basic commands' plugins around here, but most of them have lots of features you will never need - or they do not allow you to deactivate them easily. They often cause lag and make configuring your server a pain in the * because there is no documentation.
With motd I made a simple, yet powerful plugin for creating advanced, custom colored and formatted MOTDs, who lists and rules. If you do not have the time to always be around on your server, rtp and vtime can help you. Even if you decide to install permissions on your server, motd is ready for that change.
Commands
- who
- rtp [playername / yes]
- vtime [dawn / day / evening / night]
- ip
- motd
- rules
Permissions Nodes
- motd.ip.use
- motd.who.use
- motd.rtp.yes
- motd.rtp.request
- motd.vtime.use
- motd.rules.use
- motd.motd.use
- motd.edit
- motd.reload
note that motd.rtp.request includes motd.rtp.yes

no
So there is no way to make it exact center by using a code like [center], align=center etc...?
Try putting the text in quotation marks and then put spaces in there like: "---------Your Text" (- = space)
How can I center text in the MOTD?
@zweizeichen
Yea I miss read, I thought you integrated your own superperm but I think you actually just added Superperm support so plugins like PEX can be used to handle permissions if I enable the third-party permissions.
Edit: Main Page needs color list since for some reason you went with <yellow> instead of the usual &e
@ledhead900
It is turned off by default and using permissions is fully optional. Removing the permission code would only increase speed in the range of nanoseconds. As I said before: if it's turned off it does not even execute that piece of code so the addition of superPerms does not have a noticeable impact on performance. I even removed about half of permissions related code in the latest beta side it is not needed with superPerms.
EDIT: motd now supports superPerms compatible permissions (like PEX...) but it does not integrate an own system. This means you can use the nodes again with newer versions of Bukkit and common permissions plug-ins which use the superPerms API not that I made a replacement for PEX or something like that.
@zweizeichen
Um can we remove the permissions system ?, 90% of servers that actually would care about a motd plugin would be using a superperms plugin already like PEX or something else just as decent.
I saw this and saw lightweight then went to download then saw added permissions system and canceled download.
EDIT NVM I miss understood I though you added a built in permissions system like a separate permissions plugin built in. But I think it just added option to use permissions for commands.
The version 1.2_BETA1 has superPerms integrated now. Please test the new build!
@wolnavi
Copy the rules to the motd string and you're done.

You are able to reload the plugin from console by typing 'reload motd'. Your server then will only reload motd.
Hey, not sure if you're still actively looking at/working on this, but I'd like to ask for something too. If you could make the plugin's reload command work when you use it from the console, that would be ideal. I use Bukkit's built-in permissions at this point, and I am pretty much forced to restart the server to change the motd with this. I don't change it that often, so this works, but I'd really like to be able to /motd reload.
Also, support for the built-in permissions system would be nice, though looking at your code, it wouldn't be much fun to implement.
can you make it like when i join the game, without giving the command, the rules will be together with the motd please thanks.
Zweizeichen, I have been a user of your simple mod on our server since the Beta 1.73 days and like its simple functionality very much. I do have two requests that would make it perfect though:
First, update the permissions section to be compatible with SuperPerms and its derivative plugins
and Second, support & codes for color to make it compatible with Rei's Minimap radar function.
Thanks for your time.
@eriorkless
Thank you for your suggestion. The fix is implemented in the experimental repository now and will be included in the next release.
Could you make the /vtime multiworld compatible? Whenever my players use it they end up changing all the worlds time or not at all xD
Thanks, I've been using your plugin for a while and I love it.

The rtp function of this plugin is brilliant. I thanketh you greatly. :D
Thank you, that plugin is freaking awesome! :) I finally find one, that don's want me to set up that whole permissions mess :)
nvm permission is working now.. was my fault..
but some limitations would still be nice though
this is awsome but i can't get permissions working with it. seem slike every user has the permission to do everything :-/ and there should be a time limit between votes
