CHDistantFarm
CHDistantFarm is a lightwight and highly optimized plugin that keeps your plants growing when you're away and the chunk is unloaded.
Features:
- Keeps ur plants growing, while the chunk is unloaded
- Supports all important plants
- Nether Warts
- Crops
- Melons
- Pumpkins
- Cactus
- Sugar Cane
- Saplings
- Uses the original minecraft algorithms
- Low level caching for maximum performance
- Auto unregistering of plants if they are fully grown or destroyed
Installation:
- Put the plugin in your plugins directory
- The plugin uses the database from your bukkit.yml (default is sqlite)
- Replant the blocks that you want to grow when the chunk is unloaded
- Edit the configuration file
Upcomming:
- PermissionsEx support
- Disable the features for a specific player
- Disable growing for a plant on a specific world
Known bugs:
- Growing does not work for the spawn area
- Thats a minor issue, because the spawn chunk is always loaded, and the game will grow your plants without the plugin

@MinecraftZacherl
no i did not place them in my spawn area.... and there were several players online when we tested it. i think it's because of MCMMO that the crops don't grow when your away... but that still leaves the trees... they should grow when everyone is offline aswell right?
@generalm13
I is defenitely working for 1.2.5-R1.0. Did you place the crops in your spawn area? The plugin does not work in that region. And are there other player on your server?
It seems the plugin is not working for me, i am using Bukkit 1.2.5-R1.0
i know it's not updated for this version yet but i decided to try it anyways.
i configured the plugin to update every/all crops etc.
then proceeded to replant every crop i had. logged off for 3 hours, came back and they did not grow at all...
It doesn't work with Wheat when using it in Bukkit R1.2.5-R1.2.
They didn't get updated.

Ah okay, seems to be fine. I dont think you will notice any delay (even with 100+ players).
Well, this is what I can see with NoLagg Examine:
Selected plugin: CHDistantFarm - Event count: 2 - Task count: 3 - Average duration: 0.011 ms/tick - Total duration: 5.505 ms/500 ticks -
Task #32 0.0ms - Task #20 0.054 ms - ChunkUnloadEvent[HIGHEST] 1.45ms - ChunkLoadEvent[NORMAL] 1.6 ms - Task #19 2.4 ms -
I hope this helps!
@weja93
I dont know this NoLagg examination function, but is there any way to see, what event causes the delay? I dont have a big server, but ir would be great, if you can test it with 50+ players.
@drakcore
Could you please be more specific?
This is great plugin. Essential, I would say.
Anyways, it seems to do something when it shouldn't.. Well, it does not lag at all, but it takes 4th most time to operate, when I use NoLagg Examine. When NoCheat+ takes 13,9ms(most), CHDistantFarm takes 5,51ms. And we had only 5 players on when I did /nolagg examine.
I wonder if this starts lagging when we have lots of people on (100+).
Just wanted to report this, it just seems to be doing something even when people aren't entering to chunks, where the saved crops are.
Thanks! I hope this helps somehow :P
For me it has not been working at all.
*Waiting for an update.
@Animasitas
Its still working for 1.2.5
when will this be updated for use with 1.2.5 the latest i can see is 1.2.3
cheers
@RossGosling
That would be very resource demanding, because grass is not a real (by hand) plant(able) block. For grass support i would have to check every single block in a chunk in the chunk load event.
@LHammonds
Yes, you are correct. Whenever a plugin uses the bukkit database api, this error message appears. The bukkit devs should remove it or at least change it to [INFO].
Just upgraded to CraftBukkit 1.2.5-R1.0 and verified that having this mod installed does cause the "[SEVERE] ebean.properties not found" message to appear in the server.log file. However, it does not actually cause any "severe" problems. So to keep this from showing up in my log all the time, I created an empty file called "ebean.properties" in the root of the CraftBukkit folder (where server.properties lives). Now that the file exists (although empty), the error no longer occurs.

Could you add support for grass spreading?
@xGh0sTkiLLeRx
Thank you :) Yes im going to make a plugin for furnaces, too.
Great plugin! :)
Just one thing: whats about furnaces?
I hate it to stand next to it, to wait 'til it's finished, too.
Maybe you can add it as an extra ;)
@bobtehnerd
I cant see any bug. Just ignore the "[SEVERE] ebean.properties not found" message. This is message always appears, if you use the bukkit database api in your plugins.
When I'm using this plugin I get this error http:pastebin.com/F1PEyET7 Any reason why this plugin is causing it ?
