Downloads
I'm too lazy to upload TARDIS files to Bukkit anymore, as builds are automatically created when the plugin is updated and changes pushed to GitHub.
Version specific downloads can be found here: https://tardis.pages.dev/download
Please make sure you are using the latest Spigot/Paper builds (for the Minecraft version you are running) before installing TARDIS or creating an issue!
What it does
TARDIS is a plugin that gives you the ability to create a Police Box that lets you time travel (teleport) to random locations. It adds a Whovian twist to the typical /sethome and /home commands.
As a player, you can:
- Create a TARDIS that is bigger on the inside.
- Time travel to a random location.
- Time travel back home (where you created the TARDIS initially).
- Save and list interesting time travel locations, so you can return to them easily.
- Take companions with you when you time travel.
- Make your TARDIS blend in with the Chameleon Circuit.
- Use your own schematic to build the TARDIS interior
- Grow new TARDIS rooms
- Use Artron Energy
- Remote control the TARDIS
- Custom TARDIS sounds with companion Resource Pack
- Custom TARDIS textures with companion Resource Pack

Installation
As a minimum, just drop the TARDIS.jar, TARDISChunkGenerator.jar (look under Additional Files on the download page) and any optional plugins listed below into the Bukkit plugins folder and start your server. For more detailed instructions see: https://tardis.pages.dev/installation-v5
Optional installs
These are not needed for TARDIS to function, but enhance the plugin with extra features...
- Install the TARDIS-SoundResourcePack in the Minecraft client to hear custom TARDIS sounds
- Install the TARDIS-Resource-Pack to see aal the fancy textures and models (requires TARDIS v4.2 or higher).
- Install the TARDISChunkGenerator plugin so that you can generate TARDISes in their own self-contained world (included on the TARDIS plugin download page under Additional files).
- Install WorldGuard to automatically protect your TARDIS from griefing, and stop mobs spawning in TARDIS worlds.
- Install TARDISWeepingAngels to add some Whovian mobs to the game.
- Install a Permissions plugin, so that you can restrict or grant players the rights to use TARDIS’ different features. We like PermissionsBukkit.

Bugs / Requests
Please post a ticket for TARDIS plugin requests and bugs, thank you :)
WARNING: I am no longer prepared to waste my time looking at incomplete tickets. If your ticket does not follow the guidelines set out below, it will be deleted immediately!
Make sure you have read the FAQs first, as your question may already be answered there. Also make sure you have searched for a previous ticket with the same/similar issue (use the Filters to search closed tickets).
If you are going to create a BUG ticket you need to supply relevant information (as I'm not a mind reader, nor do I have access to your server...) - as a minimum you need:
- Exact CraftBukkit version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis version
command if possible, otherwise copy from server log - Exact TARDIS version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis version
command if possible, otherwise copy from server log - The server log showing the entire error (as a paste or at Pastebin - NOT a screenshot) - this should be the log from when the server starts up right through to when the error occurs
- If no error in the log, then a video of the bug happening or the EXACT steps needed to reproduce the issue.
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/config.yml file or other configuration file if relevant
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/TARDIS.db file if relevant
- List of other plugins on server
Stats
Basic statistics are collected for some versions of the TARDIS plugin (v2.5.8 and earlier). You can opt out at any time by setting opt-out: true
in plugins/PluginMetrics/config.yml
External web access
Version 2.8 (and higher) of this plugin includes a translation feature (the /tardissay
command) that connects to the Lingva translation service.
You can prevent players from using the command by removing / not giving them the permission tardis.translate
@sithlordtom2
By default it is built in the world that you first create the TARDIS in (at about level 20), but you can set the inner TARDISs to be built in a 'default' world - see the appropriate section on the configuration page
Hello, I'm a server admin who is running this plugin on my server and I was wondering where the TARDIS interior is placed. Is it in the main world that the TARDIS was created in or is it in a different world?
@badsanta211
Next update will be out this weekend.
Have you read this comment: comment #234
When's the next update? I NEED!!!!!!by the way is this a bug? every time i make a TARDIS the controls only work once then they dont do a thing.tried the update. dosnt work. help?
@MERCHANToDEATH
Player SFX setting currently overrides the config setting, try running the command
/tardis sfx off
. This is fixed in the next update :)Love your plugin, but I'm having a conflict with it and other music plugins like ambient spout, and jukebukkit. I set the sfx to false but I still here the doctor talking all the time. How do I turn all sound fx off???
@Boxfriend
I have managed to get the repeaters to not work through this scenario...
Could this be similar to what is happening to you?
If you exit the TARDIS and re-enter by clicking on the Police Box door, the repeaters work again.
@morphtrust
You need to use a Spout client to hear TARDIS sounds... unfortunately the Tekkit client does not have spout features, so no sounds. Nothing I can do about this until the new Minecraft ModAPI comes out :(
You could try using the Spout client with Tekkit Server using a modified minecraft.jar file perhaps (ie one that has all the Tekkit mods installed)? Not quite sure how you would do that though as SpoutCraft tends to update automatically
hey is there any way already to get the custom sounds for the tardis in bukkit? I am running tekkit and want those but nothing I have done will let me hear these sounds :(
@Boxfriend
Okay, that looks fine. Will try some more testing at my end to see if I can pinpoint the problem.
@eccentricnz
here is a link to my TARDIS.db
@MERCHANToDEATH
Google is your friend :) Haven't tested this but should work...
http:forums.bukkit.org/threads/wgen-nullterrain-v0-4-2-generate-empty-worlds-1-2-5-r1-0.27362/
or this one:
http:dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/cleanroomgenerator/
Anyone know if you can make a void (empty) world with multi-verse or something to make the tardis world more interesting. Just wondering.
@Boxfriend
Can you PM me a link to your TARDIS.db file?
@eccentricnz
yes, i just double checked and when i click the button after adjusting the repeaters' delays it just lags for a second then nothing else happens. i can leave the tardis and i end up exactly where i was when i entered. I've been able to use commands to travel, but i can't just go somewhere random using the repeaters and the button
@Boxfriend
Seems to be working OK for me...
When you run the update command (
/tardis update z-repeater
), and then right-click the moved repeater, do you get a message saying The position of the TARDIS z-repeater was updated successfully ?@Boxfriend
I'm aware of the teleporting to the old door position, and I think I've fixed this for the next update currently WIP...
Will do some testing with moved repeaters to see if I can reproduce the other issue
I've completely rebuilt the interior of my TARDIS and i've made it at least 3 times bigger, but when i enter it from outside, i end up teleporting to where the old door was before i moved it (and updated it) and i can't seem to get the random location travelling to work, i did what the video said and switched all the redstone repeaters then pressed the button (i've updated all of their positions...twice to be sure) but nothing happens. i can only travel to the saves i've created. it would be much appreciated if someone could tell me why it wasn't working or if it was fixed, as the people on my server would probably like to try out the random travelling.
@YukiDono
You can just use bPermissions instead of PermissionsBukkit...
i tried to use permissions bukkit but it clashed with one that came installed bPermissions when i removed bpermissions and left permissions bukkit it caused massive lag and everything stopped working correctly.
