WHAT IS IT?

Trails is a great RPG plugin that works on the premise that, in the real world, walking wears down trails and paths from dirt to stone, eventually. Trails aims to add this element to Minecraft by automatically creating trails, paths, and roads based on the use of a trail. The trail contents and wear passes are fully configurable, unlocking the possibilities for a number of different trails or uses on your server.

The plugin even has Towny support to add extra control over where paths can form!

(Example Use)

METRICS

This plugin utilises Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:

A unique identifier
The server's version of Java
Whether the server is in offline or online mode
The plugin's version
The server's version
The OS version/name and architecture
The core count for the CPU
The number of players online
The Metrics version
Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true.

Metrics help me as a developer continue to add support for the versions my users are running and help me gague the use of the plugin.

CONFIG

Beta version 0.5 will contain custom block support. At the moment, the only hierarchy is grass > dirt > gravel > stonebrick, and sand > sandstone > redsand. More info will be posted about it later!

PERMS & COMMANDS

The plugin comes with one command,

/trails <on/off>
Perm: trails.off

An alias for trails is paths

IF YOU WANT TO CONNECT THE PLUGIN TO TOWNY, DO THE FOLLOWING
In the config, change HookTowny: to true. This will set trails to only form in the wilderness.

Hello, do you know if it works in 1.15.2? I have tried with your new version that is in spigot but it doesn't work. Also, if I change "GRASS" to "GRASS_BLOCK", the plugin crashes.

I don't believe it works any longer. I maintain a branch on Github (https://github.com/MinevoltRPG/Trails/tree/TrailsRewrite) and Spigot (https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/trails.49930/) and have recently rewritten the plugin but there were bugs during bug testing and i lost interest before i finished squashing them. If you know a dev or can program yourself the source is available. And theres always the off chance I'll become interested again and finish the project.

So it seems this mod DOES work with 1.8, but the steps do not work.

Perhaps one of the commands used for detecting total steps taken on a single block has been deprecated between the 1.7 -> 1.8 update, and if you use any other number than 0, the tile will not change. Percent chance works perfectly fine it seems, but i haven't been able to do too much testing as i'm not always home.

If the developer of this awesome mod comes back online, please update or send up the github for this mod. I would really like to update this to work with 1.8.

Have you repeatedly tested this? I do wanna get this plugin but if it's gonna take over the configs of our 72 other plugins that may be an issue

I have a MAJOR issue. I installed Trails, cannot find the file to remove it first of all. And its taken over Configs for other plugins, primarily Roleplay chat and essentials. I go into my essentials config file and its the trails file, same thing with roleplay chat. Any idea how to fix this?

It doesnt show me any type of trail, it says that i have it but when i look i dont. Any settings different? Am I doing something wrong?

Sorry but it only lets me see a few trails. is there any fix? like do i need to fix me settings?

Awesome plugin! On my server i use it as a way for players to track other players down, leading to more battles between players. Please could you make it so the trodden trails slowly revert, because in only stuck with using dirt or farmland since they revert back to grass naturally, but i would like it if I could also have the trails go from grass to dirt, then stone, then gravel, then sand, then sandstone, and it would slowly go backwards after noone has trodden on it in ages, so the terrain isn't ruined with a load of stone and gravel.

I absolutely love this plugin but I had to remove it. Players are trampling over safe zones and world guarded areas with it and abusing it. The only way I'll bring it back is to come up with a way for multi world disables, or to respect world guarded areas.
