Color Portals
Color Portals lets users create portals in game with little effort and no commands to type!
Using wool, a sign, a pressure plate, and a button, players can create their own portals!
Features:
- No commands necessary to set up portals.
- Portals link automatically. No running back and forth setting locations.
- MultiVerse/MultiWorld compatible. Teleport between worlds with ease.
- No permissions required. (But are supported)
- No configuration required. (But many options are supported)
- Plug and Play.
Download now and try it out for yourself!
Optional Commands:
- /portal info or /cp info - Use while standing in or looking at a portal to get more information on the portal and where it warps to.
- /portal list or /cp list - Displays how many portals are registered on the server.
Color Portals is by far the easiest to use portal plugin to date and is also the most fun. People on your server will not be able to get enough!
I have put many hours of work into this plugin and it is my hope than anyone who enjoys the features it brings to their server will donate.
@SnowGears
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll see if I can update the portal.yml file, tho so far I haven't had much luck even looking at that file. Every time I try it's a bunch of gibberish symbols; nothing very readable. Any thoughts on that?
As for a plugin that alters signs in any way, no. I don't have many plugins on the server, and the only one that has anything to do with signs is Color Portals. I'll double check, but it's a short list.
Any other thoughts or ideas would be welcome. Thanks again! -Yayes
@Yayes
I'm sorry to hear about that. As for your first console error, the only thing I can think of that would cause that would be another plugin adding special characters in the sign text when you write it. Do you have another sign coloring plugin of any sort?
And I can add the button and pressure plate requirement as an option for a future update. I also like the idea that operators would be able to delete portals remotely. Great suggestion! One thing that you can do to delete a portal (currently) is to edit the portals.yml file and delete that portal (but make sure to keep exact spacing and syntax of the yml file and update the rest of the nodes on the channel to match the change).
Hope this helps! Let me know if theres anything else you need help with.

Update: It looks like the problem I showed below has broken every portal on my server. None of them work anymore :(
Also, I very much do NOT like that the gates now REQUIRE the pressure plate and button in order to work. Many of the gates on my server are meant to be one-way gates, with no button or pressure plate on the other side to block things like arrival traps.
If you really like this new requirement feature, please add a config way to have the code NOT require it. Thanks. Yayes
Hey SnowGears!
As I said before, I love your work with these portals. Have a couple issues I thought I'd ask about tho.
First, I had some issues with an op that used a /fill command to wipe out a portal in an area he was clearing to rebuild something of his. The command wiped out the portal, but corrupted the channel, as the portal system still thinks that portal is on the network & channel, even tho it no longer exists.
It would be awesome if you could make a way for an op or admin to not only evaluate what portals are on a channel, but to be able to destroy a specific one remotely with a command. I think that would fix that.
Second issue: I came here and saw you updated! (Right on!) I wondered if it would reset, or eliminate the portal (or at least let me view it) with the new commands you have, so I updated. However, now there's a different issue. here's what the console shows (errors shown on the console are bolded below):
From the console
End console section
Sorry if this isn't the place for this kind of thing. Do you know what's causing this, or how it can be fixed?
Thanks again for everything you've done! My players and I think you're awesome!
So maybe im missing something here so far love the plugin but i have a starwars plugin im using as well and it has like 3 worlds besides the main one so i have four. i have set a portal between the main world and another world and every time i stop or restart my server the portal 1.1 becomes inactive but the portal 1.2 is still up. not sure what to do i have set a portal in the main world to test this and portal 2.1 and 2.2 both stay active. So i guess my question is is it not possible to do this between worlds?
@globy78
As of right now there is only a restriction on the amount of portals that can be built on a chain. (So if it was set to 3, only 3 portals could be build on Orange:13 for example)
I will add that in the next update. Thanks for the suggestion!
Just a question/suggestion. I saw the perm. for how many portals are allowed per color/channel. How do i restrict that? also, is there a way to block of a certain channel on portals so only, say, ops and admins can build on that channel, and if not, could you add that? thx
@Talffury
Hm I've never considered that. I will think it over and consider adding that as an optional feature for a future update. Thanks for the suggestion!
I like it, but I wish it had a way to select what portal to teleport to. There is a Stargate plugin that no longer works for me and when you right click the sign it changes the destination name on the sign from other gates on the same network. If there were 10 gates I dont want to portal to 6 different ones to get to one of them if you know what I mean.
I use in spigot 1.8.3 work fine Great!!!
@ziggrrauglurr
The latest version should work fine for 1.7.10. Please let me know if you run into any issues though.
Hi, Which version would be ok for 1.7.10?
@ChillerKraft
No problem! Let me know how you like it!
seems nice im gonna try this on my 1.8.3

Just submitted the file for update. After more than 2 years, the new version is here!
EDIT: (I just realized it is April 1st but this update is not a joke)
Here is the change log for the update while you wait for it to be reviewed by the Bukkit team.
ColorPortals v1.6:
Updated to 1.8 (new pressure plates + UUID system).
Option for Walk-on-activation. (off by default)
Option for portal protection (from explosions and other players). (on by default)
Replaced "/color" command with "/portal" command.
New "/portal info" command.
Better saving and loading of portals (is now readable by humans).
Code overhaul; much more efficient and fixed all bugs from previous versions.
@SnowGears
So I'm not sure what happened before, but I have reinstalled it, and now it works just fine on the server. Maybe it was waiting for the sun and moon and stars to line up or something, because the day I posted that I tried tons of things and it just wouldn't work. It didn't give me any errors, it just wouldn't enable.
Seems to have worked itself out now, as I have no problems with it and it's working like a charm.
Thanks for your quick reply, and I'm sorry I didn't get back sooner. Your system is elegant and wonderful! Fantastic job mate! Cheers!
@Yayes
What are the problems you are having? I would be happy to make an update compatible with 1.8 but I need to know exactly what problems you (and any others) are having.
Can you fill out a ticket which includes any error messages in the console or describing in depth what problems you are having? That would help me get an update out a lot faster. Thanks!
@SnowGears
My players and I LOVE this plugin!
Sadly, I can't get it to work on my 1.8 server as it doesn't seem compatible with 1.8.
I certainly hope you're working on an update. If there's anything I can do to help make it a reality sooner, don't hesitate to let me know, ok?
In the meantime I'm stuck using an inferior portal system as a placeholder. Look forward to wool being useful again soon!
Cheers!
@chanpratt
In the config.yml file, set usePermissions to false. Then save the file and reload your server. Hope that helps!
Hello i am using this plugin and other players are trying to use the portals and it would not let them is their something i have to do to "allow" them to use a portal?
