Planetoids
Planetoids - Generates a world full of planets:
Version: v1.4.2 Release
Planetoids, by default, creates a new world (called "Planetoids", if you fail to make a settings file) that uses my custom generator class to create a world full of "planets", which are spherical objects of varying size that have a "shell" of one block type, and a "core" of another. Planetoids can also be configured to work with multi-world management plugins, serving as a chunk generator for worlds that you create.
I got the idea from the Planetoids Map Generator, but I have no affiliation with the author of that tool.
Features:
- Configurable core and shell blocks, with percentage chance
- Optional floor, with configurable block type and height
- Optional single-block bedrock floor below that (to hold liquid floors)
- Can lock it to nighttime only
- Can disable weather, monsters, animals
- Reads world height from server.properties. Only seems to work up to 256.

Installation and Troubleshooting
A default config is created if you don't use the one from the zip, inside plugins/Planetoids. If you want to customize it before the spawn area generates (highly recommended), make sure you edit the one from the zip and put it in the right place. If you're going to use Planetoids with a multi world management plugin, I suggest you set 'autocreateworld' to FALSE, or Planetoids will make a world for itself automatically.

11:26:35 PM [INFO] Could not set generator for world 'Planetoids': Plugin 'org.canis85.planetoidgen.PGChunkGenerator' does not exist
@chrisvl2010
It does work in the End. I myself am trying to set it up with Multiverse to work in a normal world with night only, but I tried the End earlier and it works very well there.
Will the generator work in the end? it seems more space-like
I'm currently having a problem where every Planetoids world I generate is exactly the same, even after deleting the systems folder and even creating a whole new server. Some help would be greatly appreciated. :)
Thanks!
It would be nicer if the spheres were a lot larger and closer together.
This may be very complicated to code, but if the cores could be a blend of materials that could be nice.
Specifically, I would like some planets to be similar to deep mining in vanilla minecraft, with veins of diamonds in mostly stone.
As it is, a single diamond planet is often too much. My players will typically find a diamond planet and then get bored with the game mode. Swimming in rare resource is fun for a short while, but pursuit of more is generally the driving force in exploration for survival.
If diamonds were simply veins in stone-core planets, that should be perfect. Ideally it would be it's own core type and can be placed with its own rarity alongside the current configuration.
-Also, and this is probably easier, having a nether generation mode would be kinda neat. Some of my players got their nether portal up and I hadn't thought about getting one created. Thought it could be possible and kinda cool.
The plugin is partly incompatible with TreeAssist (And any simular plugin) cuz the tree/leaves one gets cut all over!!
@Canis85
YEAHHH! Thanks alot bro! <33
If you could do something more like this

I believe this plugin would be 100x more popular.
Updated (finally) for CraftBukkit 1.4.6-R0.3. I did a general test, but as usual let me know if there are any bugs.
Please i beg you to update.
Update!
Please update!!!
is this an actual plugin or is it mod?
I made a map that has much larger than default spheres, spaced pretty far apart. It looks very cool (like real planets!) and we even put rings around a few of them, but having only 1 material for each in the core is a little undesirable. I wish we could customize the layers a bit more, so we could have a crust that's composed of 1 or more materials (in percentages we specify), and the same for mantle and core. So we could define a bunch of planet types ("ice planet", "desert planet") and when a new planet is generated it picks a type from the list.
can this work with multiverse
I'm trying to generate planets with a core of Emerald, but neither EMERALD_ORE-1.0 or 129-1.0 are working for this. How can I get emerald ore?
@Canis85
Ok I Did What You Said With The IDs but I Looked Everywhere in Creative and Couldn't Find Any of The Special Ores Planets :(
Although maybe a bug with 1.3 and planetoids but if we build we often get a dark side and we cant build on that side and place a block next to it causes major lag Any idea how to reduce or so?
