LoreLocks is a plugin which allows you to physically secure your chests with chest locks and traps.

Locks
Locks come in 6 difficulties, 1-5 change the cylinder count of the lock and the 6th difficulty makes the lock unpickable, or in other words only the person which has the key can open the lock.
To create a key of a lock simply drop a lockpick on it.
Depending on the difficulty locks have a different amount of cylinders
- Difficulty 1 has 3 cylinders
- Difficulty 2 has 4 cylinders
- Difficulty 3 has 5 cylinders
- Difficulty 4 has 6 cylinders
- Difficulty 5 has 7 cylinders
Then place it in the first slot of the chest (upper left slot) to lock the chest. Make sure to create a key by dropping a lockpick onto the lock before locking the chest if you want to avoid picking your own chest every time.
If you forget to create a key from an unpickable lock ask an admin for help, he can bypass the lock and open the chest for you.
Traps
Traps are items which will secure your chest even more, to add a trap to a chest place it in the second slot, right next to the lock.
They are triggered when a player fails to pick the chest, i.E. whenever he clicks the wrong cylinder and the lock gets reset.
Types of traps
The damage trap
Damage traps damage the player which is trying to pick the lock every time he fails to pick the right cylinder. Power determines the amount of hearts (not half hearts) which are taken away.
The explosive trap
Explosive traps create an explosion on the location of the player failing to pick the lock. The explosion does not damage any blocks. For the power of explosive traps check this wiki article.
The poison trap
Poison traps apply the poison potion effect to the player failing, the power attribute determines the level of the poison effect.
The power attribute ranges from 1-127.

Multiplying keys is indeed a problem.
I'll add a way to create keys from other keys (like it is done in reality), most likely it will be just dropping a lockpick onto a key.
About the tutorials: When I do a video I'll for sure also add everything in textform ;)

I'm really sorry that it sounds to you like I want to hide from something I couldn't fix, I just don't really understand where your problem lies. :s
You CAN have keys for your doors, they are created for doors like they are created for chests. Just drop a single lockpick onto the lock in your inventory.
The reason why doors are not set up like chests is that it doesn't make much sense to me to have an inventory for something that in reallity has none. It just doesn't fit into the flow of the game. When you rightclick a chest you expect an inventory to open up, when rightclicking on a door (independent on wheter you have an item in your hand or not) you don't expect the game to show you some kind of inventory. So I thought of the most simple and intuitive way to add a lock to a door: simply rightclick it with the lock.
If you still have problems I'm planing to make some tutorial videos in the near future to clear things up :)

Keys are not specific to doors, you make them for the lock, like you do before putting the lock into a chest.
The door is pickable by rightclicking like I said.
Your config wouldn't give me more information, but if things aren't working for you I can debug it with your config to check where the problem is.

When I say "for me it works fine" I mean that I tested it and it works like it was intended :)
If anything of this isn't working for yor, you would help me to fix it if you would paste me your config, then I could check what exactly is wrong with it and fix it.

I tested doors multiple times now, for me it works fine, could you upload your config to pastebin and send me the link?
I'd check the problem then again with your config.
About the permissions: I'm also not happy with this, I'll change this in one of the next versions (along with addition of permissions for usage maybe), It will most likely change to something like this:

Yup is compiled for 1.7.5 (sadly not selectable when uploading :( ) and works without a problem.
The ghost-items problem seems only to appear with 1.7.2

I've uploaded a new version (awaiting approval), it will contain changes to the config so back up your config and delete it to get the new config.

God I missed this plugin
Ok I've uploaded a new compiled version.
It works (not visually perfect) but it seems to work.
I couldn't directly reproduce any problems with doors getting reset or lockpicks "breaking" so I guess these problems are fixed with this update.
In the following days I'll look into the changes in the bukkit-api and fix the incompatibilities which cause the currently ugly lockpicking screen (ghost items appearing while picking).
A statement
First of all I'm sorry that I haven't written any reason for my long absence.
I've had a lot of personal problems which left me with too less personal time to manage the personal projects I was working on.
My current state is that I still have very few personal time which will change in the next months where I can work with much more time on my personal projects again.
As soon as I find some free time I'll update the plugin to the current Minecraft/Bukkit Version and maybe even find time to work on fixes/features.
