Make your mobs bleed a little
BleedingMobs creates a blood effect, when you hit animals, monsters and other players. It generates blood particles using wool and redstone drops, that disappear after a short time and stain the floor with colored wool blocks. All particles can't be picked up and the wool blocks on the floor can't be broken. This plugin is highly customizable in the config.yml. If you need more options, just add a comment or create a ticket.
You should watch the videos to see the effects in action.
The idea for this project came after watching Yogscast: "Shadow of Israphel" Part 25 and 29.
Permissions You need the permission bleedingmobs.admin (default: op) to use the /bleedingmobs command. You need the permission bleedingmobs.bloodstrike (default: true), if you enable permission-only in config. If you enable the permission bleedingmobs.noblood (default: false), you will not bleed when hurt.
Statistics Since Version 3.4 this plugin sends statistics about the usage to the server http://mcstats.org/. You can disable it using the command /bleedingmobs disable-metrics

My version does still work for 1337, but I have no promises that it will be bug free.
Schneeleo (or snowleo as he is known on the bukkit forums) was the original developer of this code. With he permission I published it and planned on making changes to it but never got around to it as I started developing my other plugin. He doesn't have a project because he never intended on releasing it, but he does still update it on github quite frequently.
@schneeleo Do you want to take this over? I feel like I've been neglecting it and not giving it the attention that it deserves, which isn't fair to the people that use this

Amazing plugin mate! :) But may I suggest adding a "skeleton" in the config file, because it's weird seeing bleeding skeletons. I'd like them to drop only bones. :) And maybe make endermen bleed black wool to make em more scary?
Just a suggestion, it's already an epic plugin, but that would make it absolutely perfect!

First of all I'm glad to see people are able to find my plugins here on bukkitDev :) Second off, I knew the update to 1.8 would cause something to break :( Uhmm... The download on here is still only for 1060.
I was waiting for the recommended build for 1.8 but because mojang keeps making little updates to 1.8, who knows how long it'll take for the 1.8 build to come... that being said, I do have a version built with build 1183 which I've been told works, I'll upload it here for you to try, see if that fixes anything for you :)Scratch that I'm dumb, just saw the new RB for 1.8, Updating now :DSweet plugin! This is essential to my server as its very very unique.

Sadly the NoLagg plugin breaks the temp item drop and makes the drops permanant leaving players able to pick them up (redstone, wool, bones). I've sent a message to bergerkiller asking if he could look into this as I would love to keep both plugins. If you have any spare time and could do the same that would be very appreciated.

That's actually a really good point. I never thought about that. I'm not sure if it can be done or not, but I'll definitely look into this for you :)
This mod is great! Everybody on my server is enjoying it. I was wondering, though, if it's possible to turn off the blood when the player isn't taking damage?
Here's an example. My world has PVP enabled, but the spawn area does not. If you hit somebody in spawn they take no damage and you get a message saying PVP isn't enabled there. They still gush blood if you hit them though. The other example I thought of was an Admin with god mode turned on still bleeding when struck even though they can['t be hurt. Can this be changed?

Moving the discussion to here - I haven't owned a previous version of BleedingMobs, so no =P. The scenarios have been like this: I die in one world, and thus lots of blood drops are spawned. That world's respawn point is set to be a different world, so the chunk is instantly unloaded (because there are no other players nearby) as soon as I choose to respawn, which is usually ASAP, and I am sent to a different world. When I get back to where I died in the first-mentioned world, all stained blocks remain red wool, and all blood drops are obtainable. Might that help pinpoint an unforeseen issue?
Because I forgot to mention it before, this mod is awesome =D. Makes fighting more invigorating, funny, and confusing for whatever reasons haha.
