Automatic Minecart (Boat and Horse)
Automatic Minecart
What does that plugin do :
- Automatic Minecart spawn minecart on a rail, a horse or a boat with the player on it
- Automatic Minecart remove it when the player left this minecart, horse or boat / or quit the game / or die.
- That's all : it's a lightweigt plugin without configuration...
Why do i code this plugin
It was for my server. I was looking for a way to allow visitors that don't have minecarts to visit the world faster by using Minecarts on previouly created railways. It's usefull also for players who build rollercasters.
I add (a white) Horse and Boat recently, to freely visit the world and oceans.
Why i don't use dispensers
Minecarts, and living entities cost a lot of server consumption. I don't want that players create loads of minecarts to use railways. And on an economy server you can't give minecart to player without impact on the economy. Horse is rare. Autohoses diseapers as soon as you live them.
What about crafted Minecart, boat or owned Horses
Crafted Minecart are not destroyed when players left them. So they can be used as usual. Same rule for the horse, and the boat.
How to
Minecart :
Simply click on the rail (or powerred rail)
Horse, Boat and Minecart :
Use the command
/autominecart <horse|boat|minecart> <playername> <velocity_x> <velocity_y> <velocity_z>
Use the command with a command block :
for example : throw the player in the air in a boat in the x direction. If he falls in the water, the player will deal no damage ;-)
/autominecart boat @p 2 2 0
Teleport
Teleport a player with his vehicle (minecart, horse or boat)
/autominecart tp <playername> <world> <x> <y> <z>

Test if a player is riding an autominecart
public boolean isAutominecart(Vehicle vehicle)
Tp an autominecart
public boolean tpAutominecart(Vehicle vehicle, Location location)

Is this plugin still maintained? Is the source available anywhere - is there public repository?
I wanted to submit a patch to stop right-clicking on rails placing an autominecart if you're already riding in one, otherwise it provides a potentially somewhat lag-causing way to travel very fast (point a few blocks in front and hold the right mouse button)
Idea: So I'm using this to make an automated 2 way subway with several stops in my server. Is it possible you can make it so you can define a set of slowdown blocks that'll give people the option to get out and if they dont take it the cart will speed up again?
hope you find a solution, would be awesome :)
i know its somewhat a special condition im running there, but i appriciate it verry mutch, that you guys try to get every singel one wish done :)

I've tested it but, the changing world event is not thrown when the minecraft go throught the portal. So I can't catch it to tp the player and the autominecart. Althought i've add a "/autominecart tp" command to tp the autominecart. This command can be used in a command block (Last 2.5 version, that i've just uploaded)

might be difficult to do,
as i think multiverse put you back in cart after tp, so autominecart hasent anything to do with.
Did you think you can add multiverse support? because the minecraft dont despawn after ride throw a Portal :(

I can't place dispenser carts anymore or any other type of minecart other than a normal ride able minecart such as a TNT mine cart i can't place that anymore either.
hi,
another thing i noticed:
it dosent work well with traincarts plugin together.
im using the the traincarts hangrail plugin, and the hangrail plugin dosent handle those automatic minecarts correctly.
kinda troubelsome, if one enters the track that leads over lava on hangrails.
probably because you made some kind of a special minecart, so just those get removed if emty, and not standard minecarts?
(sorry, i have no idea how this stuff works, so im shooting in the dark here)

Hi, Nice Plugin, having it on my little Server. but i just ran in to a "problem" with it.
while the cart spawning works fine and all, ill tried to place an chesttcart for my farm transportation system, but it always puts me in an emty minecart rather then puttting the chestcart on the rails. same issiue if im laying down rails, and accidently clicking on the just layed rails.
so can could you maybe switch autocarts to just appear if one clicks with bar hands?

Yes it's because when a minecart is broken, the minecart item pop, and then the player can get free minecarts... I'll see if it's possible to prevent the minecart to pop if it's destroyed... Collisions won't be easy i guess, but i'll check too... If a minecart collide a mob a can destroy the mob... but if it's a player i'll be more complicated...

In that case, it works flawlessly as it is.
Well, when a cart hits another cart, they stop or change directions, which is rather annoying. If it is possible, to make them simply unstoppable by mobs or carts? And one more thing: I miss the ability to destroy carts with a bow&arrow... :/

They can't spawn horses because, the command is only for ops. (or it's a bug) - but i can add permission for an easyer integration to servers What kind of collisions ?

Awesome! After going through 3 plugins for cart management, yours seems to do the best job for its simplicity. Some ideas: Ignore collisions. Add simple permissions, I dont really want players spawning horses, I'm here for the carts.
