FatGiants
FatGiants will spawn Giants in your world with a configurable percentage and an editable item drop.
This is based on the looong forgotten NaturalGiants plugin created by MineRealm. All credit goes to him, but I have changed it enough (I feel) to warrant a new name and title.
Config
The Config will auto generate on first run, and looks like so
SpawnRate: 5 Health: 100 Drops: '341:8' FireAttack: false Worlds: world
OR
SpawnRate: 5 Health: 100 Drops: '35:1:100000' FireAttack: false Worlds: world,world2,world456
The SpawnRate is a percentage based on how many Giants you would like to spawn.
- Giants only spawn at night
- Typically only spawn on flat ground
- 5% is a good PERCENTAGE to start out at.
The Health is configurable, with 100 being the default, this has not been completely tested, so feedback welcome
The Drops and itemamount denote what items you want them to DROP and How many. So the default here is 8 slimeballs.
And lastly the FireAttack. Do you want the Giant to light on fire when a player is near, dealing firedamage to the Player BUT NOT the giant.
Misc
- There are no Permissions.
- Currently there are no plans to add extra features.
- They will spawn in ALL worlds and if any feature is added, it will be to choose the worlds where they are allowed to spawn.
Please report any bugs regarding worlds.
Caveat
If you use this plugin in conjunction with SurvivalArena, ModArena or any other plugin that will spawn giants and you have FireAttack set to TRUE, the Giants will light on fire... CONFIRMED
I think the drops are doubling, not sure why. If you notice this, please comment and I will start to bug test it.
The Config has some minor changes to be aware of.
It is on my todo list.
Can you add option to spawn giant in allowed worlds only?
i have 7 worlds and you know what hapend every were giants giants :D .....
@Joymo I have run this on my server for about 3 weeks...and months prior to that when it was MineRealms.
The spawning mechanism is based on two thing, the Amount of mobs in the area and the Amount of Air.
Caves generally wont allow for Giants to spawn there, and honestly, I have never seen them spawn there.
If you do see them in caves (or if I do during futher testing) I will look into the Y-valuse idea.
And on a side note, you can set the fire attack to false....but I think I might add fireballs, once I can work around the health bug.
Request: A config variable that specifies the minimum Y level for Giants to spawn.
Mostly want to prevent them spawning in Caves, feels too problematic there with the fire attack and the size.

V0.02 added Durabaility...I will either add in World Support/ Potion Effects or Multiple Drops next release.

with MobHealth plugin the giant healt is 100 for Health: 200 set in config ?!
I noticed that as well.I will work out the issue with that once I get Durability added.
Can't seem to increase the giants HP. Always takes 14/ 15 diamond sword hits to kill one regardless of what i set the HP too. Any ideas why ?

You can change Drops to 352 for bones And itemamount to 1 That will give you 1 bone.
I will put adding multiple drops on the top of my list.. I have one plugin I need to update and then I can spit that out.

Awesome! If I wanted to add multiple drops would it be possible? Also I agree with adding the world choice feature. I just made a new jungle world on my server for 1.2.3 and It would be a totally awesome world if it where the only one with elite giants!!!
Been awaiting for the return of such a plugin.
Personally, the only worlds I don't want these big guys running around in is Nether and The_End, as they would kinda stick out. :D
Otherwise, possible to set a group of different items to be dropped?
ex: bones, rotten flesh
It is an alternative, with the same features you are used to. The events have been updated and the config has been reworked.
