CommandMobs
CommandMobs is a plugin designed to take one of the most requested plugins and turn it into a lightweight, easy to use plugin. CommandMobs is a Bukkit plugin which allows you to bind commands, messages, and more to mobs, as well as set the display name, permissions, killability, and more of said mob.
Create a CommandMob
Creating a CommandMob is more simple than you'd think. Simply use the command /cm new
, and use the Customizer to edit the commands, messages, and more of your mob! (Please note that currently, CommandMobs only supports villagers, but more mobs are coming in the future versions!) For more information on CommandMobs, see the official wiki.
Please Note: This plugin is a standalone plugin, meaning that it does not require any other plugins to work, other than a permissions plugin, if you wish to use them. I do realize that there are other plugins, such as Citizens and CommandNPC. However, these plugins are not as lightweight as some server owners would like, and require other plugins.
Metrics This plugin utilizes Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to MCStats.org. - A unique identifier - The server's version of Java - Whether the server is in offline or online mode - The plugin's version - The server's version - The OS version/name and architecture - The core count for the CPU - The number of players online - The Metrics version
If you wish to disable this feature, you may do so by opting out, which you can do in the config file found under ../plugins/PluginMetrics/

@jely2002 It's alive.. It's ALIVE!!! :P https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/commandmob.32300/
I'm very sorry to everyone who wanted an update sooner, I have been incredibly busy with school lately and quite honestly fell out of Bukkit coding. However, I have now updated CommandMobs to Minecraft 1.11, and have tested with Bukkit 1.11.2. I have seen no issues, and while there is no new content, everything works as expected. If you do find any bugs, please report them on the GitHub page linked above. Again, I'm very sorry to make everyone wait as long as they have.
Please! :( Could you update to 1.8.. I really need this for my server.
Sorry for the long period of silence everyone. Due to issues within Bukkit itself (for 1.8) I cannot release the 1.8 version. If the demand grows high enough, I may, but the problems it pose are serious for now. It seems that every command and message associated with a mob are executed twice, which can be rather serious. Again, I apologize for the issue, but don't know what to do about it. The 1.7.9 release still works just fine, but as of now, 1.8 seems out of the question.
Please, please, please update this for 1.8! My server depends on this and it is not working :'(((
@ZonalYewHD
any news/updates?

If you look at the milestones on GitHub, there's an error I'm not sure how to fix.Believe me, I'm trying. My goal is to have it down tomorrow.
Where is the version for 1.8? ;-(
Version 2.0.0 is OUT! Please note, this is only for Minecraft versions 1.7.9. I don't think I'll have to do too much for 1.8, but I'll have that release up soon as well.
Update: I forgot that approval is needed for the version to release, but I promise, it's up there!
I am proud to announce that the next version of CommandMobs will be released around noon EST tomorrow!
Small update: I have just begun testing, and will first release a version for 1.7.9 before moving on to 1.8.6. Please note that 1.8.x versions may take a little more time due certain changes made in Minecraft. However, I'm doing all that I can right now, and with any luck, I can squash all the bugs and have a release out tonight!
Update 2
Everything works except for anything to do with changing the name, commands, or messages. It was working fine earlier, but I seem to have broken it. (oops) Trying my hardest now. In the meantime, I advise getting as acquainted as possible with the changes as you can, with the guide found here. Again, terribly sorry for the delays!
Out of curiosity, are there any variables anyone would like me to include in commands? Meaning, currently, the player's name is represented with %p, so are there any other things I should add? Perhaps one for UUIDs?
@jackoleary
I do not advise using old versions of CommandMobs right now. I'm trying to finish v2, so if you can wait a couple of days, I should have a usable version out, which should fix any problems with current versions.
Do you know the permission node to allow a player to be able to access the villager with a right click?
the permission arent working by me, I used the self permission in the config but if wont work
Villager seems not to show up. Using Spigot 1.8.3
im using 1.8 can you update it ?? to 1.8.3
@koen1905
/cmdmobs killable will make villagers invincible, where they can't be punched.
Can you add that we can't punch the villagers away
<<reply 2521454="">>
It should be
cmdmobs.ID
, withID
being the villager ID. However, I believe players shpuld have that permission by default./cmdmobs info
should display the permission to use the selected villager. I haven't done much with this lately., so I'm not exactly sure. v2.0 will redo the entire permission system, however, to improve efficiency and ease.
