It seems that the plugins doesn't use the variable set in the config for the splashscreen
I used the same config when i was in 1.1 (with the SpoutEssentials 3.9.2 for CB 1.1-R1 Jan 29, 2012) and there was no issue back then

The Link i use for the splashscreen url is still valid but it doesn't shows up on loggin and i get the following line in my log :

[SpoutEssentials] Image http://www.google.com/logo.png was not found.

So i believe the current version of SPE use the default value for the splashscreen url and not the one specified in the config.

What she said. If you try finding that, it won't exist. I'm frankly too lazy to upload a completely new version just to change the default version that no one will use, so, I suggest just using a different URL.

Hi, you didn't understand me ;) When i change the splashscreen url in the config, the plugin still tries to load the default one (the google one). I tried several host and different picture but nothing change, it doesn't work. Here is the picture and the link that use to work :

Hm, the newer version uses groups with the splash screen. Try adding the node to make it so that it's splashscreen.default rather than just having one node. If you'd like to add specific groups, you can do splashscreen.groupname and add a value for that.

is it true the splash screen must be 427*239?
