Strict Versioning
Not normally needed, but if you're running a Minecraft server that is outdated, then strict versioning will only download compatible versions of plugins.
This feature is not needed for servers running up-to-date with Minecraft and is turned off by default. To turn it on, look in the config.
First Run
On the first run of the plugin it will automatically search all plugins installed and index/register them with the updater. (Happens when a new plugin is installed also). Then it will take the newly registered plugin(s) and attempt to re-download them all off dev.bukkit.org - This should only happen the first time it meets a new plugin; from then on the downloads will only be for new versions of plugins. However if the task is unsuccessful for a certain plugin (Bukkit page is different to plugin name) then it will un-register it and you'll have to register it manually with /upu register.
To plugin developers: It is quite likely that you don't want the updater to re-download your plugin for every new version-Your version is newer! If this is the case simply do /upu unregister <PluginName> and the updater will no longer attempt to update it.
Force update a plugin: If you wish to force update a plugin simply do /upu update <Plugin> and if you're impatient follow it with /upu check. Do not however type /reload until it is updated because then it will cancel the update. If you wish to force update all your plugins (corrupted, etc...) then simply look in the plugins/UltimatePluginUpdater folder and delete the cfgPlugins.data file - This will make the plugin think it is doing the 'first-run' again and it will re-register all installed plugins.
Configuration
There isn't a lot to configure: Just the colour scheme and which plugins are registered. The colour scheme can be changed in plugins/UltimatePluginUpdater/config.yml and the rest can be done with the commands above.

To-Do
- Improve update management eg. Option to set individual plugins to 'notify only'
Hello, I am running a mcpc+ 1.6.4 server and wanted to know will the Ultimate Plugin Updater v1 for 1.6.4 ONLY update to the latest versions of the plugins compatible with 1.6.4 or will it try and update all plugins to 1.7.x plugins if there is a 1.7.x version available Thanks
@icecoldpanda
Do /upu, if your plugins are listed then don't worry. The updater is functioning! Just no updates required... :)
Hello.
I have a big problems to register my plugins, I am able to preregister them, but not add them back on the list. When I do a /upu check I see that it starts to check, and that´s it. Nothing else.
Is there something I am doing wrong?
Oh, and I am not able to update from console, I have to log in to fix it... Is there any possibility to make it happen from console also?
@Eriatool
Hmm..., Is your server not compatible with the latest version? If this is the case do /upu unregister [PluginName] :)
I think there is a problem updating with Authme-reloaded: When the Ultimate Plugin Updater updates, it turns off ...
@icecoldpanda
Yeah, now. This plugin is designed to work on as many versions at once and all builds currently available will work from mc 1.2.5 through to 1.7.2. If you experience any bugs; just report them! :)
Hello.
I hope and I guess you are already working on it. But do you have any estimation on update for 1.7.2?
@gary568
Firstly I recommend removing any versioning/revisions from the jar name as UltimatePluginUpdater will use the same jar regardless of the actual version.
To install: /upu install Wireless-Redstone wireless-redstone wireless-redstone
To register as an existing plugin: /upu register Wireless-Redstone wirelessredstone 1.9.2 wireless-redstone
Above, where there is the absence of a '/', just type it into chat like normal and send it as a chat message (aka talk).
@storm345
Im trying to registerthis plugin but it aint working
For the <slugname> part, do i write it like this /<wireless-redstone> or normaly like this: wireless-redstone. it aint working for me :( i even tried typing this : http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/wireless-redstone/
HELP please :(
Could u write the commands for me please. the file name is wirelessredstone 1.9.2.jar and the link to the plugin is http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/wireless-redstone/
@carsonfg
When it asks for the filename, type anything you like into the chat. From then on the installed plugin's file will be called <Thing from chat>.jar
Also the bukkit name/slug for that plugin is: paidranks
I also did /upu install 'PaidRanks' but it just keeps spamming
"Please type the fileName of the plugin.jar in the chat"
IT JUST KEEPS SPAMMING IT.
What do I do now :(
Link to PaidRanks plugin http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/paidranks/
But how do I get it to work for PaidRanks plugin?
@carsonfg
The 'fileName' is the name you want to call the plugin's jar. Eg. for uCars the file is called 'ucars.jar' so you want to type in 'ucars'. (Don't include the .jar) :D
@MrMe1003
This plugin is for people who want their server to be up-to-date with the latest plugin versions. Not many plugins (If any) release new versions for past gamemode's unless Bukkit is updating and in 99% of those cases they have backwards support anyway. (Also most 1.5.* plugins will work with the latest CraftBukkit anyway). I understand when Bukkit is updating that perhaps it's less useful (But updates will work for past MC version of all dev.bukkit good plugins and 99% of even the worstly made ones - Because with dev builds there generally is no/little new API). So basically for plugins that are for 1.5, register them; but for ones that release builds for the newer version; unregister them. However honestly I highly doubt that any new uploads/versions of plugin include 1.5 on their official list anyways (Although they'll work).
How do I install a Plugin with /upu Install <Plugin> It says put a fileName of a file what does that mean?
Can you set a feature in the config where you are able to set the version to update to? For example, say you have a server that is in 1.5.2, and not updated to 1.6+ because you have certain plugins that are only up to 1.5, and not 1.6. If this were the case, you would not want to automatically install plugins for 1.6, 1.7, etc.
Awesome plugin! Helps me alot! Especially when i have 50 plugins.
Wonderful plugin, major rep for being a "drag, drop, done" plugin as it registers all the plugins and checks for updates automatically with no user input. Does indeed install new plugins if it detects outdated ones. Once again, great plugin.
@Dyenx999
Glad you like it! :D
