Zenchantments
Thanks for joining the Zenchantments Tech Support Discord and reporting bugs.
Try out the 1.20.4 version on the official test server:
Zenchantments is a custom enchantment plugin adds 70+ new enchantments to the game, covering a multitude of different uses. These include target-tracing arrows, lumber axes, block-breaking lasers, and much more. These custom enchantments are obtained through the normal enchantment process, and act like regular enchantments, capable of being combined and merged. A complete list of all these enchantments can be found below.
Gameplay
Zenchantments seamlessly expands the possible range of enchantments available using the enchanting table. Their appearance is made to match that of the original enchantments as closely as possible!
A freshly enchanted pickaxe with new enchantments
Zenchantments can be merged between tools in the Anvil and removed using the Grindstone.
Using the anvil to apply more Zenchantments to a tool
Once applied, Zenchantments can have effects when a tool is used, when you are under attack or continuously depending on how you deck out your gear.
Pierce mining a tall shaft, Fire smelting logs while being broken
Customization
The displayed name of each Zenchantment can be edited in each world's config file. Before you start editing those though, we will add proper multi language support in the coming weeks.
Because of the way Zenchantments recognizes enchantments on your tools, you must not change the enchantment display names after you have created enchanted items. Items with the old name for an enchantment will cease to work!
Each Zenchantment has a short description which can be enabled towards the bottom of the config file. If you change this setting after creating a few items with Zenchantments, the description will appear/disappear on each tool when it is repaired in the anvil. The enchantments will continue to work regardless of the descriptions setting.
Descriptions allow new players to quickly undersatand the function of the enchantments on their tools
World Safety
Zenchantments does its best to respect protection and logging plugins and is confirmed to work reliably with WorldGuard as well as HawkEye or CoreProtect. Most other protection/claims plugins such as Factions should work and no particular dependencies exist.
A shovel with Shred V is sparing somebody's plot protected by WorldGuard
Installing and Configuration
If you still have a Zenchantments config from an older version, we strongly recommend you to delete the old files, let it generate a fresh set, and re-apply any changes you made.
To install Zenchantments, simply add it to your plugins folder. Zenchantments creates one config file for each world active on your server. In it, you can disable enchantments individually, change their abundance, maximum available level and, for some of them, fine tune their power. To be fair though, the config file is pretty ugly. We can help you set it up if you contact us.
Out of the box, Zenchantments is configured to add a distinctly more powerful late-game experience without ruining the fun of the daily grind. Check out the list of available enchantments to see if there are any deal-breakers in it, then just set their probability to 0.0!
Adding new enchantment configuration manually:
If you don't want to redo your changes to the default Zenchantments config, simply add these items to the end of the list of enchantments in each .yml file:
- Blanket: probability: 3.0 tools: Axe, Shovel, Sword, Pickaxe, Hoe name: Blanket max-level: 3 cooldown: 0 power: 1.0 - Caffeine: probability: 4.0 tools: Helmet name: Caffeine max-level: 3 cooldown: 0 power: 1.0 - Chitin: probability: 5.0 tools: Elytra name: Chitin max-level: 4 cooldown: 0 power: 1.0 - HelpingHand: probability: 3.0 tools: Chestplate name: Helping Hand max-level: 1 cooldown: 0 power: 1.0 - MasterKey: probability: 4.0 tools: Chestplate name: Master Key max-level: 1 cooldown: 0 power: 1.0 - Trough: probability: 5.0 tools: Chestplate, Leggings name: Trough max-level: 1 cooldown: 0 power: 1.0
If you get errors while loading the config file, make sure your text editor didn't accidentally add any Tab characters to any .yml files, because servers are highly allergic to those.

Bug Reporting & Suggestions

You should try to fix anthropomorphism and make laser have a setting where it wont break blocks. Other than that great plugin!
My players are having a problem with using enchanted books with the enchants on them. The anvil takes the xp when they try to add the book to an item, but it does not add the enchant to it. Any help or ideas?
I'm not sure what's coming to the 1.9 update but here are some questions I have regarding the existing version:
1) Each enchantment has a cooldown setting. A cooldown doesn't seem applicable to an enchant such as Arborist and I know I can set the cooldown to whatever I want but how does it affect something like Arborist that should be "on" all the time?
2) Each enchantment has a setting for max levels. 2a. What is the difference in setting more than 1 level for an enchantment? They do the same thing no matter what level range I give it. 2b. Regardless if an enchantment is Level 1 or Level 3, players can still enchant it with less than 30 XP levels. How do I require a player to have at least 30 XP levels in order to get an enchantment no matter which level it is?
3) Each enchantment has a power setting and the description on the Bukkit page says that it makes the enchant more powerful. What does that mean exactly? How does something like Fireworks become more powerful?
I don't know about other folks but a slightly more detailed explanation on some of the settings would be beneficial. Also, none of the items glow when enchanted with Zenchantments unless a vanilla enchant is also present. Several of the enchants don't seem to work and a HUGE issue is that enchants such as Laser doesn't respect protection plugins such as World Guard and GriefPrevention. Because of that any enchant that changes blocks I simply do not enable even though they would be awesome to have.
It seems it is blowing up the console these past few days - I am sure it is the 1.9 update. I know you are working on it so in trying to help you out, here is a paste of my console.
I copied from one error to another and zenchantments is the only plugins name I can get out of it. So I hope this helps you get it ready for 1.9.

Thanks for going ahead with the update to 1.9 can't wait to see it :)
If you're not releasing the 1.9 version any time soon, it would be awesome if you can update github with the latest source.
Any news on the update for 1.9?
Maybe that´s absurd,but...I like so much the Rainbow Slam...Do you think you could make an "Evil" version of that Enchantment? Like: Black Slam or something else?
Greetings, keep working!! I really love so much that plugin.
@epicgenesect
It should be survival friendly, there are no enchant shops though, but the Enchanted Books, normal enchanting and Anvilling all works perfectly with this plugin.
is this survival friendly qith out commands? if not can you recommend a enchant shop that is compatible with this
You started to update in 1.9? Your my hero!
@silverbulletgms
Sorry for the late responses, I am finally on break from University. I am working on an update that fixes the bugs present in the 1.7 and 1.8 versions of the plugin, and I have started a 1.9 update as well. I have also added cool downs and enchantment power options to the config of each enchantment.
Any plans on officially updating this to 1.9? There are some massive game breaking bugs that need fixing and I do not have the resources to update it myself.
could u pls add possibility to translate the messages, best of all of them , but minimum the ones, when someone does enchant an item. thx so much! love this awesome mindblowing plugin, keep going man!

Haha, ever since the latest update, enchantments on items continuously switch places with each other and makes the item spaz out in your hand. Anything you can do about that?
can you add config file so we can create our own enchantment and edit the enchantments that you already added?
hey umm still wondering about the arrow bounce off bug? ??
