I'm too lazy to upload TARDIS files to Bukkit anymore, as builds are automatically created when the plugin is updated and changes pushed to GitHub.
Version specific downloads can be found here: https://tardis.pages.dev/download
Please make sure you are using the latest Spigot/Paper builds (for the Minecraft version you are running) before installing TARDIS or creating an issue!
What it does
TARDIS is a plugin that gives you the ability to create a Police Box that lets you time travel (teleport) to random locations. It adds a Whovian twist to the typical /sethome and /home commands.
As a player, you can:
- Create a TARDIS that is bigger on the inside.
- Time travel to a random location.
- Time travel back home (where you created the TARDIS initially).
- Save and list interesting time travel locations, so you can return to them easily.
- Take companions with you when you time travel.
- Make your TARDIS blend in with the Chameleon Circuit.
- Use your own schematic to build the TARDIS interior
- Grow new TARDIS rooms
- Use Artron Energy
- Remote control the TARDIS
- Custom TARDIS sounds with companion Resource Pack
- Custom TARDIS textures with companion Resource Pack

Installation
As a minimum, just drop the TARDIS.jar, TARDISChunkGenerator.jar (look under Additional Files on the download page) and any optional plugins listed below into the Bukkit plugins folder and start your server. For more detailed instructions see: https://tardis.pages.dev/installation-v5
Optional installs
These are not needed for TARDIS to function, but enhance the plugin with extra features...
- Install the TARDIS-SoundResourcePack in the Minecraft client to hear custom TARDIS sounds
- Install the TARDIS-Resource-Pack to see aal the fancy textures and models (requires TARDIS v4.2 or higher).
- Install the TARDISChunkGenerator plugin so that you can generate TARDISes in their own self-contained world (included on the TARDIS plugin download page under Additional files).
- Install WorldGuard to automatically protect your TARDIS from griefing, and stop mobs spawning in TARDIS worlds.
- Install TARDISWeepingAngels to add some Whovian mobs to the game.
- Install a Permissions plugin, so that you can restrict or grant players the rights to use TARDIS’ different features. We like PermissionsBukkit.

Bugs / Requests
Please post a ticket for TARDIS plugin requests and bugs, thank you :)
WARNING: I am no longer prepared to waste my time looking at incomplete tickets. If your ticket does not follow the guidelines set out below, it will be deleted immediately!
Make sure you have read the FAQs first, as your question may already be answered there. Also make sure you have searched for a previous ticket with the same/similar issue (use the Filters to search closed tickets).
If you are going to create a BUG ticket you need to supply relevant information (as I'm not a mind reader, nor do I have access to your server...) - as a minimum you need:
- Exact CraftBukkit version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis version
command if possible, otherwise copy from server log - Exact TARDIS version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis version
command if possible, otherwise copy from server log - The server log showing the entire error (as a paste or at Pastebin - NOT a screenshot) - this should be the log from when the server starts up right through to when the error occurs
- If no error in the log, then a video of the bug happening or the EXACT steps needed to reproduce the issue.
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/config.yml file or other configuration file if relevant
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/TARDIS.db file if relevant
- List of other plugins on server
Stats
Basic statistics are collected for some versions of the TARDIS plugin (v2.5.8 and earlier). You can opt out at any time by setting opt-out: true
in plugins/PluginMetrics/config.yml
External web access
Version 2.8 (and higher) of this plugin includes a translation feature (the /tardissay
command) that connects to the Lingva translation service.
You can prevent players from using the command by removing / not giving them the permission tardis.translate
Hey can yo make the Chameleon Circuit have a black list of items as some items just broke the tardis like air. Also add a /tardis travel force and the location the tardis is facing.
@eccentricnz
Hmm, well I can travel with the buttons now, but I still can't travel across different worlds. There is not a timelords.yml file even after letting the plugin recreate the folder and restarting the server. Admin update still gives the same error, too. Thanks for working on this!! It is awesome.
@eccentricnz
Thanks so much!
I got it to work with Spout, for some reason when I make quotes.txt empty, it throws that error I posted below.
@jillfire1
Will add an admin command to print out the currently configured options, check back soon!
@hidillon
See other comments below about the plugins/TARDIS folder... Should solve your problem
@BrighamX
Added instructions for the Chameleon Circuit, plus the some new commands, enjoy!
LOVE this plugin
little thing
How do I use the Chameleon curcuit?
I would really like to know
@hidillon
Try deleting the plugins/TARDIS folder and then recreating the TARDIS.
Seems a popular request to get a bigger TARDIS... might make it bigger in the future but probably only as big as a chunk (16x16 blocks)
@jillfire1
The internal error you are getting when trying to update is because the timelords.yml is missing from the plugins/TARDIS folder. This is probably also why the repeaters/button are not working. If you can, delete the TARDIS folder and let the plugin remake it, then recreate your TARDIS in the same spot as before.
You should be able to time travel across worlds using
/tardis travel [world] [x] [y] [z]
(I can in my testing), maybe you don't have permission?@seriosbrad
What version of the spout plugin? You should probably try this one: http:get.spout.org/dev/spoutplugin.jar What version of CraftBukkit?
WHAT WOULD MAKE THIS plugin BOSS if you could make the control room bigger (i know i can but it would make it easier) I CANT teleport because when i hit the repeaters to the right order and then hit the button it doesn't do anything (doesn't tell me anything or teleport me anywhere)
I'm in love with this plugin, but installing Spout plugin seems to have broken it. I can set destinations but the redstone torch on the door does nothing. I tried changing the key and updating the door but that didn't help. There is also this error in the server log:
http://pastebin.com/kQcczWGJ
okay, so I can travel if I use the /tardis travel x y z command (only in one world, not across worlds), but clicking on the switches and repeaters (followed by the button at the back) does not make the TARDIS travel. I just grabbed the 1.5.jar about 30 minutes ago. What am I missing? I had this working a few weeks ago across worlds, so I kinda know how it is supposed to work. Also, the command /tardis admin update isn't working with a generic error, "An internal error occurred while attempting to perform this command."
Fantastic! How do I see the current config (after changing travel distance etc)? We have multiple admins, so it would be useful to be able to see what they have changed in the settings.
Thanks!
@Siedge
If you want a bigger control room, you can modify it yourself :) Just use the
/tardis update
commands on the newly positioned blocks. Also I think there is plenty of of wall space for signs if I ever get around to doing the sign location finding display thing.Can't do the 2 TARDISs in one place without rewriting a big chunk of the plugin, which I'm not prepared to do at this stage, maybe when the official Minecraft mod API comes out... If you feel like learning some Java and making your own version of the plugin, the source code is free to grab from GitHub - https:github.com/eccentricdevotion/TARDIS
Also Could You see About Expanding the Control Room ALOT more? Its way to small to move around and that would help with your signs for going places...
Also i was wondering about 2 Tardises in the same place? Maybe Make it where they can both be in same place. And If You Try to go in it will ask you which Tardis to attempt to Enter?
@Siedge
Not keen to add anymore Spout features apart from a few more sound effects, as big changes coming to Spout and Minecraft both in the future...
@Siedge
@rythar
Will add a max_distance config option, with square borders (and round if I can remember my trig well enough) to the todo list along with server locations. Not sure when i'll get a chance to implement them though as I'm off overseas soon...
I second the option for a max distance from spawns per world. I have world borders setup to control disk size and when I tried to use this it kept taking me outside of the border then I would lose my tardis when I get moved within the border.
