MultiServerChat
MultiServerChat
by EnvisionRed
- Overview: This plugin allows chat messages to be broadcasted from server to server. It's fairly easy to use and configure, but is still in alpha stages of development. It functions as desired but there is the occasional bug or lack of optimization.
- Configuration: The config file in the plugin includes comments which explain each line.
- Permissions: Just MultiServerChat.admin, which allows users to use the /msc start and /msc stop commands.
- Commands: /msc start: starts sending and receiving chat messages if not already. /msc stop: stops sending and receiving chat messages if not already.
Hi,May i ask,how's it going?..Don't want to be pushy,just curious.Have a nice day.Regards tiwar
@EnvisionRed
that's a great idea,would it be hard to do a "/mmute player " command,that hooks into that list?
@tiwar
Not a bad suggesion, but as it stands it would be too messy to create a command system which makes choosing which server to send to easy. I would consider adding an "ignore list" feature so you don't have to get chat ftom annoying people on other servers.
@EnvisionRed
would it do to have a line in your config,were you add who's allowed to send commands? just an idea,im no programmer
@tiwar
Thanks for all the input, Tiwar. At the moment it is only possible to send chat messages between servers, not commands. I think the private messaging betwen servers is a great idea, and I'd love to implement it. Not so sure about commands though, because Making sure players had permissions across servers could be difficult.
Hi,got another idea.. make so only private messages are allowed from a linked server and a question.. does this allow you to send eg. /ban commands to the other server? cheers Tiwar
@jessefjxm
Can you clarify? I tested this alongside EssentialsChat and Pex's ChatManager and no formatting was lost between servers, and it will most likely work along with other chat plugins.
Is it possible to work as a channe in Herochat? (server channel) :)
@tiwar
In 1.4.5 onwards, Bukkit has made it harder to access net.minecraft.server objects. This won't work in 1.4.6 because it's compiled in such a way that it will only work with 1.4.5. I'm working on making it work in multiple versions (1.4.5, 1.4.6). I'll try to upload a file today.
hi again. i have a little request.. could you make so the plugin announces when a player joins one of the servers? as it is now,you never know when someone is online at the other server. regards tiwar edit: i also got this,. [start] "20:10:09 CONSOLE: [ALLVARLIG] Exception in thread "pool-1-thread-4" 20:10:10 CONSOLE: [ALLVARLIG] org.apache.commons.lang.UnhandledException: Plugin MultiServerChat v1.0 generated an exception while executing task 20 20:10:10 CONSOLE: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: net/minecraft/server/World 20:10:10 CONSOLE: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: net.minecraft.server.World 20:10:22 MultiServerChat: Error sending to host "192.168.1.183" [end] is this due to 1.4.6 ?
@EnvisionRed
Works really good,thanks =)
@tiwar
Yes, if you set the ip in the config to either "localhost" or "127.0.0.1"
hi! just a question..will this work with 2 diffrent server instances on the same machine? cheers Tiwar
@PhanaticD
It comes out on the other end with whatever format it had on the server it was sent from. If you have vanilla formatting on the sending server, then it will come out with vanilla formatting on the receiving server. It can only use pex formatting if he player has already played on that server.
is there any way you can make it use pex formatting? as when they chat goes through it comes out from the other server as <name> chat
