MineralManager
Mineral Manager
This plugin is designed to allow server administrators to have tighter control over their server's economy as well as introduce new and interesting experiences for their players. MineralManager is the second generation of the MineralVein plugin; with improved performance, customization, control, and reliability it makes a big jump forward from the original concept.
This plugin works by allowing specified blocks to regenerate after they've been broken. From Cactus to Diamond, from Dirt to Logs, admins can control which blocks are allowed to respawn, where they're allowed to respawn, and what should take their place when they're broken. This plugin also allows for a bit of randomness in its regeneration by using a degradation parameter that causes blocks to sometimes forgo respawning when they're broken.
You can do anything from creating public mines near spawn filled with iron and coal that never breaks so new players get started quicker to having secret forests that regenerate completely after enough time as passed. Diamonds would become something for your players to guard and protect rather than something to find, mine and move on. An innocent patch of grass could even have gold ore hidden inside. The possibilities are endless and the excitement is contagious! Make your server unique and fun with this easy, yet intricate plugin.

- [January 2, 2013] MineralManager is looking for another developer to take over maintenance and updating of the plugin! If you're an experienced Java programmer with at least 2 years of experience and at least 1 moderately successful bukkit plugin please contact me via PM if you're interested in working on the MineralManager plugin. You must also be familiar with VCS's like GitHub since we have the project hosted there. Thank you all for your support and I hope with another developer working on the project you will see more consistent updates.

This project is on haitus right now as I'm extremely busy with work and family. I apologize for the slow update and the lack of information and transparency with the project. Hopefully as time goes on I'll be able to continue development and get back to updating and maintaining the plugin! If you are interested in picking up the project as a developer please send me a personal message and we can discuss the particulars. Thanks for all your support and I hope to get back to this project as time allows!Crastor is currently maintaining MineralManager!

MineralVein is looking for a name change! I mistakenly named my plugin after an already existing one so I'm looking for your help to pick out another awesome name! Vote in the poll or add your own submission in the comments section! There will be 2 rounds of voting, this first initial round and then another round with the top choices from round 1 and any fan submissions that have a lot of likes!Results here!
ore respawn, block respawn, renewable, renewable resources, renewable blocks, respawning ores, cooldown ores, runescape, mining, mines, remine, blocks go on cooldown after they're mined, mined blocks respawn, blocks respawn, ore respawn, ore generator, blocks degrade, minerals respawn, mineral generator, mineral cooldown, mineralvein, mineral vein, public mines, public mining, group mines, ores respawn, ores regenerate, persistence, persistent, development, man-made
Can this plugin be configured to regenerate Tekkit ores?
@hellfire212
Hello,
Correct me if I am wrong but the degrade feature removes the ore completely? Making it never respawn in that spot again, as I run an RPG server I would really like to introduce some skill gathering rather than just combat, obviously doing so would cause my world to be destroyed and if I opened mines It would mean me constantly re-filling them. This plugin was my answer, however I am having some trouble with the overall setup and lack of documentation provided, possibly a video tutorial and or more documentation would be very nice.
Also is there any future possibility for farming crops etc. to be respawnable? I'd like to introduce Herbalism to the server using the same methods.
@Waterworth12
WorldGuard / WorldEdit region support is a feature we're interested in implementing. However due to the difference in the way our plugin handles regions and WorldGuard regions its currently not very high up on the list of priorities. Hopefully some day there will be support for it but most likely not in the near future.
For the change to respawn setting, you're looking for the "degrade" parameter. The degrade is the probability of the block not respawning. Thus if every time you mine a block you want it to respawn instantly with a 25% probability you would set degrade to 0.75 and cooldown to 0.
I hope this helps! Feel free to ask more questions if you need clarification. :)
@diannetea
Could you create a ticket for this issue so we can properly address it? Hopefully with more information we'll be able to help you! :)
This is no longer working for me :(
I get this error on startup: http://pastebin.com/gFGnTeuZ
Worldguard/worldedit support for regions?
Chance to respawn setting instead of a set time would be nice also.
Thank you so much for making this amazing plugin! I plan on using this on my server, I'm really hoping it stays maintained in the future! Thanks for your hard work in advance Crastor!
@Monitomen
Trying working through this tutorial here and maybe you'll see what you did wrong? If its not user error try updating your bukkit or delete both the MineralManager.jar file and the MineralManager folder from your plugins and redownload and add it again.
I hope this helps!
im really interesting on this plugging but when i try to run it on my server the setup wont respond, i type /mm create, i get prompt what type i type world but nothing happens.
@givemhell1345
The logs should respawn when cut down with tree-feller in mcmmo. I tested it with the latest version of Bukkit and it worked fine. It does not re-spawn the leaves that are destroyed though however.
It might help to make sure you have all the different types of logs in the configuration however it might be something we need to look into if you still can't get it to work.
just note both plugins timber and mcmmo, and both can knock down trees by breaking bottom block or activating tree feller and both do not trigger the re spawns for the logs
and thanks for much for the update on this epic plugin!
Thanks for the update.
@UnSHaken
Unfortunately it probably wouldn't get fixed until another developer came along and decided they were interested / had the time to work on it. As it is currently, neither Crastor or myself have the time to work on the project. However, it was written robustly enough that anything short of a severe change to Bukkit shouldn't affect it.
@hellfire212
if it was to break how long would it take for someone to fix it?
@UnSHaken
It still runs! I just tested it with the latest version of Bukkit and there don't seem to be any problems. :)
Does anyone know if this still runs? Or if there is another plugin like this?
I love this plugin, this is really great! I know there hasn't been any updates in awhile and if I were more experienced with programming I would love to take over this project to keep it going! Just wanted to thank you for this; haven't really seen any other plugins like it
@hellfire212
Hopefully, I'm afraid that with minecraft changing their API and bukkit following suit to keep up with minecraft that in a few patches the plugin might crash. And that would suck figuring what my server uses it for.
@jwmpine
Unfortunately updates have been on hold for quite some time. However, the plugin was build very robustly and all of the current functionality should continue to work throughout future versions of Bukkit. Should time allow or if someone ends up picking up the project hopefully updates will resume.
Since your looking for a maintenance person that mean you are stopping updates?
