Features:
- An entity (player, animal) in light will be set on fire. Stepping into shade will douse the entity.
- The entire plugin can be turned off if necessary, or player and mob burn can be toggled individually.
- The effects of SunBurn can be toggled on a per world basis. World not in the worldlist will not be burned, v1.5.0+
- A player may exempt from being burned with the player exemption list, v1.5.5+
- A configuration file makes for easy control of the plugin, v1.5.0+
- Per-world configurations allow for a precise time control system, as well as locking the time and weather in a world, v1.6.3+
- A protective armor system will protect the player, v1.6+
- The plugin will auto-update, v1.7.0+
- A whole bunch of permissions, v1.7.0+
- Armor can now be toggled with /burn armor. Some people didn't like it, I guess... v1.7.0+*
- Wasteland generation, v1.7.0+
- AutoWasteGen, v1.7.5+

- Custom armour IDs and damage values. 1.8.0+
- 1.8.1 - Bugfixes only. I think there was a problem with armour damage and I'll have to look into that. It was not fixed with this update.

AutoUpdates
- These can now be turned off in the configuration because it is REQUIRED.
- By default, SunBurn will continue to AutoUpdate
- Changing "check_for_updates" in the config will disallow checking for updates
- Changing "auto_update" will disallow downloading the update.
- If "check_for_updates" is disabled, "auto_update" will always be disabled, regardless of actual setting.

Hmm I don't start burning at all (neither as op or normal user) no matter how often I toggle it with /burn and no matter what time of day.
The already slow server also lags like hell and then does nothing SunBurn-related.

EDIT: this is a new world and the player is wearing no armor whatsoever nor are there any items present in the inv.
Well, I've added auto-updates, and wasteland generation is going smoothly! Hope to be done soon!
Hi there! How do I change the damage it does? I tried configuring the file but nothing happened! Maybe I config the wrong thing? I configured the Config File and then changed the 1 =1/2 heart into 2=1/2 heart. Nothing happened, I want them to die rather quickly cuz they are still getting out of the shelter easily. Thanks!

For some reason this doesnt work for me, the plugin is working and and i can use the commands, but no burning is happening unless i use burn player

I will implement this into 1.7! Going to spend all day tomorrow working on an algorithm for wasteland generation, so hopefully I can have 1.7 up by the end of next week!
Would it be possible to add in permission based nodes for players being burnt? Such as
sunburn.burn
and that would automatically at a player with that node to the players that get burned list?
I am going to test out your plugin either later today or on monday when i have off from work, but to get an idea of basically what i am trying to do... We run Heroes on our server, and one of our races/classes is a vampire, and i am hoping to be able to just create a permission based skill (in case you are unfamiliar with heroes, a permission based skills just adds access to a permission node, whether a command or setting but only to the class that has the skill) that would cause anyone that became a vampire to be burned in the sunlight using your plugin.
If you can't or don't want to don't worry about it i am sure i can figure something out to get it to work, if you do want to try and get it on the plugin that would be great, time is of no concern still building the whole server, bout 2mos out till we are finished, but it would be greatly appreciated if you are able to add nodes at all to the plugin.

/burn armor requires an argument after armor. An example would be
"/burn armor gold" to set protective armor to gold or
"/burn armor 5" to set armor durability to 5(max)
There is no function to turn protective armor off. It will be added in 1.7 along with wasteland generation.

I was rudely awoken at 2 in the morning by a demand to update the plugin to 1.2.5-R3
First off: I am in GMT-6 If you need to contact me, please make sure it is at a reasonable time.
Second: THERE ARE NOT GOING TO BE MAJOR CHANGES TO THE BUKKIT API, UNLESS A NEW VERSION OF MC COMES OUT!!!!!! That means: Whatever version of Sunburn exists right now should be 100% compatible with the newest development build.
(And yes, 1.6.4 is compatible with CB1.2.5-R3.1)

Anyways, in your case, there's no need to add that in for me. I really appreciate your offer though! :) I actually found your plugin while looking for a replacement for Burning Mobs, but it has finally been updated! Since your plugin is used to make more dangerous situations and supports multi-worlds, I may create an additional hardcore world to my server and use your plugin just how it was intended to be used, so thank you for that!
Lastly, if the offer is still on the table for different ideas, I could possibly use your work and knowledge to create a plugin in the future! Also, version 1.6.4 is perfectly functional with CB1.2.5-R2.1 (just recompiled, no errors)
Remember, I keep up to date as much as any of you, since I host my own server. If there is ever a new version of CB, I will make sure to update the plugin. No worries!

Maybe. Depends on if other people feel the need for a function like this. I mean if only one person uses it, it's kind of pointless to spend time programming it in...
Really, I would just go ahead and put it in, but the main reason I'm reluctant is that this plugin is meant to work in an apocalypse style setting, where the sun came too close to the earth, or the ozone has burned away, or something else. If you would like me to make a plugin that only burns creepers and spiders during the daytime, in the sunlight, PM me, and I will make you a personal plugin!

Can you add something in the config to burn hostile mobs? I don't want players or animals to burn.. just creepers, spiders, etc. Thanks for remaking a great plugin! Keep up the good work. :)

It is. The only reason it says CB 1.2.5-R1.2 is because R1.3 is not an option in the menu. This has been compiled for the newest dev version 2187 (1.2.5 R1.4)

This was fixed originally when everything was one method, but between 1.6 and 1.6.1, I recoded the entire plugin to work with seperate methodsz, and must have forgotten to add that back in... :(

Found another issue. If you wear gold armor, you are protected... If you have no armor and jump into water, you are protected. But if you jump into water while wearing Gold Armor, you are protected but your armor still takes damage.

Fixed! get 1.6.35 to guarantee you have the newest, most functional version!
when you set the gold armor as the protection, if i wear the chestplate, it never gets destroyed and im protected forever....helmet boots and legs disappear when meter runs out, but the chest just goes to an empty bar to a full red bar and then stays there and i dont burn
