Ender Eye Changer
Ender Eye Changer
Tired of people finding strongholds you never knew about? Have you ever wanted to control what those mysterious ender eyes do?
This is the plugin for you!
Ender Eye Changer allows you to change the locations that ender eyes point to simply by typing a command.
Multiple waypoints can be created, and when a player throws an ender eye it will point towards the nearest one.
The behaviour of ender eyes can also be changed between pointing to the nearest waypoint and to natural stronghold locations on the fly.
Commands
If no waypoints are defined, ender eyes default to Vanilla behaviour.
There is one command, /endereye [waypoint|stronghold|add|remove] [name].
You can use /endereye stronghold to make ender eyes point to strongholds, and /endereye waypoint to make them point towards the nearest defined waypoint.
Use /endereye add <name> to add a waypoint at your current location, and /endereye remove <name> to remove a waypoint.
Ender eyes will point to the closest waypoint.
Configuration
There are 2 configuration options you will use:
- use-stronghold-locations: If ender eyes will point towards the nearest strongholds. (default true)
- allow-nether-end: If ender eyes can be thrown in the end and nether worlds. (default false)
The other section of the config is used by the plugin to store locations. You can edit this manually but it is not recommended.
Permissions
There is one permission, and it defaults to OP: endereyechanger.*
Have fun :)
EnderEyeChanger has been updated to Minecraft 1.9!
Feel free to post a ticket if you have anything you want to be added in a future version, or if you find any bugs in existing versions.
I would suggest you use Github for your source, it's both convenient for people who want to see your source and for developers. It's worth a look, all my projects use it :)
In response to requests for updates to the latest CB development/beta releases, I have uploaded 2 more files that I have tested (somewhat) for the 1.7.9_R2 Beta release and the 1.7.10 Development version respectively.
Due to the file approval process, these may not be available for download for some time, and unfortunately due to BukkitDev moderation I am unable to post download links.
Have fun!
@ryan_the_leach
Oh yes, about the source code.
The source is now included inside the jar file for EnderEyeChanger version 1.5 and above. If you don't know how to open jar files... I would suggest downloading more RAM and installing the Ask toolbar.
I would like to provide a download link but due to Bukkit moderation I am unable to do so. The file should be approved shortly.
Any chance of an update?
Additionally your license is GPL but I can not find your source code anywhere.
@Bobcat00
Yep. That should work, no problems.
Thanks! Just to make sure I understand how to use this, if I go to each of the three End Portals and issue the commands (one command at each):
I'll have three locations defined, and the eye will point towards the closest one? (The reason I need this plugin is because my map is a combination of Bukkit and vanilla, so the eyes go to the wrong places.)
@Bobcat00
Sure. I've added a new file now.
"it will only work on the specified minecraft version!"
Can we get an update for 1.6.4 ? Thanks!
@Javacow Anyway we can get an update?
Javacow, You're amazing! thank you VERY much for such speed on fixing this! i've already tested it and it's working on 1.5.1 now!
btw: you can close the ticket now! :)
New file uploaded that should work with 1.5.1, awaiting approval. You can download it here.
Dear Sir,
Could you please update this plugin to 1.5.1? my server is only missing this extremely IMPORTANT plugin...(i need this due to the way my maps are set (skyblock map with really distant portals, which are impossible to find without an ender eye) :|
@Elendilion
The waypoints should remain in the configuration, but may not show up on the /endereye command. I will add a command that lets you switch between strongholds and waypoints in the next release.
Otherwise, just set the 'use-stronghold-location' setting in config.yml to 'false' and your waypoints will be enabled again when you reload the config.
I have an idea:
What if you could enable/disable waypoints without having to add them every time you reset them? Something like "/endereye disable" to disable Ender Eyes going to designated waypoints without deleting them and "/endereye enable" to enable previously disabled waypoints.
I came across this idea when i was trying to find the stronghold on my server and i had to use /endereye reset for the Ender Eye to work. I did found it, but i noticed that my waypoints were all gone :(
@PaulBGD
Wow, that was quick! I'll get started on that straight away :)
So simple...and cool! Downloading right now, looks good :D Maybe some other things, like setting multiple points, with names, and you can make the Ender Eye go to the closest one? Otherwise, sweet!
