TotalQuest
The only full blown quest framework!
TotalQuest is a framework to create and manage quests on your server. It's modular and (after it's finished) open for developers to expand as much as they want.
Some things to expect:
- Quest interaction goes through the map (id 0)
- Multiple active quests support
- Different kind of rewards (modular, developers can create their own rewards! For example:)
- Items
- Economy money
- Permissions
- Different kind of quests (modular, developers can create their own objectives! For example:)
- Go to location x,y,z
- Kill x mobs
- Gather x items
- Optional requirements for starting a quest (modular, developers can create their own requirements! For example:)
- Have more than 5 hearts of health
- Completed other quest first
- Activate events after or during a quest (modular, developers can create their own event types! This goes through the TotalEvent plugin. For example:)
- Spawn mobs
- Spawn items
- Backup/restore piece of the world
- Spawn blocks
- Build structures

Donating
I've had a few questions about donating. I've thought about this a lot and I stand by my opinion that you shouldn't donate if you haven't even got anything yet. That's why I thought about a new system. If you want to donate you can by clicking on the donate button on the top right of this page. But what are the benefits of donating? If I get a few donations I will try and take some vacation days and work non-stop on TotalQuest. Also if you want you can get early builds of TotalQuest.
Metrics
All the Total plugins use a service called Metrics by Hidendra. This will send anonymous data about the usage of this plugin to a website so we developers can monitor how much our plugins are being used. Experimental tag is gone now ;)
To all... When the Bukkit staff removes the experimental tag from TotalQuest I will be releasing a new version of it.
It's way more stable than before! Also more stuff is being added every day! So stay tuned! :D
@ffaen123 Sorry... Need to wait for the Bukkit staff to get TotalQuest out of Experimental phase :(
@donald1440 Yeah... That shouldn't hard to make. I will make a ticket from your comment.
no i dident mean that i meant that when a user complites a quest a command is run. for exsample
/pay &player 2000 or /kill &player
the &player is the name of the player that complited the quest.
As far as I can see, there's no files yet...
Subscribed! :)
@donald1440
I have at the moment no plans for Spout support. This is because I don't want players to be forced to use Spout to use this plugin. That's why I created a way to write on the map and use that, including changing of your active slot, as a menu.
Check the Alpha version out. Here you can see what the plugin can do.
User input is a good one. Will probably implement something like: Quest: "What is the password?!". Player types in chat "dunno". Chat message get cancelled and used for the quest answer.
hi am just wondering about a feature
is it posseble to run one or more commands when a player does a quest, and a varible you can put in as the player?
also have you any planns for spout support?
great plugin
@RyonikDev
:D thanks for telling me that, subscribed.
@RyonikDev
Thanks for you kind words RyonikDev!
Just a little update. This project is frozen until there is a new RB of CraftBukkit out. I have some serious problems setting up a temp server with the pre RB builds.
@RunicAlchemist
was just checking out this plugin, read comments and had to post to say to Runic that right at the top there is a subscription tab. Click on that and check the box for getting file updates, that way as soon as new uploaded file is approved, you'll be notified. ;)
dadaemon, nice project you got here. Keep it up and remember, you do this for your own satisfaction, no need to rush anything. Take your time. nurture it as if it your were a momma bear and this was your lil' bear. hah.
Since the alpha version has not been completed this week, do you have any idea when it's going to be released? Sorry if i'm rushing you or anything..
A nice addition to this would be adding support for the Heroes plugin. So when you finish a quest it can award you exp. It would also help if you added support for the Vampires plugin. We have story line on our server that would only work if it required you to be a vampire to start a quest. Or turn you into a vampire once you finish it. Thanks for taking these ideas into consideration :) please pm me or post the alpha version when it's ready. I would love to test it!
@RunicAlchemist
Thanks for commenting RunicAlchemist. I hope I can finish a Alpha version this week. Currently I'm working hard on the quest system.
:) seems really nice, I'm really looking forward to it! Can you release an alpha version? Or give me an ETA? Nice work!
@rythar
Hey rythar. Yeah I'm still working on this (was working on the events and those work great!) Hope it will be live before 1.9 but don't count on it :)
If you have more ideas to add please tell me!
Really hope your still working on this. It sounds like a great idea.
