ChunkLoader
ChunkLoader
This plugin allows servers to keep chunks loaded while players are not around chunks. Meaning you can keep your farms growing and your redstone ticking.
Please note that this plugin is not yet fully complete. A demo video will be added soon

What does this plugin provide
This plugin Provides a way to keep a chunk loaded in memory when the player moves away from it or logoff. I plan to make this fully customizable:
TODO List
- Chunk can be unloaded if player logs off
- Player can have a limit of how many chunks he can have and if he can set it.
- The chunk belongs to a certain player and only he can change it
- A radius can be set from that chunk (fully comiziable with config file)
- Chunks can be unloaded after a certain period
- Cost for the chunk to stay loaded
- Cost to make a chunkloader
- World Edit support
MCStats.
This plugin utilizes Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics
notes: This plugin does work with ptweaks chunk unloading feature.
Is this working in 1.9 too? If not, are there any other plugins like this, i could use?
@bukkit_User90925698
Same here. I built a chicken farm, but it is not running when we are away from it. I've "/chunkloader set" the chunks all around the farm.
Hello,
You always work on this plugin ?
This would have been a nice plugin, if the creator would have continued to work on his TODOs :/
@SirGeraltMC
There are other plugins that do the same thing while using permissions ;)
@SirGeraltMC
I checked the source code, and the answer is: there are absolutely no perms.
How do I set up a personal anchor point with this plugin?
My minecarts always stops. And when I was off and came back..all the npc's and minecarts won't move.
what are the permission nodes for this plugin? i dont want everyone using it, just mods and above
I'm trying this plugin on Spigot 1.8.8.
Perhaps my testing methods are faulty, but it doesn't seem to work.
I've traveled well away from spawn chunks and built two simple machines that move an item through a hopper every time a minecart travels around a track. One of these I placed in a chunk that was "set" using this plugin- the other was in an adjacent chunk that was not "set".
After traveling away from the two chunks and giving them ample time to finish loading all the items in the hopper, I returned only to find both chunks must have unloaded at the same time- as they had the same number items that had moved. The chunks were likely unloaded as soon as I left the area.
Is there a better way to test this?
Are there other options to consider?
Does the chunks stay loaded if there are no players online?
This plugin has helped me so much! Thank you!
Hello,
I used this plugin to load spawn chunks as to keep a command block clock running. However, whenever I log off, or I unload the chunk, the clock stops working, let alone restarting the server. The problem is that spigot doesn't load any chunks, even spawn chunks, when they are loaded in vanilla, so this might have something to do with it.
hallo great plugin
but can you add the option to keep the chunks loaded if here is no player in that world. and to keep the chunk loaded if there is no player in the server,
and an option to turn those option on or off?
Wouter
I'm having some trouble with this plugin... it seems every time i restart my server, the chunks that are selected by this plugin become glitched.

heres a video of what im experiencing^... you dont need to watch the whole thing to see what i mean.
Are there any fixes for this or should i find another plugin ?
Same problem as ceagle2 on newest Spigot-build (git-Spigot-4Faf77a-17a3db7). Occurs on teleport and login into a chunkloader-marked chunk.
How do I know, that I'm standing in an other chunk???
Works fine!
Just a question: this isn't totally clear to me, but does this only keep chunks loaded for the person that sets them? or does it keep them loaded for all players if set by an OP?
CL 1.8.0 and CL 1.742 work pretty much the same for me, so they do successfully keep chunks loaded as long as there is at least one player in the according dimension - but I also got an identical issue in both versions: when /minecraft:tp'ing someone into a chunk that is being kept loaded by ChunkLoader, no chunk-data is ever being sent to that player. So he stays in the air for all eternity and won't see any block appear, unless he manages to somehow walk into a neighboring chunk or teleports away.
If a player already is in an area that consists partially of CL-loaded chunks (and he doesn't have any issues with chunks not appearing), he can be teleported around in those chunks without any issue.
My tests so far seem to indicate that it only seems to be the data transfer to the clients that's not triggering initially at the moment neighboring chunks get loaded from disc (if I had to guess, I'd guess CL cancels something netty- or chunkprovider-related when chunks are being loaded regularly) - the chunk itself stays active server-side, which I could at least prove with a few clocks which spammed me with some test-whispers.
Just in case I'm the only one who actually encounters this issue: it MIGHT also have to do with a non-uptodate version of Spigot I'm using, because CB-selectors are ignoring worlds in latest versions, even though this non-sense seems to be intended by Mojang, and this prevents me from updating to the latest version. The version I'm using was built on 6th of December. So if I'm the only one with this issue, don't bother - I can just reroute teleports to chunks not loaded by ChunkLoader and it's fine then, even if it's just one block away from chunks loaded by ChunkLoader.
update coming? :)
Yep, Mobs would be great!
