FireWorkLevel
FireWorkLevel
FireWorkLevel
Make leveling up more fun with FireWorks!
What does it do?
Every player with the permission firework.level will be surprised with a randomly generated FireWork when they level up! That means: random colours, random power random effects and random shapes.
It's simple and lightweight!
There's also (completely optional) MCMMO support.
To everyone who is wondering if this makes the plugin less lightweight: it does not! It's still as lightweight as it used to be - unless you're using this function. By default, it is set to false in the config.yml. You also won't be bothered if you simply don't use McMMO. The plugin is still simple and lightweight, so don't worry!
Anything else?
Nope! This plugin is as simple as it should be: you're done with a single permission node. If you have any suggestions though, you are free to post them in the comments! Keep in mind I want to keep this as lightweight as possible.
* Please note: you will need build #2565 or higher for this plugin, otherwise it won't work! See dl.bukkit.org! *

Concept & Image
The concept for this plugin came from KylexDavis. He requested this plugin on the forums.
Wumpyc made the image for this plugin.
@Rprrr
So is the weekend coming yet? I'm pretty sure the weekend passed after four months. :P
(You said you'll probably release an update this weekend with the new configuration.)
[SEVERE] [FireWorkLevel] Plugin FireWorkLevel v1.0 has failed to register events for class com.gmail.koningluka.fireworklevel.FireWorkLevel because com/gmail/nossr50/events/experience/McMMOPlayerLevelUpEvent does not exist.
Hi! Please add function to disable firework, then gain new exp lvl, but work for mcmmo.
Any luck, still weirdly happening.
@Joymo
Very strange, I'll look into it. Thanks for posting it here.
Bug:
Since some weeks, there's now not only Fireworks on mcMMO levelups, but even on mcMMO ability activation. That's very annoying/spammy, likely due to a change in mcMMO events?
Apparently it even happens on activation AND expiration of the ability.
Oh and to complete the fun, this is with "mcmmo: false".

@CommodoreAlpha
Thanks for the suggestion. I think you guys are actually right. I could make it configurable on what levels you'll get fireworks, so, for example, you'd be able to set it up like this:
Levels: - 5 - 10 - 15
I will probably release an update this weekend. Thanks for the great suggestion!
This is a nice plugin, and the only one (from what I've seen) that launches fireworks upon each level up.
On the flip side, getting a firework EVERY time I level up, whether it's by the vanilla XP system or mcMMO is annoying. Plus, it could attract unwanted attention on a PvP server. It would be nice if you could designate what levels, or intervals, a firework would launch.
For example, since the first few levels (both vanilla and mcMMO leveling) are really fast, I would want a firework to go off for every ten levels I gain. Then when when I'm at level 50, only after every five levels. After level 100, a firework would go off every level. This is just an example; I couldn't think of a better way to explain this.
Hey
I really like this plugin but could you do so you can change when the fireworks going to show off. For example instead of every level you can choose every 10th or every 100th level. Becouse in the begning you level up fast and this cause to much annoying fireworks and laggs. Thanks :)
@Yolju
Hi,
It's in fact a pretty simple plugin. It won't be hard to update so I'll guess I'll update this for a very long time (also, I don't expect many changes in the Bukkit API that relate to the code used, so updates won't always be necesarry).
@fliuxus
Hi,
I'll add that feature. :) Thanks for the suggestion, I'll upload a new file in a few hours.
(Downloaded) How long do you think you will keep this plugin updated for?
-Yolju
can fireworks be only for mcmmo.?
I've uploaded a new version. Download it at:

@Rprrr
ah figured it was something like that.
@Androkai
Good to hear it's working. :)
@Sk8Sanctified
1.4.6r0.1 does not support the creating of firework entities (which is the only way to create firework explosions). It is correct that players could craft and place fireworks, but it's not possible to use code to spawn fireworks..
@Rprrr
Sorry, no time in the last days to test it, only some serverupdates but today I test it twice and it works :o
I can't say if it's because of Craftbukkit or another plugin but now I'm happy with it. Thx
@Rprrr
I don't understand what you mean, 1.4.6r0.1 has fireworks..... That's build #2561
I will be updating to 1.4.6r0.3 sometime today or tomorrow so I'll give it another go.
@Androkai
I have never tried MultiInv with this plugin, but the plugin should still be able to listen for level changes. Are there any errors in the console? And if there aren't any, you could try disabling MultiInv for a few minutes in order to see if that's the problem.
Is it possible that it's event is blocked by MultiInv beacause noting is going on if I level up?
Using newest version of plugin and CraftBukkit (DevBuild) with correct permission (also with '*'/op)
