Colored Broadcast
Colored Broadcast
Description
Colored Broadcast is a simple and efficient way for your moderating/administrating team to broadcast messages to your players with colored messages. You don't have to stick with the default [Server] and [Broadcast] Messages anymore!
As of version 3, you can have an automated broadcast go out however often you feel like having it broadcast. If you leave the broadcast field blank in the config.yml, it won't do anything.
Installation
Colored Broadcast is really simple to install, just drag and drop the .jar into your plugins folder, and reload or restart your server, and done!
Usage
To use Colored Broadcast, you will go in game (or console, if you prefer) and type the following command: /cbroadcast <colorcode> <message>
An example of this is: /cbroadcast d [Server] Hello Players, this is a message!
This would broadcast a message in the default /say color.
You can use any colors that you can use in-game, for a full list visit here: http://ess.khhq.net/mc/
Aliases: /cb
Permissions
To allow a user to use the /cbroadcast command, they must be either op, or have the coloredbroadcast.broadcast permission node, you can apply permission nodes to users in your permissions plugin.
Known Bugs
Currently there isn't any known bugs in this plugin, if you come across one, please tell me what you did and the error that it gave you.
@Talamar1
There's no reason why this shouldn't work with 1.7.8, I'll try it out.
With a lot of people going to 1.7.8, might want to check compatibility.
@marshytheman
Thanks :) I'm currently working on this and a few other additions - but thanks anyway :)
I'm curious if it's possible to add other automated broadcasts besides the first one through the config.yml great plugin btw.
I feel like I'm being greedy with changes... but...
Would it be possible to setup the config file to handle multiple broadcasts (and/or do this via ingame commands)
Example:
broadcasts:
<name>:
msg: &d This is broadcast 1
timer: 600
<name2>:
msg: &e This is message 2
timer: 3600
Then in game you could do something like:
/cbset name timer <color msg>
@Talamar1
Nice suggestion, I'll work on that. Check back in a few days :)
Can you add commands that would allow someone to edit the config.yml and then reload it?
@ebkelley
What do you mean?
how do i get them!
@DuoDex
I've added the feature, just waiting on Bukkit to approve the new file :)
@DuoDex
That sounds like a good idea, I'll work on it :)
Hey. I know this isn't exactly what you were aiming for as this seems to be op-controlled, but could you add an option or two in a config file that would enable auto-broadcasting?

Thanks :)
Pretty good. Thumbs up
