Grappling Hook is an original plugin that I made for everyone that wanted a grappling hook in Minecraft. For any issues with the plugin, please submit a ticket. Enjoy!
Hey Developers!
Grappling Hook comes fully equipped with an easy to use API! Just click here to learn how to use it!
I have put many hours of work into all of my plugins and it is my hope than anyone who enjoys the features they bring to their server will donate. Thank you.
For some reason, I have to set use_permissions to 'true' to get permissions to work, not just true.
The grapplinghook.give permission doesn't work at all, still only works for OPs.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9XmPGGvLuM Just made a video about this plugin@! Great work!
@kasukali
Yeah sure. I can add that feature in the next update. Just so I remember though, can you submit a ticket? And thanks a lot for the donation! I sent you a message through Bukkit.
Could you possibly add in a feature to disable crafting of them? I'm thinking of making them exclusive to events, since they alone are quite OP.
Also, sent in a donation! :)
@alexandercitt
Yes I will change the durability variable into number of uses for the next update. Great suggestion!
Attack on Titan please!
Will you add durability to the Grappling Hook? So you are only able to use 1 Grappling Hook x times? (I prefer 10 times)
@monstermanjake1
No worries. In the config.yml file located inside of the Grappling Hook folder, you can set usePermissions to false.
I'm going to sound retarded but how do I edit the permissions so that non-ops can use it? HELP
@podus_
Ah okay I got you. Yeah as long as you do not release it publicly I dont mind. You can hack at it all you want as long as you keep it for private use. I will message you.
@tooner101
Planning on having it unlock at a certain mcmmo level.
@podus_
I just dont understand why you want to build it with McMMO. You can have both plugins running together and it will still work fine.
This might be a little too much to ask for but I am looking to add a similar function as this into the plugin McMMO, but as I am pretty new to bukkit coding I cant seem to figure out how I would achieve this.
If you wouldn't mind sharing your source code so I could get a rough idea of how I could do it it'd be greatly appreciated, this will only be for private use on my server. I'll completely understand if you don't feel safe sharing it.
Thanks!
@PoemofDarkness
Drop the downloadable .jar file into your /server/plugins folder via ftp of windows explorer if you're on a local system.
I'm having a bit of trouble putting it into my game. I'm not even sure how plugins work (derp). Can someone help me please?
Thanks for creating and sharing this plugin.
Grappling Hook 1.2 works on CraftBukkit 1.5.2-R0.1 with bPermissions 2.10.4 and Java 1.7u15 (64-bit) on both Windows 7 and Ubuntu Server 12.04.2 LTS.
There are no console errors during startup, usage or shutdown and it works as described.
I also like how the use of it is very intuitive.
Thanks, LHammonds
I LOVE IT!
Will you ever finish it so that instead of teleporting to the location you get "pulled" there with momentum, like the MineZ grapple?
@JakeScanlan
I think I may do this for the next update. Thanks!
You could redo it so that when you grapple a wall face, a temporary glass block appears beneath the person on the wall, ready to grapple again.
