DynamicBan
Announcement: Version 1.3.1 is not compatible with current spigot versions!
Announcement: Version 1.3.1 is not compatible with current spigot versions!
A workaround is being worked on.
- Posted on (10.10.2014) by DJ Addi
- Kick, ban, IP-ban or range-ban players
- Temporarily ban or IP-ban players
- Automatically punish players that are blacklisted by DNSBL services
- Warn players and execute commands after a certain amount of warnings
- Get notified when two players with the same IP adress join or compare IPs manually per command
- Lock IPs to a single name
- Recieve a list of all players and their IPs from the console
- Make players immune to all commands or whitelist them to protect them from bans
- Check a player's status including warnings, kicks, bans, temporary bans and more
- Send players information about their own warnings whenever they login
- Purge a player's data with a simple command
- Fully costumizable messages for everything including broadcasts
- Only explicit autocomplete for safer administration
- Update notifications

Information on further development
Hey guys, DJ Addi here. With version 1.3.0 the plugin reached a point where I'd say it is more or less finished. If there are bugs or important features that require an update I will release a new version as fast as possible (without waiting for stuff to pile up). However, it is unlikely that new big features will be added (unless I really like them so keep the suggestions coming).
Stay tuned for updates on the release of DynamicBan 2.0.
Currently working on:
- Cleaning up database code, adding missing comments to other classes
- Moving ban-types to separate tables to allow future scalability (We cannot easily append missing fields, but we can add on missing tables if a new feature is added).
@Joseei
Just add {REASON} after the time.....
I have the same error as XeonG8
"Kicked whilst connecting to hub. Your UUID is being fetched. Please try again in a few seconds."
It happens when I logon to the server and then when I switch between connected servers. When swapping between servers it comes as a message in the chat and I don't teleport to the other server, second time I try to swap it's working, till I want to go back or to an other connected server the message appears again.
This is really annoying and will not be liked by players which then will not come back to the server(s).
Hey, love the plugin but I'd just like to request one thing if possible. When we temp ban people, I want the user (who receives the temp ban) to see the reason we put instead of just the time reaming otherwise the reason box for the tempban command is pointless. Cheers and keep up the good work. :)
djaddi yeh but the player kicking is a still a problem
@Bodyash
It'll be less secure, but it'll work.
@djaddi
If i disable UUID Check - can i ban via UUID, or only nickname and IP bans?
@XeonG8
That's perfectly fine. The plugin is converting the database and then sets this config value in order to avoid converting it again (which would delete most data because UUIDs are invalid player names).
@Bodyash
Sorry for not replying earlier, I was a little busy these past days. I'll do some tests with a new version tomorrow (that allows you to disable the UUID check).
https://github.com/sk89q/craftbook/commit/a966beef9f0e3c01c24330901691af3c2c6ef25b
any progress?
in my config ...
convert_to_uuid: false
is set like that, obviously it was upgraded that way because I haven't touched the config for months, but on here i see
convert_to_uuid: true
so why was the config upgrade not set to true.... if it is true, will it still kick players to check uuid? or will it store there uuid and not do that stupid kick message ever again?
my server is offline, but bungeecord is online
please get rid of this crap...
"event.disallow(PlayerLoginEvent.Result.KICK_OTHER, "Your UUID is being fetched. Please try again in a few seconds.");"
took me a while to find out which plugin was doing it, find some other way of getting uuid without kicking players.
Offline mod
Can i disable this message?
@Bodyash
Intended. This happens because you are either running an old server (below version 1.7.2) or an offline mode server. The plugin is verifying the player's uuid to check if that name is tied to a legit account.
yeap - dynamicban - is main reason for being kicked
This happens only once
http://www.spigotmc.org/threads/uuid-fetch.25886/ Does DynamicBan can be reason of that?
Log in: Kicked with that reason - second login - all ok.
@Bodyash
See "tempban_limits" in the configuration section above. Every entry defines a permission node (slashes will get replaced by dots) and a maximum time in seconds.
@Bodyash
This happens during data conversion. The plugin is actively blocking the main thread while converting the data, which is intended.
@Bodyash
That is intended. Conversion is done only once (that's why convert_to_uuid is set to false). The data is stored in the same way as before (but with uuids instead of names). The unban command still works fine, if you want to remove a ban manually then you can use /dynplayer to check the player's uuid.
@Bodyash
Hmm... does this happen frequently? Can you reproduce it reliably?
