MineralManager
Mineral Manager
This plugin is designed to allow server administrators to have tighter control over their server's economy as well as introduce new and interesting experiences for their players. MineralManager is the second generation of the MineralVein plugin; with improved performance, customization, control, and reliability it makes a big jump forward from the original concept.
This plugin works by allowing specified blocks to regenerate after they've been broken. From Cactus to Diamond, from Dirt to Logs, admins can control which blocks are allowed to respawn, where they're allowed to respawn, and what should take their place when they're broken. This plugin also allows for a bit of randomness in its regeneration by using a degradation parameter that causes blocks to sometimes forgo respawning when they're broken.
You can do anything from creating public mines near spawn filled with iron and coal that never breaks so new players get started quicker to having secret forests that regenerate completely after enough time as passed. Diamonds would become something for your players to guard and protect rather than something to find, mine and move on. An innocent patch of grass could even have gold ore hidden inside. The possibilities are endless and the excitement is contagious! Make your server unique and fun with this easy, yet intricate plugin.

This project is on haitus right now as I'm extremely busy with work and family. I apologize for the slow update and the lack of information and transparency with the project. Hopefully as time goes on I'll be able to continue development and get back to updating and maintaining the plugin! If you are interested in picking up the project as a developer please send me a personal message and we can discuss the particulars. Thanks for all your support and I hope to get back to this project as time allows!Crastor is currently maintaining MineralManager!

@hellfire212
Chill out guys. @FlOppythp, you have the developer status so I am assuming you can make plugins. Maybe if you ask @hellfire212 to upload the source to GitHub or BitBucket, you could modify it to your liking and use it on your server. Just calm down lol.
@Fl0ppythp Like I had said in my previous post, while your idea is really great it doesn't fit well with how we've written our plugin or the core philosophy behind it so we're not going to be able to implement what you suggested. I'm sorry that we can't help you express your idea but with the limited time we have to work on the plugin it's more beneficial for us to fix bugs and work on general improvements so for now we probably won't work on adding a new feature like the one you suggested.
@Phynoxum Thank you very much for that! We know people love this plugin which is why it's so hard not being able to put in the time we'd like to working on it. We're glad that we have as many people as we do still using the plugin and we appreciate any feedback that we get, even if we might take a bit longer to get around to responding to or addressing any issues! Thanks again for sticking with us!
Hellfire and Crast, I want to thank you for keeping this plugin going! I absolutely love this plugin because it diminished the need for infinite exploring underground to find more ore (limits physical server size). I also really like this plugin because it gives people incentive to clean up their mines, as in develop them into looking like actual mines with wood, tracks,signs, etc. because ore will respawn. My server has residency, which makes claiming land ownership that much more beneficial when coupled with this plugin.
I really hope to see you guys keep it going, and just know that some people appreciate what you do!
Hellfire i just sent you a PM go and check it out i have some errors going on.
@FlOppythp
Hi Floppy,
If you're having any issues with the plugin please submit a ticket with the relevant information and we'll work on resolving your issue as soon as possible!
I apologize for not responding to your PM you sent back in May, I don't frequent Bukkit as often as I used to and I must not have seen the message last time I was on. The functionality you are looking for is definitely possible, but unfortunately MineralManager takes a different approach to handling respawning ores and your feature doesn't really fit with the main philosophy of the plugin. :(
I would suggest just setting up the plugin to respawn ores 20minutes from when they're mined however as this would provide a similar result to what you're looking for although I know it's not exactly what you want.
If you need help changing the config.yml please take a look at the guides posted, or else ask here in the comments and people generally won't mind lending you a hand or explaining how to get the results you want! :)
@BenRush
Edit the config.yml, in particular the displayMessages
How I can turn off all messages? i don't need them
@semirotta
I would consider using a water map with a depth of 15 and build your world. Im doing that and making public mines and it works wonders.
@Crast
Crast, is there a way I can change the respawn time of ore for example: Members who have permission to be in a special mine that has lower respawn times. Instead of having the base time for coal can I change that?
@semirotta
That's something more in the realm of world generation, and really outside the scope of MineralManager. (Though MineralManager could be used once you had such a world generator to set up your public mine)
Certainly, if you put a fixed limit on exploration (like with WorldBorder) and then replaced all ores with stone (like with MCEdit or WorldEdit), you could set this up, but if you want a freely explorable world this could only be done with a new world generator, or some way to tune the existing one.
One easy option is to just not bother, and set up your public mine only in a set region because all the minerals in the world outside that set region will never respawn, so they can only be accessed once and will go away.
is it possible to generate a world with NO ORES at all, then i could use this plugin to make a puplic mines where players can mine and the ores would respawn again after a while ?

@Ieroy
It still works with the latest CB.
There, I "updated" it.
FWIW, almost 70% of the servers using MineralManager are using 1.5.2 right now: http://mcstats.org/plugin/MineralManager
How do I turn off the message it gives you, with the whole, magic is gathering in this area, please wait! Is there a way to turn that off?
This plugin was so amazing. Genuinely one of my favorites. Please update this to the latest CB.
Could you please update to 1.5.2, I could really use this for my server!
Update please!!
Please update this. I would suck your D if you do.
Please update, genius plugin! :)
Hello, creators of mineral manager. I've been testing this plugin quite a bit and I've found a few issues with it. I've noticed that when a block is mined, whether it spawns a replacement block, or if the respawn time is on 0, and it respawns, the ore dropped is trapped inside the block and does 1 of 3 things, launches in a random direction, is picked up by your person, or if there are blocks above it, it gets launched to the surface, which is a much larger issue than what it sounds. To fix this, I tried downloading a plugin called Personal Pickup , which made it so the ores just go directly into your inventory instead, but it seems to just bypass the code which is your plugin, I'm sure there is a logical reason why, but I haven't taken the time to go thru the code.
I was wondering if you could find a way to fix the issue with the ores dropping properly or if you could make a fix for compatibility with the Personal Pickup plugin.
Thanks for your time. :)
Yo! hows the coding going and GL on updating and getting all those cool features in Hellfire212 and Crastor.
