AutoHop
Bored of repeatedly tapping Space to jump up a hill? Then AutoHop is for you!
An ultra-simple plugin with no configuration and only one command, AutoHop detects when players are walking into blocks, and if there's room to jump onto that block, will automatically make them jump. If you've ever played Minecraft Pocket Edition on Android/IOS (or used the Boots of the Traveller from Thaumcraft), you'll know what to expect.
Installation
- Copy AutoHop.jar into your
bukkit/plugins
directory - Restart/reload your server
- That is all.
Usage
Just move around. Whenever you would normally have to press Space to jump onto a block, just keep walking towards it and AutoHop will do it for you!
Permission
There's one permission node, which is true by default: autohop.hop - players must have this node to automatically jump.
Commands
There is one command: /ahop. This toggles the enablement of autohop, per-player. By default hopping is enabled for all players (who have the above permission node); any player can type /ahop to disable autohopping, and type it again to re-enable.

not working so well in spigot 1.8.x
hops, but does not reposition onto block.

Try this dev build from my Jenkins site: http://jenkins.genesis-mc.com/job/Autohop/lastBuild/me.desht$autohop/artifact/me.desht/autohop/1.5-SNAPSHOT/autohop-1.5-SNAPSHOT.jar
It should resolve your problems (and adds a couple of other features too - see this commit: https://github.com/desht/autohop/commit/61b9f88010696ca4c399e86f5a8f6cc468958bd3
@n33dy1
Yeah... you're right :(
I've been meaning to get round to tweaking this for smoother faster movement... thanks for reminding me :)
This plugin works, but it's slow. Using space would be faster. I was hoping for more of a Cube World style effect.
Yes that would be good as opposed to asking an online op/admin/mod to disable it.
@oliver276
There isn't a command for players to enable/disable it themselves (although I could add one) but admins can control who has autohop with the autohop.hop permission node.
This works perfectly now; thanks!
But, would there be any way, per player, to disable it in-game?
@oliver276
Right, I uploaded it 8 (now 10) hours ago. It's just been approved by the DBO staff. Download & enjoy :)
It was just loaded. Yet it says 8 hours ago....?
@oliver276
Whenever the DBO staff approve it :)
Any ideas on when it will be out for download?
@oliver276
Confirmed, and due to a breaking API change which caused the plugin to get confused about which block face players were approaching. Fixed in v1.5 which I've just uploaded - should be available soon.
@oliver276
Yeah, I noticed the other day it misbehaves a bit since Minecraft 1.4. Will be looking into it.
This plugin can be fairly inconsistent; sometimes jumping, sometimes not.
@ohjays
I'll need to update for 1.4 for some new materials - should be out in a day or to. No idea about fences since AutoHop 1.3 doesn't try to jump fences at all.
Its also trying to hop when im going through my potato field , strafe and forward along a fence line still allows hopping over said fence .
@LucasEasedUp
Fixed in the v1.3 release.
@LucasEasedUp
Thanks for the report - I'll look into it.
Nice plugin. But found a bug: a player can jump over a corner fence.
