UberForest
General
A highly configurable forest plugin. Forests spread naturally at a configurable rate based purely on sapling growth! Spruce and Birch saplings can also grow very large variants similar to oak and jungle trees (and they look good too)! Overcrowding algorithms allow you to configure how dense or sparse forests can grow. You can even configure a world with massive dense forests that players need to work at to keep them from spreading too thick.
Maintenance free reforestation on well used larger Minecraft servers is now a possibility!

Uber Trees
- Spruce Trees up to 24 blocks tall
- Birch Trees up to 16 blocks tall
- Checks if the conditions are good for growing an Uber tree (similar to the normal Minecraft tree checking algorithm)
- Trees will not destroy any non-nature blocks
- Trees requiring a larger base will sometimes create "roots" one block down if needed
- No user interaction required! Works with or without bonemeal!
- Users can still farm trees! Torches placed within 2 blocks of a sapling will prevent it from growing Uber, yet still allow it to grow normally :)
Forest Growth
- Forests plant themselves, once a sapling grows into a tree, a new sapling (configurable) of that tree type is placed nearby on an appropriate tile.
- No user interaction required! Works with or without bonemeal!
- Players can easily manage UberForest growth by smacking away any saplings. No saplings = no spreading as the saplings only spawn when other saplings grow :)
- Adjust the rate of growth in specific biomes. Keep your plains plain!
- Overcrowding protection allows forests to grow "spaced" out or jam packed with trees and saplings. It's up to you! See the detailed configuration section for more details: here
- Use combinations of fence, cobble, smooth brick, torches, glowstone, crops and logs to stop spreading. These blocks will also work when placed 1 under the surface. Saplings will not spawn within whatever distance overcrowding radius is for these blocks. Complete List

Tips
- If you are running as separate tree chopping plugin you may want to test if the uber trees chop properly in it. If not then you can just disable the uber trees in the config and just leave sapling spreading enabled :)
- Remember ForestSpreadSaplings and UberForestSpreadSaplings are additive!
- Regenerate your config if you're upgrading from prior to 1.0 to see all the options available.
Future Improvements
- Implement a better way of players managing growth near their land.
- Mycelium/UberMushroom Growth!
- Sharks with Lasers (one day!)
This is still working on 1.8.3 but try to keep it up!
Are there any thoughts to making a mod like this. It looks interesting, but I don't play on a server.

I'm currently considering writing a plugin that creates similar effects as UberForest, but uses a different method and algorithm to accomplish vegetation growth... I'm not per se interested in taking over this plugin, as it isn't Open Source, unless this is something that @Tobyz28 wishes to change.

Hi Tobyz28 - this plugin runs fine with 1.7.2 but it doesn't know about the new 2 tree types, which leads to some weird effects - Acacia tree's for instance spawn Oak saplings instead.

Could you also add the ability to set what saplings will spread in what biomes? I'm having a problem with oak forests taking over my new savanna, for example.
What about trees added trough forge-mods?
IC2 rubber trees for example, or Project Red trees?
An amazing plugin that has helped our server a lot. Could you perhaps add options to allow for grass and flowers and such to spread too? That would turn this plugin into the ultimate tool for having a living, realistic world.
The SaplingOverCrowdingRadius says it can be 0-5. Can we go any higher with that so that tree trunks will be a minimum of say 10 blocks apart?
Toby make the trees a little bit taller if they grow at such a rapid rate it's going to be bad because it'll be hard for the player to move around in forests making it unrealistic of course. At least have the logs go up a bit more before the leaves sprout.
Are you going to add the new tree types that Mojang will introduce in 1.7?
think u can add the other 2 trees? to the plugin? like a uber jungle tree would look like a redwood in shape and a uber oak tree looks like this? http://static2.bigstockphoto.com/thumbs/6/2/1/large2/1269008.jpg the jungle tree in uber form could be like 5 radis trunk and the uber oak could be 4 radis trunk and the hight of a vinnlla 2x2 jungal tree i know there are alredy vinnlla ubers but that dont do some stuff i like ur plugin for 1. reforsting its fun to watch players fight the forest from takeing uver there towns xD 2. the ingame uber oak and jungel trees are lame to look at no charater unlike ur uber spruce and berch witch look alsome also i run mcmmo on my server and the wood cutting skill in mcmmo works well with ur plugin so u know :P some other ideas for ur plugin uber Catis maby? uber mellons? uber Punkins? all the faces pointed inwered to make it look like 1 big punken? any who love the plugin keep up the good work!

Only other thing i can think of GetSome would be an obstruction preventing the tree from growing uber. If there is anything (other blocks/a roof overhang etc) in it's growth zone the tree will just grow normally. Try this in an empty open field (long grass/flowers are fine) and let me know. If it still persists, please send me a pastbin of the config.yml so i can replicate it on my end :) Thanks!

using for birch and spruce. I set chance of ubertree to 100 and tried to test with bonemeal and it only will grow regular trees. Ubertrees are on and will grow if left to grow by themselves. I'm using Choptree and so far haven't seen any issues with it and ubertrees.

Hey GetSome1775 yes they should work just fine. Do you have any other tree plugins that may conflict? Are you using this on Birch or Spruce saplings? It will not work with Jungle or oak tress (they already have their in game uberness out of the box) :)
