I'm too lazy to upload TARDIS files to Bukkit anymore, as builds are automatically created when the plugin is updated and changes pushed to GitHub.
Version specific downloads can be found here: https://tardis.pages.dev/download
Please make sure you are using the latest Spigot/Paper builds (for the Minecraft version you are running) before installing TARDIS or creating an issue!
What it does
TARDIS is a plugin that gives you the ability to create a Police Box that lets you time travel (teleport) to random locations. It adds a Whovian twist to the typical /sethome and /home commands.
As a player, you can:
- Create a TARDIS that is bigger on the inside.
- Time travel to a random location.
- Time travel back home (where you created the TARDIS initially).
- Save and list interesting time travel locations, so you can return to them easily.
- Take companions with you when you time travel.
- Make your TARDIS blend in with the Chameleon Circuit.
- Use your own schematic to build the TARDIS interior
- Grow new TARDIS rooms
- Use Artron Energy
- Remote control the TARDIS
- Custom TARDIS sounds with companion Resource Pack
- Custom TARDIS textures with companion Resource Pack

Installation
As a minimum, just drop the TARDIS.jar, TARDISChunkGenerator.jar (look under Additional Files on the download page) and any optional plugins listed below into the Bukkit plugins folder and start your server. For more detailed instructions see: https://tardis.pages.dev/installation-v5
Optional installs
These are not needed for TARDIS to function, but enhance the plugin with extra features...
- Install the TARDIS-SoundResourcePack in the Minecraft client to hear custom TARDIS sounds
- Install the TARDIS-Resource-Pack to see aal the fancy textures and models (requires TARDIS v4.2 or higher).
- Install the TARDISChunkGenerator plugin so that you can generate TARDISes in their own self-contained world (included on the TARDIS plugin download page under Additional files).
- Install WorldGuard to automatically protect your TARDIS from griefing, and stop mobs spawning in TARDIS worlds.
- Install TARDISWeepingAngels to add some Whovian mobs to the game.
- Install a Permissions plugin, so that you can restrict or grant players the rights to use TARDIS’ different features. We like PermissionsBukkit.

Bugs / Requests
Please post a ticket for TARDIS plugin requests and bugs, thank you :)
WARNING: I am no longer prepared to waste my time looking at incomplete tickets. If your ticket does not follow the guidelines set out below, it will be deleted immediately!
Make sure you have read the FAQs first, as your question may already be answered there. Also make sure you have searched for a previous ticket with the same/similar issue (use the Filters to search closed tickets).
If you are going to create a BUG ticket you need to supply relevant information (as I'm not a mind reader, nor do I have access to your server...) - as a minimum you need:
- Exact CraftBukkit version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis version
command if possible, otherwise copy from server log - Exact TARDIS version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis version
command if possible, otherwise copy from server log - The server log showing the entire error (as a paste or at Pastebin - NOT a screenshot) - this should be the log from when the server starts up right through to when the error occurs
- If no error in the log, then a video of the bug happening or the EXACT steps needed to reproduce the issue.
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/config.yml file or other configuration file if relevant
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/TARDIS.db file if relevant
- List of other plugins on server
Stats
Basic statistics are collected for some versions of the TARDIS plugin (v2.5.8 and earlier). You can opt out at any time by setting opt-out: true
in plugins/PluginMetrics/config.yml
External web access
Version 2.8 (and higher) of this plugin includes a translation feature (the /tardissay
command) that connects to the Lingva translation service.
You can prevent players from using the command by removing / not giving them the permission tardis.translate
The SpoutCraft is out of date, therefore we cannot hear the sound effects. Help!
There seems to be a permissions problem in TARDIS 1.7 for some people, forcing them to be in 'exile' (which means that they have the permission
tardis.exile
).This is probably because the permissions plugin is not handling
tardis.*
properly (as configured in the TARDIS plugin.yml).Try setting (PermissionsBukkit)
or (Essentials GroupManager)
or how ever your permissions plugin takes away a permission and see what happens...
@MERCHANToDEATH
There seems to be a problem with permissions in 1.7, try version 1.7.1 (on the files page) or use version 1.6 until it is sorted :( What permissions plugin do you use?
What is exile status? I can't get into my tardis and when I try to use the /tardis comehere command it says I am exile and can't call it to me.
@IKFFxRaPiDzZ
You need to have the spout plugin on the server, and use the spout client, however spout is not yet compatible with minecraft 1.4.2, so no sfx at the moment...
how do i get the sound effects to work? i have typed /sfx on and its done nothing
@NL_Alexxx
Will test with GroupManager as this seems to be a permissions issue.
EDIT: tested with a slight change to plugin.yml and is working OK on my server. Will upload new file. 1.7.1
TARDIS 1.6 stills works with CraftBukkit 1.4.2, so go back to that version for now...
http://pastebin.com/188iUGDC Can you help me please
@eccentricnz
I have the same problem and I have EVERY permission, since I am the owner I just have the * as a permission... I'm using GroupManager
Edit: It also says an internal server error occured when I use /tardis admin area start...
Maybe you should take the areas out fow now! I am dying becaue I want to test this plugin so bad!!!
Or ou could make it use worldguard regions...
@ewized
Technically, I could make the inner TARDIS indestructible as well as the Police Box, but what do you do about modified interiors that are bigger than the original schematic?
All the TARDIS interiors face the same way now, and I just modify the player yaw when teleporting them inside and back out again. Makes using schematics much easier :)
@grazingcow
Do you by any chance have the
tardis.exile
permission? If not can you list the TARDIS permissions you do have and what permissions plugin you use.@eccentricnz
I'm using the newest version of craftbukkit. 1.4.2-R0.2 I'm just trying to travel with it and when i set the cords then press the button to travel it says
"Note:Your travel has been restricted to the [*] area!"
"All available parking spots are taken in this area!"
Then is shows this error

Can you make it so that the TARDIS is fully indestructible? Also my schematic the door is facing north just to let you know.
@grazingcow
Going to need a bit more info than the console error, what were you trying to do at the time the error occurred? What CB version are you running? What version of TARDIS plugin? Please post a ticket...
@eccentricnz
Thanks man and gratz on the 10k downloads. The wife and I can't wait til Christmas ;)

HELP PLEASE!!!
Over 10,000 downloads! Thanks everyone :)
@xXSshadowXx
I'll have a look at adding the TARDIS key to a players inventory, if missing, tomorrow. Will make it a configurable option, something like
givekey: true
, so you can turn the functionality on and off. I have already changed the default TARDIS key to a STICK as I've found the REDSTONE_TORCH is a bit buggy when clicking on top-half of the door.@eccentricnz
Ok your right. There was a world in there I temporarily disabled. I have removed it and will test it over on my test server.
Ok looks like it fixed it. Thanks a ton.
On another note. Would it be possible to add a check when the player exits to the new world. If that person doesn't have a key item on them then it could be added to their inventory? We use different inventories for our worlds and I also use a redstone torch as the key. This could be toggle able in the config. If not it's no big deal. I can just set the key to dirt or wood. That way I can ensure my players can easily get back in their Tardis.
@xXSshadowXx
Champion! Can you check your TARDIS config.yml and check to see whether the list of worlds in there actually matches the active worlds you have on your server? I betting that they don't match...
