Footsteps
Footsteps makes use of an unused particle effect in the Minecraft code to produce footsteps onto blocks while you are walking. This will help to add a new level of immersion to your server.
Configurations
The defaults are set to sand, dirt, and snow but you can configure this to work with any type of block. If you wish to add blocks that get footsteps, just add its type ID to the list in the supplied config file.
Commands
/footsteps reload - Reload the configuration file.
Permissions
footsteps.reload - Allows the use of /footsteps reload.
Thanks for looking!

I saw that CraftBook now has a similar function. However, I couldn't get it to work. Is it the same? I'll of course still use this plugin :D

FootSteps 1.5.2 Bukkit Plugin
Awsome! Ilike this plugin :DDD I use it on my pvp Server :) But one thing you have to update... When i dig in dirt, the footsteps don't go away immediately.. Thats not so good but its a awsome idea!!!!!
Think you could hook Vanish / Essentials so vanished players don't get footsteps?
Like Si vienes de pagoru
Source:)
@ronfkingswanson
Footsteps won't show up for players have their particle settings at minimal. Hope it helps!
some players are seeing the footprints, and others aren't. Running vanilla 1.5.2 clients on spigot b848.
No errors in the console - any clue what would cause it to be visible to some not others?
This is awesome <3 I'm adding this to my server right now.

This looks so funny when you enable it on every block. =D Nice plugin
Great! We want it)))
Great idea! Looking forward to the release build being approved!
Make's me wonder about the possibility of using those 'town border' textures Mojang added in ages ago for factions and such. I digress, looking forward to putting this on my servers :D
How long do these particles stay there before disappearing? I can see this being an issue if it's set to stay for too long.
Perhaps implement a setting option to manually control it?
Looks great by the way
Edit: Just saw this "It's a few seconds and unfortunately there's not a (great) way that I've found to increase it." from the Reddit thread. Never mind
