TrailofBlood
Description
TrailofBlood is a simple plugin to have more fun in pvp battles. This plugin will create a trail of blood if a player is hit. The length of this effect and the intensity is based on the damage the player receives.
How to install
Drop the TrailofBlood.jar into your /plugins folder.
Restart your server
Now every player in every world has a trail of blood if he receives damage.
If you want to modify the default trail in general or if you want to add a new trail only for higher ranks or something else you should open the config. For more information about the setting and trails in the config file klick the "Config.yml" button below.

Bugs
There are no known bugs anymore. If you find one please report it.
To be able to see the particles the client has to set "View Bobbing" to "ON".
Planned Features
- Adding a function to control which damage can create a trailofblood
- Adding trails for all mobs

Plugin Metrics
This plugin utilises Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true.

Once again, the plugin should work just fine at more or less any newer version of bukkit/spigot unless they are doing great changes in the api itself. so you don't need to worry about updating the plugin when a newer version of minecraft is released.
Just use the latest version, it should work just fine.

Well, sorry for my late response. In theory, it should work just fine, if there is no effect in that specific world, check if you are seeing effects created by the plugin in other worlds. if it doesn't work at all, check your log and maybe consider to enable the debug option in the config, for there are some errors that might not be shown in the regular mode.

does the plugin work with any custom world? (in 1.9.4)
I have a custom world named Westeran, i put on the config : Westeran: true but it doesn't work.
i remember than on the last versions of the plugin it was yet working

verion 0.8.9 has a boolean-value(true/false) for every world. If you want to disable it for a specific world just set it to false.

I don't see a reason why the plugin should be outdated on 1.9.2. I builded the plugin with a spigot 1.9.4 jar and it was working just fine on m 1.9 server, so you should be able to use 0.8.8 for any version of 1.8 and above. If you are receiving any kind of error you can report it to me.

If you have any error from the plugin in the log you should send it me. If there is no error please activate the debug mode and look again.

It is working with spigot 1.8.3. I tested it myself for days. I'm absolutly sure it works with spigot 1.8.3. If i doesn't run on your spigot 1.8.3 server, you are definitly doing something wrong. But with the limited information given by you it's very hard to tell what is wrong.
there are currently(15.07.2015) 3 servers running TrailofBlood on 1.8.3, and 13 out of 20 servers are using spigot. Also my own server is currently running TrailofBlood on spigot 1.8.3 without any version-related error.

using a default config file, there should only be the lava drips.but i wonder, why they are spawning sometimes in the air.
also "heavy blood" is still disabled, so...
it's possible to spawn hearts while healing, and maybe the "bones"-feature is still working too
