CrashNotifier
Notify players when someone crashes! Set your own custom messages.
Ever wonder why someone logged off right in the middle of your conversation with them??? Well this plugin will let your players know when these disconnections were actually crashes!
The plugin automatically detects the reason for each player's disconnection and then will change the "Player has left the game." message accordingly. Here are the types of disconnections the plugin currently supports:
- "An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host" (Network Error)
- Spam
- Kick (vanilla)
Fake Crashing
Fake out other players by pretending to crash. With /crash you will be kicked, but the online players will think you crashed. /crash will default to Network Loss.
Permissions
- crashnotifier.*
- crashnotifier.join
- crashnotifier.quit
- crashnotifier.crash
- crashnotifier.fakecrash
- crashnotifier.reload
- crashnotifier.update
This plugin features the ability to notify you of updates and allow you to download them in-game with /crash update. This can be disabled in the config.
TO-DO
- Maybe add a feature where a player that crashed will be returned to spawn rather than their previous location when they login so that they don't crash again due to a corrupt chunk or something.
- Let me know your ideas!
Exactly what I've been looking for! Any idea if you could add bungee or different server support? For example "Bob has switched to Skyblock."
Thanks!
Maybe add a feature where a player that crashed will be returned to spawn rather than their previous location when they login so that they don't crash again due to a corrupt chunk or something. This would have come in handy when a chunk was corrupted and i had to rollback 9 hours to get them out.
@jacklink01
Unfortunately no luck either :/ (i've made a new ticket, in case you're interested :) )
@vastrix
Try version 2.1 :)
Hey, Just wondering..
Has this issue been fixed yet? http://goo.gl/Dy04t1 (i hope so :) )
Thanks :)
@MasterMaq
I am pretty sure he means after you crash. At least that's what I meant when I put it into the To-Do list and also is kinda the point of this plugin. lol
Also... It pretty specifically says "...a feature where a player that crashed will be returned to spawn..."
@robotnikthingy
Now be specific.Do you mean when a player enteres the server at anytime, or just after he crashes? Because if you want them to teleport them to spawn every time they join the server, there is already a plugin for that:
SpawnTP by LaxWasHere - http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/spawntp/
"Maybe add a feature where a player that crashed will be returned to spawn rather than their previous location when they login so that they don't crash again due to a corrupt chunk or something. "
Such a feature would be so useful, so so so useful
@WizardCM
Haha I know that feeling. Well you can take a look at the github to see how I did it and if you by chance find out why it stops working after running for an extended period of time, let me know. :)
Also, the following is how the plugin SHOULD work, but it is taking Bukkit forever to fix this: https://bukkit.atlassian.net/browse/BUKKIT-429
@jacklink01
Well I mostly wanted to see how it's done to see if I could add it to the chat plugin I use, so I don't have to add yet another to my 70+ existing plugins. :P
@WizardCM
Why? Would you like to help me update it? I've been having some issues with it. Especially in 1.6.2. I would love some help. It's on github. I'd be happy to add you.
Would it be possible to get the source code for this plugin?
@BioBG
Does this happen every time a player logs out? I am unable to reproduce the error. I am using latest 1.5.2 Beta. What are you using?

@Devix1 @JackProehl @burntapples
Devix has a good point, but as long as it is a configureable option, we can hope that most users won't figure this method out right away.
Also, on mac, clicking the X button on the minecraft window while in game will crash your client.
@burntapples @JackProehl
Not a good idea, I made a client mod that easily exploits that, so whenever I log out, the server thinks that I've just crashed because of 'End of Stream'.
@burntapples
I have already added this into the new version I'm coming out with soon before you mentioned this. :)
Could I make a suggestion? I think it would be awesome if this integrated with CombatLog so if a player really did "crash" they wouldnt be punished
@NinjaTuna24
A feature server?
The plugin is available if you would would like to try it, but the latest version with the features above is waiting to be approved.
Hey there, I really like this idea for a mod! If you want, my server can be a feature server!
