ColorKeys
ColorKeys
Version: v1.5.3(release) [1.7.9-R.2]
This plugin adds locked doors to your server that can be unlocked by obtaining their matching colored key ("key" meaning a chat message explaining you have a key, until Spout allows custom items :p). You can either obtain a key through a player with the appropriate permission, or an NPC with permissions enabled (when questing). This will soon add a certain, special layer of classic role-playing and questing that has yet to be seen in a Bukkit plugin.
How to use Color Keys (wiki)
Note: The YouTube video has been removed due to out-of-date methods (changed with version 1.3.0). A new video will be released shortly.
Features:
- Create doors that can be locked with colored keys, based on a cloth block under the door.
- Able to have multiple doors of the same color (Red door at "Spawn", and Red door at "Dungeon", and so on)
- Up to 16 doors for one location (White door at "Spawn", Blue door at "Spawn", and so on)
- Keys can be given from an OP, NPC's, or any other plugin that allow commands with proper permissions (questing in mind).
- SuperPerms will be used now that Permissions 2.7/3 is inactive
- Vault support for C.O.D. transactions
- Sign Shops for keys!

Is this gonna get updated ?????
Hi there!
Is there any chance of this plugin being updated in the near future?
Thank you!
-Ricky
Yea, I know it's broken and I've been intending to update but I procrastinate too much.
Anyways, here's the source: https://github.com/Synthlight/ColorKeys

Update???
Does this plugin still work and can you guys update it
doesnt work just wont select a door verry frusturating
@BillSends
Entitled much? I'm not going to make a version just for you, I'm going to release it to the community.
Having said that, is there some reason "ColorKeys v1.5.2.1" won't work? Cause it seems to work just fine for me.
The reason I haven't released a version specific to 1.3.2 is cause the one from 1.3.1 is still compatible.
plis this plugin for 1.3.2-R0.1 send to me [email protected]
@FeedDante
Yes i saw that now posted in wrong section sorry about that.
This is the error color keys gave me.
"XML document structures must start and end within the same entity."
@LeChuuck
If you really read that callstack you'd see that that error was not caused by this plugin, but rater, it was caused by CityGates. Here's the giveaway:
Hey
Don't know if you are updating this plugin but got a error.

Love the look of this plugin! But are there installation instructions? I tried dropping in the .jar and restarting the server, but it didn't make a folder. Is there an instructions page somewhere?
euhm i get a error saying unsuported major minor with your latest update but i have bukkit CB 1.2.5 R4.0 :/ if someone have a answer it would be nice ! thanks :)
Edit I made a ticket for the problem :) hope it don't bother you too much :)
@joasterkid
Not sure what you mean. The only way to give a key is either with a command or through a sign. If you have a NPC/quest plugin that supports running player defined commands, then yes, otherwise no.
How does the NPC/questing interaction work? Is there a specific questing plugin you have to use? Thanks
@FeedDante
Ahh the second I looked at the example it reminded me that i forgot to change my batch file to use java 1.7. It works now, thank you for your help, and sorry for such a stupid issue.
@Dorkstinn425
Yes, 1.7.0_04-b20 should work just fine but "unsupported major.minor version 51.0" is irrefutable evidence that the sever is running with 1.6. My best guess is that the java.exe in system32 differs (is 1.6) from the java.exe in program files (1.7). It is also possible you have both installed.
The simplest solution is to add the path to the right version of java to the command that starts the server. (Example)
The long term solution is to remove all traces of java and then re-install 1.7.
@FeedDante
Sorry for not including what error it was. I am new to bukkit plugins and even then i just forgot about it. Yes it was the unsupported major.minor version 51.0. Also the current version of Java that I have is build 1.7.0_04-b20. I'm assuming this is what you mean when you say that i need java 1.7. The only reason i mentioned the CB version was that there was a mismatch and i was unsure which was right.
@Dorkstinn425
If there is an error why did you not include it in your post? (I mean, seriously?) You ask for help but you don't give me the info I need to help you.
1: I'm guessing that the error is: unsupported major.minor version 51.0. If true, you're using java1.6, java 1.7 is required. (If this is the error, Google it; Google will help you a lot more that I might.)
2: There are astronomical odds that the error is with creating the folder. Doing this yourself will NOT make a difference.
3: Ignore the CB version info, I guarantee you that 1.5.2 works with the latest RB.
I attempted to install colorkeys onto my minecraft buildcraft 1.2.5 R1.3 and it wont install there is an error and it will not create a folder. When i try creating the folder itself it still gave me the errors. I noticed at the top it says "Version: v1.5.2(release) [1.2.5-R1.3]" though in the downloads area it says that version 1.5.2 is for Minecraft 1.2.5 R1.2.

Yes, and for some reason It's not on the wiki yet. In the mean time, to remove a key from a player use:
