Changelog

1.4 Updates!

Due to extensive recommended ban changes, I recommend everyone delete their config files to get the new defaults. HOWEVER if you have customized your config file, you should make a copy first so that after you get the new defaults, you can copy/paste your customizations back in.

Sorry for the trouble, it seems Tekkit is more broken than I thought. :\ Had to add some more bans and adjust a few.

Important lesson I learned recently: Pressing C with the phil stone equipped gets the player a crafting interface which bypasses all the crafting bans! Unfortunately, banning that ring would finish off EE altogether, since it's the most basic item and used to craft the transmutation tablets. I've tightened the contraband scanning in response, but you should expect that some players will get banned items very briefly (they won't be able to do any damage with them) because they use this method for crafting. Be prepared to explain to your players that to avoid crafting banned items and wasting their materials, they should use a crafting table rather than the Philosopher's stone to do their crafting.

  • Removed default crafting bans, because they also banned normal crafting like diamond blocks to diamonds. Replaced with an option to "remove UU matter to non renewable item recipes" option which is on by default. Most UU matter recipes are still in, but a few which resulted in items that would normally take some time to collect have been removed, for example diamonds.
  • Armor slot items which are ownership banned will now be correctly confiscated.
  • In case a player gets his hands on a banned item, now banned items will be removed as soon as they're held in hand, in addition to the occasional full-inventory scans which are still in effect.
  • Removed nether diamond ores from the default world bans list. Too log spammy, and some folks have complained that they don't think those should be on the default ban list.
  • Moved energy collectors and tesla coil to the ownership bans list, and now ownership banned items can't be placed (built as blocks) in the world.
  • Added RM furnace, black hole band, and void ring to the default ownership ban list due to item duplication exploits.
  • Added hammers to the default ownership bans list because they can be used (hold right click) to injure players even when pvp is off, and to kill animals which are ordinarily protected by anti grief.
