WordRank allows you to create 'words' that can redeemed for groups. It's great for getting new players to read your rules, simply hide the word in the rules that will, upon redemption, give the new player a new group that is allowed to leave the spawn area. This plugin was originally created thanks to someone with a great idea.
Features
- Create words that can be redeemed for player groups
- Words can set or add groups
- Words can be redeemed through chat or command
- API with support for custom words that redeem things other than groups
- Vault support, meaning this plugin supports 10 different permission plugins
- Custom events
- Metrics Support
- Source code is freely available on GitHub
- All commands (except redeem of course) can be used from the console
- Support for English, Canadian English, French, German, and Spanish
Permissions
You can view a full breakdown of the permissions here
- WordRank.*: Grants all possible WordRank permissions
- WordRank.add: Grants you the ability to add a new word /wr add
- WordRank.remove: Grants you the ability to remove a word /wr remove
- WordRank.removeall: Grants you the ability to remove all words at once /wr removeall
- WordRank.say: Grants you the ability to redeem a word through chat and through command /wr redeem
- WordRank.list: Grants you the ability to view a list of all the words /wr list
- WordRank.info: Grants you the ability to view a summary of information about a word /wr info
You can test/view what you have permission for by typing /wr, any command that shows up you have permission to use
/wordrank can also be used instead of /wr
Requirements
- Vault
- For redeeming words, you must have a permission plugin Vault supports. For checking permissions, this plugin uses bukkit's built-in permission system
- Compatible Craftbukkit version (this can be viewed on the downloads page)
Todo List
In order by priority
- Transfer plugin's localization methods to BukkitDev localization friendly
- Get all messages properly localized here on BukkitDev
- Clean up plugin's custom events and add new useful events
- Write up API usage on BukkitDev
API information coming soon, you can view the api yourself here
@mike101102
Thanks :D Any guess on how long until this is updated ?
@nicholasperkins
Please inform me if you do!
@mike101102
As long as you're checking superperms you are PEX compatible, and any other issue isn't a PEX bug at this point but a server-admin-struggling-to-configure-PEX problem. The only lingering superperms issue with PEX was resolved in the secret re-release of the latest :)
Please make it compatible to GroupManager.
@Crazdale
PEX has an option to support superperms and to report to it. WordRank checks superperms, yet never can find any of PEX's permissions. Sure, I can add a manual check for just PEX using its API, but that will have come in the next update.
Umm... this doesn't seem to work with PEX... I notice you say it's a PEX issue, but yet it seems to work fine when users on on the OP list... seems to me this 'IS' a WordRank problem. You Dev's are funny.... perhaps find a work around to make yer stuff work... cause guess what... all my other plugins work fine with PEX, 'EXCEPT' this one. >.>
Also.... since this DOES NOT work with PEX currently, you should remove the part in your description saying this plugin is compatible with it.
edit: oh, and btw, here are some similar plugins which seem to work fine with PEX --> AutoRank / SignRank
I have exactly the same problem as misthegod
It'll only rankup players when they are OP with the latest pex vesion
Please! Add PermissionsBukkit support! :)
@mike101102
Ok, Thanks! I would really appreciate it!
@IIGoldII
I will look into it
Hello there.
I was wondering if support for PermissionsBukkit will ever be added. I used to have this plugin a while ago, and switched to PB...is there a way you can add support for it?
Thanks.
Hi this is a good plugin.
However, I cant get it to work with the latest pex (1.16).
I already have this in my permissions.yml:
permissions: - WordRank.say - WordRank.*
whenever i type the word i still can't get the user to rank up it does however work on OPs and only OPs
@TechCraft
No it doesn't. Only supporting super perm plugins
Hey, Sorry to bother you but does it have permissions 3x support?
I have the old version of word rank and it works not sure how old though.
@Skarian
I just added that in 2.0.1
Hi, thanks for the good update, could you make it so that the person can do /[password] or something like that? They cannot enter it if I turn off their ability to speak.

I have taken this into consideration from all of you, and I have fixed all of your problems. Within the next day or so wordrank 2.0 will be avalible that supports bPermissions, PEX, and even SQLite and soon MySQL. You can keep a watchful eye on the github page until then.

This is never going to be good until you make it so that all of the available permission managers (PEX and Permissionsbukkit) work with this. I have wanted to use this plugin for many months, but every time I check it, the same thing: extremely limited permissions support. bPermissions is virtually unusable with my server setup, which is why I opt for PEX, but unfortunately that leaves me out in the cold when it comes to this plugin.
You have made a realy cool plugin. But ive mentioned that you have made a mistake in your source.
First it removes the current rank that the player had before he says the "Magic word". and then it removes the account of the player, so it resets the default group that must be removed. if that two things where changed so the server first removes the account and then remove current rank, this plugin wil be great!
Sorry for my bad english. And if you dont understand what i mean, pm me the source code and i will change it for you. so you can upload it again.
Hello, I added your plugin but I am having an issue (I am using it with bPermissions) The plugin works fine except when the person says the word they gain the permissions of the Builder rank, but are still called Guest Under their name in the log it will look like this
Name: - Guest - Builder
Because Guest is first (because that is the default class), bPermissions is choosing that as its name, I tried doing the "prefix.0.Guest and prefix.10.Builder thing, but it doesnt seem to work, any help is greatly appreciated
