- Buy and sell islands
- Grief protection
- Welcome and farewell messages
- Vault, WorldGuard and Dynmap compatibility
Installation
IMPORTANT: As IslandCraft heavily modifies the terrain generation, it can destroy your worlds if you're not careful with the configuration. BACK UP EVERYTHING BEFORE INSTALLING. You have been warned.
Instructions can be found here.
Configuration
IMPORTANT: After changing "ocean" or "island-distribution" you must reset your IslandCraft world. So make sure you get these right before spending much time playing on the world. To reset the IslandCraft world, you need to delete the file "server/plugins/IslandCraft/IslandCraft.db" and the folder "server/world_islandcraft". And then recreate the world using Multiverse or Multiworld.
You can safely add/remove/modify the "island-generators" without needing to reset your world. Islands which have already been generated or partially generated will continue to use whatever settings you had when they were created. Islands in newly explored chunks will adopt the new settings.
Instructions can be found here.
Plugin Developers Guide to the IslandCraft API
DISCLAIMER: Consider the API features of IslandCraft to be in Beta. They have not been thoroughly tested and are subject to change in the future. I would love to hear any feedback you have if you try to use this!
Information for plugin developers who wish to integrate with or modify/extend IslandCraft can be found here.
What happened to the other features?
While in alpha, IslandCraft included some chat and other miscellaneous features. These have all been removed as there are other plugins you can use for this purpose. Going forward, IslandCraft will have a much narrower feature set focusing on just the islands.
The RealEstate features (including Vault, WorldGuard and Dynmap integration) will be making a return in a new separate plugin. Separating these from the terrain generation provides a number of benefits. It helps me to keep them on separate release cycles, so I can release updates for the terrain generation very quickly as new versions come out. It has forced me to create an API so the plugins can cooperate, this will also allow others to make plugins which integrate with IslandCraft.
Public Servers Running IslandCraft
Are you running a public server with IslandCraft? Feel free to advertise in the comments below or on the forums.
Lately I've been playing on Anvil Network's PlunderSeas. A great server which combines IslandCraft with MoveCraft for the ultimate pirating experience!
Also check out The Homestead server, looks like a great community of mature players!
Data Collection
This plugin sends statistics about the usage to http://mcstats.org/plugin/IslandCraft. If you wish to disable this data collection, follow the instructions to server owners for opting-out which can be found here.
More
More information can be found on the IslandCraft wiki.
Edit: I got it to work! :D but it's loading chunks in random places and the islands have some chunks cut off. Is there a way to fix that? NEVERMIND, I read around and got it fixed. Thanks A bunch!
@Fistleo
The fastest way to see results would be:
Note that this config.yml will apply IslandCraft to the default world, so when you log into your server just jump in creative/spectator and fly around to make sure it worked. The default config.yml applies IslandCraft to a world called "world_islandcraft" which you have to create manually. (The difference is line 16).
If you have any specific questions about the above, please ask. Let me know if you do (or don't) get it working!
@Liger_XT5
It seems at least one person would really appreciate that! ;)
I'm trying to set my server up with just Islandcraft but I'm having troubles. I've looked over the installation guide but i'm not getting results. Is there a way anyone can help me?
Edit: I think making a video to show how to set it up would help out a lot. I've been at this for an hour and can't get anything to work.
@toffeefudge
Absolutely!
There isn't an option to generate only 1 island, but you can set the ocean size to something huge to ensure that no one will get to the other islands. Here is a configuration which should work for you: https://gist.github.com/hoqhuuep/e6d5f026aa88ea336f33 It will create jungle islands that are about 2,048 blocks wide and about 1,048,576 blocks apart. You should only ever reach the island at spawn.
This configuration will enable this generation for a world called "world_islandcraft", if you prefer to replace the default world, change this in the configuration to "world".
Let me know if you have any further issues getting it running!
Hey I'm I'm desperate need for a massive jungle biome island, is there anyway I could edit the properties to do this? Or could u send me a generated world or something?
@hoqhuuep
Yay <3
@Liger_XT5
Updated! Let me know if you have any issues :D
@Liger_XT5
Thanks for letting me know! I'll see what I can do ;-)
Islandcraft does not work on the newest Spigot which is updated for MC 1.8.3.
The only thing that comes up is it stating: Does not currently support this craftbukkit version.
I could do a setup video, If it is needed!
Hello !
This plugin looks like great fun, I'll try it out when I get a host ;3
@stormchaser206
I'm not really set-up for making a video myself... If anyone would like to make one let me know!
What would you like to see a video of? The setup process? Just flying around an island world? Something else?
Will a video come out?
Updated to 1.8. Please let me know if you have any issues. Sorry for the delay!
Also, please be informed that I have added some data collection (I'm really curious how many people are actually using the plugin!) This plugin sends statistics about the usage to the server http://mcstats.org/. If you wish to disable this data collection, follow the instructions to server owners for opting-out which can be found here.
Enjoy!
Please update for Craftbukkit 1.8! Thanks :D
My pirates server is running IslandCraft, I have used it before and I'm of course very satisfied with it! IP: mc.2ndLyfe.com Website: www.2ndLyfe.com
@hoqhuuep
Spigot is releasing 1.8 today, I have only JUST found this plugin and as you can see from my banner would suit my server perfectly! http://www.spigotmc.org/threads/bukkit-craftbukkit-spigot-1-8.36598/
I love this plugin. How is the "rivers" update coming?
I'm very excited for Sponge. Bukkit has been getting really old and boring. Now that it can run a mix of Vanilla and Forge clients, it is going to be incredible for servers and clients. I am really looking forward to the future of hosting as well as Islandcraft being update for it!
@hoqhuuep
I did some destructive testing and I can clarify it does work :)
