I will add a "Future" Section to the Description.
@alf980103
Sure, next Version only for you =D
This could be VERY useful .. if I may make a few suggestions for some changes although it might seem a bit drastic to change so much, this may end up being a very popular plugin if finished.
Below is a few suggestions:
If it was made so everyone is unknown to everyone unless they use /know on someone in which case only those 2 players will know each other instead of the entire server.
A password system to stop people sitting at a spawn point using /know just by seeing the name above the head would also be nice, the password which the player would set them self or randomly generated will be able to change for it to improve security (in the case of a password being leaked to the public.)
[Automatically assigning a players name to unknown on join has potential to be a good tool however it is very similar to letting people have /nick and deny all usage of /realname [essentials]..if you have overpowered ranks that usually tp and kill people all day a few fixes to this plugin could give the simple noob a bit of protection. You will see that below is a few suggestions relating to this game issue]
This protection could be further improved if things were changed so that when a player used /know [name] pvp is disabled between them as they are "friends" but if they don't know the player then any commands like /message [name], /tp [name] or /kill [name] wont work as the name is unknown to them even if they do know the real name.
A way to "un-know" or forget people might also be useful if friends want to pvp eachother if /know will disable pvp and an on/off option for pvp in config as I'm not sure this would be needed so much if the forget option is enabled.
The only thing I dont like about this plugin in it's current state is that it takes one person to use /know on someone then everyone on the servers knows them. It just seems like you would have to do the command on everyone to get the server "back to normal". When you get a lot of players on this would be an annoyance to the staff as they would have to use /know on someone every 5 mins this would drive admins crazy.. But on the other hand.. This could be used as a sort of ranking up challenge to become "known on the server" and without changing groups this could include boss fights dungeons or puzzle solving with a end reward as a command block or trigger to console command using /know on the person who triggered it. If that would work then this plugin would be useful as it is for that reason alone.
This plugin as it stand does run the risk of being redundant as it is not unique. There is already a way to replicate this exact same feature on a server using any group management system. all one would need to do would be to make a default group with the prefix ending with &k to scramble the name (some may even say it looks better than saying Unknown) and instead of using /know give people a way to get the next rank which is more fun than using /know. This group won't have the &k prefix thus giving them their name.
The plugin is nice and has a cool feature as it doesn't conflict with groups, one could even attain the highest group and still be unknown which is cool but I would much rather see some of the suggestions I made above if you would consider working on it a bit more DarkCookieee but overall nice plugin and idea.
All the best from,
lil
