thanks :)
@WEB11You dug up a project that has been abandoned for six months to complain about that?
If mobs had a good documentation...
Hey, can you check the mobs in the area and around it and if it matchs the mobs of the config area it won't spawn more mobs? Cause I'm suffering with it, I put 5 pigs to spawn every 5 minutes but it keeps spawing 5 pigs even when there are 5 pigs already spawned in the area, you could put a config area to check for the mobs so it won't spawn more! Thanks!

... =)
The three most recent plugins I've written - Mob Drops, Mob Spawns, and Mob Spawner - have all had a common theme, and a lot of the code was duplicated between them.
There were also a couple of good suggestions posted in the comments which were much easier (or only possible) within one plugin.
So I decided to do it and release Mobs (currently waiting approval if you can't see the page).
Consequently, the three plugins mentioned at the top of this post will be left to rot and all further development will be on Mobs.
The good news is that there is nothing that can't be done in Mobs that could be in these three plugins, and already a few new features - unique mobs that will drop special items, mobs spawning other mobs when killed, wool colours for sheep and probably more I forgot.
There were a couple of small changes to the config file from these plugins to Mobs so please read the section on the main page (I think the documentation is a bit better over there too!)

Hopefully you can see how the base and range values affect the spawn area. Try increasing the range x and z, and moving the base x and z to another location for some of the mobs to see the difference.
Awesome thank you! works great! =D
Here's one:
This will activate every 60 seconds near the block 0, 120, 0 (the Y is high to make sure it spawns above ground). Change the X and Z to wherever you want the base to be.
The problem was that pigzombie, mushrromcow, and magmacube need hypens in them - which I didn't know :) I'll change that.
Sorry to be a pain but it still doesn't seem to be working any way I could just get a config to just cut and paste with those same mobs or a few of them, setup to just basically spawn at a good clip along with all the other regular mobs. I'm just trying to give my players more variety to fight. It may also give any one else looking into this plugin more examples of the config. I hate to be a bother but you seem to have the only plugin that spawns everything on autopilot. Also if we do get this working I would be happy to donate for this!
The way you have it set up at the moment is that the spawn code is activated every 60 seconds (that's what the interval does - if you only want to spawn things once a day it's a waste to have it so often which is why the setting is available).
The time section is a way to filter the spawning so that, even though the spawn code is activated every x (60 in your case) seconds, it won't always return true. This is so you can have mobs spawning at different times without worrying about the interval.
In your case you have the time sections for every minute, every hour, and every day. In other words you don't need to have this section at all as this is already the default.
This means that, according to your config, all those mobs will spawn every 60 seconds for as long as the server has at least one player on it. This might be what you want but it could be a bit excessive :)
The reason you don't see any mobs is that you have the range values wrong. The way it works is that the base value is the reference block (think of it like the player respawn point on the map). If the range values are all 0, this means that every mob will be spawned on the reference block, which will look a bit unnatural but is possible.
So, to make it a bit more natural you can set the range values. If the base x value is 0 and the range x value is 10 this means mobs can spawn anywhere between -10 and 10. If the z values are the same as x this gives you a 20 x 20 square for mobs to spawn in.
In your case you have +- 2500 blocks in each direction so the chances of seeing the mobs spawn near a player are very very low. Experiment by pressing F3 and setting the bas values to the ones Minecraft tells you is your current position, and set the range values low (5-10) to see the mobs spawn near you.
I tried out this plugin on my server but I'm not seeing any of the mobs I listed showing up anywhere, perhaps I've done something wrong in the config file. I will add it below. Also I don't quite understand the time and interval conditions, I've tried using different numbers in both and I'm still seeing no change in the mobs spawning in my world. Sounds like an awesome plugin, I would love to see it work and I apologize if this is the wrong forum to get help with this.
Could you add worldguard hooks to spawn in specific regions?
@TerraNetworkOrg I thought of that but as far as I know mobs naturally disappear when there are no players nearby. This means the list of special mobs would get bigger and bigger over time unless it was periodically purged. I'll have a look and see how that affects the server.
hehe looking great :) nice addition to your server :P
Wow! With this plugin i can create special dangerous places =)
Do you know what would be really cool? If i now could connect this plugin with Mob Drops to let them drop specific items :-)
